This place has an excellent location at the western end of Golden Gate Park with outstanding views of the Pacific. A small museum to the history of the park dominates the 1st floor entryway. My fiance & I took the elevator to the second floor pub for the ocean views and a couple of drinks. The bartenders were busy, but still very friendly and attentive. I only tried the Riptide Red, as they were out of the bitter on cask. It was nothing to write home about, but fit the bill for my thirst at the time. A 22 oz glass was 5.07 which on the whole is pretty reasonable for beer in SF. $5 to $5.50 was the average for a pint of Guinness most places. The food menu seemed a little expensive, but I guess you pay for the view. They offered a fair range of beer styles, but it did seem like the beer was secondary on their list of priorities for the establishment. Overall, not a bad place to enjoy a pint, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there if you're not in the Golden Gate Park/ Haight Ashbury vacinity.

We ate and drank in the Park Chalet section, which has a nice upscale restaurant look and feel complete with fireplace and a nice view of their park area and patio. The service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. The number of beers that were offered was typical of a small brew pub with a decent range of styles. I was less than impressed with the quality of the beers and food, which at $5 a pint and $11 for an average burger were way overpriced. Overall, a decent place, but not one to make a special trip for.

Spacious dining areas including a nice enclosed patio area, with a bar, downstairs in the back. Upstairs is a nice dining area with a great ocean beach view and a bar area, kind of yuppy-ish.
Located in a historical park building with some historical items below the dining area. Restroom was clean. Nice wooden tables, chairs, and bar area. The kitchen is not in the open.
Good and prompt service, business like.
A decent selection with two cask options only available upstairs. I had the Dee's Bitter (handpump) and tasted the handpump Porter, did not get a chance to taste their beers on tap today.
Good menu with some healthy options, did not eat here today.

We visitied the Beach Chalet at night so i didn't get to see the view of the Pacific Ocean on this occasion! The Beach Chalet is easy to find and is located above the visitors center at the ocean end of Golden Gate Park. Arriving on a Sunday night we found the bar fairly busy and sat ourselves at the bar itself. The staff were very friendly, well informed and offered us samples of the beers on offer. My VFW light was just what i needed!
An excellent brewpub, probably very touristy during the summer, worth combining with a daytime walk through the park and a stroll down Ocean Beach.

Great location on San Francisco's great highway at ocean beach. Excellent beer selection and they had a cask ale to boot. Would you believe it was served in a British pint glass! One brewpub that seems to know what it's doing. My complaints are that it's too upscale and expensive. Most of the people in there looked liked they belonged at wineries. Mixed feelings overall. Just went back and had lunch, food was great! My burger was so good it was scary. Suzanne and her mom were along and had a salad. it came with real S.F. sourdough bread, which I destroyed on the spot. I still feel it's way too upscale and expensive. It works though as they are expanding, that's good. I lso don't like that their bottled beer is way too stiff. They want 4.50 for a bomber! Still a nice place.
