For those who have never been to a Trader Joe's, they are a chain of alternative grocery stores. They carry many products under the TJ's name, plus many brands that I have never seen at the big chain grocery stores. Many products rotate and they carry food items, organic items, herbal foods and products as well as spirits, wine and beer. They also have plenty of ready to go foods like sushi, salads, and sandwiches. TJ's is a good place to stop for lunch.
This TJ's is medium sized, very well kept and is usually very busy. Especially at lunch time. Located at third and La Brea this can be an extremely busy intersection during the work week. This TJ's does have a medium sized parking lot and a parking lot across the alley that is useable by TJ's customers at certain times of the day. Usually when the store is slow and there is plenty of parking in the main lot. Go figure.
Surrounded by the wine section in the back of this TJ's is a rectangular island. What a wonderful island it is. It holds the beer. And there is a very healthy selection at this particular TJ's. I know some TJ's are shrinking their beer selection for wine but not this one. Anyway, like all TJ's this one carries a variety of inexpensive imports. Steinlager, Grolsh, Bear Beer, Tecate, Birra Morretti and other beers from Japan, Germany, Australia, New Zeland, Canada and a few other countries. This TJ's provides a craft beer selection that has a good deal of consistency, some rotating selections, seasonals, and a decent but not great supply of imports. Here is a sample list. Anderson Valley(IPA, ESB, Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout), North Coast(Red Seal, Scrimshaw, Old Rasputin), Acme([made by North Coast] IPA, Pale, Brown), Sonoran(Inebreator Stout, Barley Wine), Full Sail(Amber, Rip Curl, Pale, Wassail), Rogue(Dead Guy Ale), James Squire, Fat Weasal, Red Horse, MacTarnahans(IPA, Pale) Big Hole, Mendicino, and some other craft beers. Some imports are Lindeman's, Chimay, Duvel, Unibroue, Spatan, St, Peter's. Samuel Smith's(Lager, Oatmeal Stout, Pale, Winter, IPA), Young's, Paulaner and a few others.
Overall a well run store with a very helpful staff. Beer prices are very competative and sometimes a little cheaper than the liquor or standard grocery store. A good selection when looking for a decent selection of good quality beers but do not expect to find anything too obscure.

More beer than I have seen at any other Trader Joe's
Carry Full Sail LTD series in six packs
Also carry Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout and Nut Brown Ale
Not a very good location, but that is how most of Los Angeles is
Carry the normal Chimay, Anderson Valley, Sea Dog, Rogue Dead Guy Ale, and Red Hawk Monetecito Ale
Good specials on their own brews and various 4 packs of tall cans are four to six dollars (Orangeboom, Four Horses, and Murphy's)
Can also find Mississippi Mud which nobody could pay me enough to drink again
None of their vintage bottles were left at this location when I was there
