Picked this 32oz can up on a lark. Low price and large size should have tipped me off to the contents, even though it was prominently displayed with other quality micros at my local beer store. Nice graphics for a canned beer, reminded me of Leinenkugel labels.
Poured a dark amber with a fluffy head. Smell of fruits, cherries, caramel.
I could get past three mouthfuls before it went into the sink. Even the wife couldn't stand more than one. Little body, bad finish that tasted of metal.

A: Dark brown with a ruby tinge, filtered so you can see through it even though its dark, medium carbonation, 3 fingers of fluffy tan brown head.
S: Fruit cellar, American craft brew meets musty cobwebs in an attic scent, some dark Munich Dunkel hops reminding me of this style in scent and appearance, light faint dark chocolate and coffee scent.
T: I get the porter like qualities as well as the amber, largely making it taste like a lighter version of a porter. I get the chocolate, stout like qualities and coffee, as well as tar and burnt rubber notes near the end. Also, American amber comes through as well through the entire body. The medium roasted slightly citrus qualities of this style also present. Very pleasant, very drinkable, keeps me coming back for more.
M: Medium body, medium carbonation. Smooth yet dark and complex.
O: Great look, love the huge can, many porter like qualities in the scent and taste, and the amber qualities mix well with this in the taste. Really impressed over all and want to keep sipping. Glad to have found this one a Paul’s in China.

I bought it because it's in a can-bottle. Poured minimal head on a dark brown body.
The aroma has a mild roasted malt with a little crushed grain.
The flavor has a mild sweetness from the roasted malt with a mild bitterness at the finish.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
Well, it tastes like an average porter was mixed with an average amber bock.

Like UCLAbrewN84 I purchased Cold Spring Moonlight Ale because of its Shelf appeal. An over-sized 32oz can for under $3. Had a rustic label and promises of quality due to the use of "natural spring water".
Poured into a pint glass from the massive can.
A | Reddish amber color, clear with a nice one-finger head with pleasing small bubbles. Lasted about 2-3 minutes. Some lacing.
S | Not much there... very thin with bready and malty notes with a slight (SLIGHT) hint of caramel, very faint. Uh-oh moment #1.
Just spilled a bunch on my keyboard. My mouth may have gone rogue and rejected that sip. Uh-oh moment #2.
T | Much stronger than the smell. Malt punch at the start. Slight, thin caramel, then a barely there, strange bitter aftertaste. Strange in that it doesn't seem to be entirely from hops.. in fact its more of a weird sensation on those bitter zones on the back of the tongue. Makes me instinctively swish my tongue around in a futile attempt to scrape it off. I'm finding myself taking more sips to alleviate the problem as the initial flavors aren't un-drinkable. Uh-oh #3.
M | Thin, watery.
O | This is a sub-par beer for something that claims to be a pure, loved product and says "Craft Beer" on the can. I don't know who "Crafted" this beer but it feels like the recipe was created to capitalize on a growing market while also being cheap and chuggable for those who just want to get drunk with a little flavor on the way. I WOULD buy this for my friends who THINK they like craft beer but really just want to pretend to be fancy while getting wasted. I will NOT purchase this again for my own consumption. Two years ago I would have bought cases of the stuff. Yay pallet evolution!
Side note, this is my first review on BA.
