16 ounce pint - Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Dispensed a near black body, with some glints of ruby showing at the edges. Firm, light beige head.
Smell: Dark maltiness, some modest showing of chocolate and only the thinnest, vaguest touch of cherry. Subtle would be an understatement.
Taste: Dark malts, with about the same level of chocolate carrying over from the nose -- not much. And barely any cherry. Little hop character, bitterness. Very slight darkened grain astringency. A bit one-note from start to finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: A bit wanting in the namesake chocolate and cherry qualities, leaving it somewhat underwhelming. A porter that promises something more, but ends up just being another, run-of-the-mill porter.
Serving type: on-tap
