Clear, orange amber with a soapy, white head that leaves some nice lace on the glass. The nose is grassy, orange blossom, sweet malt and some citric hop notes. Not a bad tasting beer but more ESB than IPA. Sweet and malty (Munich malts? Interesting choice..) with candied grapefruit and caramel flavors and while hops are certainly present this is not a hoppy tasting brew. Creamy and medium bodied. A decent beer but not what you'd expect from a "dry hopped, double hopped" IPA.

Poured into a mass. Two and half fingers of head on a hazy, medium straw colored body.
The aroma is orange juice and hay.
The taste is mild bitterness, orange sweetness and finishes with a dry bitterness.
The texture is soft with moderate carbonation.
A bit tame on the hops for an IPA but quite drinkable and the huge can is attractive.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.
"Cold fusion filled"!? Why aren't they sharing their cold fusion technology with the world!? Anyway, this stuff pours a clear amber-brass topped by a finger of relatively short-lived off-white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit peel, light menthol, light pine sap, and some strong buttery biscuit forming a solid foundation for it all. The taste brightens the grapefruit a notch, softens the biscuit a good deal, and does away with much of the butter. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying finish. Overall, an okay IPA, definitely in favor of balance, but one that lacks much character beyond that.

Can pour at the BevMo Holiday Beerfest held at Golden Road Brewing in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours a clear orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest. Taste is much the same with a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average IPA but it's drinkable for what it is.

Another beer provided by the creator of the can quest, woodychandler. Poured from a 16 oz. can in the shape of a bottle. Has a beige color with a 1 inch head. Smell is very malty(huh), a bit sweet. Taste is also big on malts, some hops are present, as is a bit of caramel, I enjoyed it but your average hop head would be let down. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall, as woody said, more like a pale ale than an IPA.

This was an unusual CAN to further The CANQuest (TM) since it was in the shape of a screw-top bottle, but made of aluminum. Folks, if it ain't glass, it ain't a bottle! Same with non-pressurized mini-kegs: non-pressurized means not on-tap. Please stop taking me to task. I know what I am doing and talking about.
From the CAN: "Brewed with Glacial Mineral Water"; "Dry Hopped, Double Hopped"; "Cold Fusion Filled"; "A copper colored Ameri[CAN] style IPA with full malt flavor, notable bitterness and a satisfying hop presence. This beer teases great flavor from fewer ingredients including Munich and Melanoidin malts paired with the perfect blend of Apollo, Cascades [sic] and Sterling hops. This beer demonstrates the great flavor that [CAN] be achieved by a simplified palette of beer ingredients."
I could have sworn that it also claimed to be resealable, but that does not appear anywhere on the CAN.
No Crack as a result, but the Glug happened really quickly as the direct result of the wide mouth. I ended up with better than two fingers of dense, tawny head with great retention as a result. I was not in complete agreement with their assessment of its color as "copper", thinking that it was more of a deep-amber, but either way with NE-quality clarity. Nose was more malty and grainy than I would prefer in the style, belying their "achieve[ment] by a simplified palette" claim. Simple is as simple does and usually does not elevate anything. Mouthfeel was medium with an odd semi-sweet bitterness on the tongue. It was as if the hops and malts were fighting for supremacy and the malt had gained a slight advantage. Finish was likewise a strange admixture of astringency and biscuit malts. I was not displeased, but I was not wowed by it, either. It really was more like an APA than an AIPA, but for the price, it was not bad. Sheesh! Talk about damning with faint praise ...

Big 2 pint can (32oz) from the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL for $2.99. No freshness date.
The beer poured a clear golden/orange amber color with a big 3-finger white head that dissipates rather quickly and left very little lacing.
The beer had a mild citrus hop smell with some caramel malt aroma underneath.
Everything about this beer screams "mild". There is a mild caramel sweetness, a mild citrus hoppiness, mild carbonation, and a mild bitter finish. There's nothing off-putting about it, but there's no "wow factor" either. Letting it warm a bit does nothing to help improve the flavor, so go ahead and drink it cold. A rather ho-hum flavor overall.
Light body with light carbonation.
While not an outstanding IPA, it's very drinkable, and at $2.99 for 2 pints worth, it does offer some good value.

Huge can for $2.99. Nice amber colour with decent head retention. Caramel and citrus aroma. Not bad, but it doesn't blow you away either. Initiall taste is sweet caramel malt, with an everyday citrus fruit hop flavour. Quite pleasant really. Bitter sweet finish. This is a hell of a value and not bad at all. As IPA goes this one is far from my favourite and equally far from my least favourite. Guess that puts it somewhere in the middle, which isn't to shabby.

Poured into a Black Raven pint glass. Pours a light to medium coppery orange amber. Nice three finger white head that meandered down to a thin film leaving massive lacing. Light aroma of biscuit malt and mild hops. Flavor is dominated by biscuit malt with a nondescript hop bitterness. Finish is a bit abrupt and dry with lingering neutral hops. Light bodied, but decent carbonation. I can't help but think that if this had been properly "dry hopped, double hopped", it might have been something. It starts off with a decent malty beginning, but does not deliver. My initial expectations were low (giant can and all...) and it exceeded those expectations, so kudos to the brewer. I had no problem finishing the can and had this been labelled as an American amber ale, it would have scored higher. Not a super IPA, but a decent inexpensive amber ale. Excellent for the price, but be sure you want to have 32 ozs, because there is no going back after the can is open.

Wooo-Hooo! A 32oz, "Cold Fusion Filled" can of 6.5%ABV for $4? Lets bust this puppy open! Poured into blue Solo cup and (mostly) consumed on the walk back to a friends house after a recent brewers night at a local store. The beer (we poured the remnants into a clear glass when back at OKComputers house) was a typical anmber-gold IPAish color with under a half inch of white head with low retention and lacing.
The aroma was pretty sweet for an IPA and didn't have much in the way of bittering hops to provide some balance or contrast. The story was the same on the tongue, sweet and sticky, with just a bit of sour/bitter hops on the finish.
The body was very thin, even by cheap IPA standards. Drinkability was OK, but don't get your hopes too high. Overall, worth a shot as a novelty, or worth it when you're a bit short of pocket money and still want a beer. Basically you're getting a half-growler for $4, I'd probably grab another for that type situation where I'm walking home with a half a buzz on and want to finish off the night with wasting a decent beer.

Poured from Double Pint can purchased for $2.99. Expectations are on par with the price tag. Clear pale copper color with two plus fingers of head that had good retention before settling to a thick cap. Moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass.
Has a mild citrus hop aroma that is not as strong as I expect from a beer touting 70 IBUs. Some bready malt is also detected.
The ingredients used must of been of poorer quality as well as significantly more inexpensive to produce an IPA this cheap and rather pedestrian tasting. Nothing off-putting about the taste but it lacks excitement. Just mild citrus hop and rather dry malt flavor.
The mouthfeel is where this beer nearly fails. It feels so lifeless. I can see carbonation bubbles in the beer, but it absolutely lays flat and thin on the palate.
What do you want for $2.99 for 32oz.? I got about what I was expecting. Good for a gag or a chuckle, but far from a serious IPA at this point.
