Got in a variety River Horse pack.

I've had this twice now, the first poured into a beer mug, the second straight out of a bottle.

Smaller head, maybe 1 finger, with minimal lacing.
The smell has a distinct fruitiness to it, raisins, citrus primarily stick out.

The taste wasn't my favorite, with the alcohol content of 10% almost feeling pervasive in the flavoring.
Not to an unbearable point but I wouldn't run back to drink this again.

Good carbonation and full bodied aftertaste.

Overall it's not a bad beer but not one that I enjoy that much.

On tap pint in Alfie's, 9th Ave, New York on 18 Jan 2013.

First three words on my notes: Bubble-gum, cloudy and sweet. That kind of sums up the brew nicely. Luckily I like sweet brews normally, this one however caught me out somewhat.

If this is supposed to be in a Belgian Tripel style they've gone wrong completely: as a stand alone brew however it was fine, not really to my liking but there is nothing bad or poor about it.

The alcohol is well hidden by the vanilla/bubble-gum flavours and I managed to finish my pint without any undue problem, but I'll never have another.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Smells of brown sugar and bananas. Sweet and malty on the fore with no lingering kick from the high ABV. Silky smooth mouth-feel. Loved my first experience with Tripel Horse, but will have to try it again to dive in a little deeper.
