Poured from a 12 oz bottle into my 32oz mug
A - big fluffy head, lots of lacing, it appears to be unfiltered, which to most would be a turn off, but appreciate a beer that can be crafted without filtering, being a home brewer myself.
S - not much going on on the nose, some faint herbal hops and citrus
M - light to medium body, mildly carbonated
O - despite being unfiltered this beer is tasty, easy on the palette and very drinkable. However, as an IPA I don't think it quite fits into the style with the big contenders, but I still enjoyed drinking this brew. I don't think I'll ever actively seek it out, but I would be delighted if I saw it on the shelf.

Poured refrigerator cold into two pyramidal wine glasses. Consumed over 15 minutes.
A: Downright chunky debris, swimming opacity on a bubbly orange
S: Orange, bready. Hops more obvious in the flavor than the nose.
T: Early flowers droop into spice, but the whole taste folds early with late emergent bitterness. With warmth, there is a background of caramel apple that smoothes out the final sips some.
M: The chunks make one fearful of the impending feel, but there is an astringent zing of metallic fizz that’s holds interest.
O: Not thrilling, with a consistently bitter end that spoils it some on its own and what food one might add alongside. But not uninteresting—glad we met.

Red Brick HopLanta has a medium, off-white head, a hazy, orange appearance with lots of bubble streams (etched glass), some lacing left behind, and an enormous amount of fairly big, light gray chunks suspended throughout. The aroma is of full, sweet, citrus and white bread, and the flavor is of the same, with a heafty piney bitterness across the sip. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Red Brick HopLanta finishes semi-dry, sweet, tasty, and easy drinking. Overall, this is really nice.

Bottle poured in a Goose Island Glass
Appearance: light brownish, amber. Upon pouring the beer, it contained a one inch white head, but soon after pouring the beer the white head subsided to about a centimeter. I an also see small particles in the bottom of the glass from the hops itself.
The Aroma is sweet, yet citrusy and hoppy.
Taste: The hoppiness definitely cuts through on this one, but it's not bitter. It's very smooth on the palette and it goes down smooth. I feel a slight tingling sensation on my tongue, which must be from the citrusy bitterness contained and the alcohol, but the alcohol taste is not dominant. It's somewhat bitter on the forefront, but contains a sweet aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: I can feel the bubbly carbonation, but it's not thick. This one falls more on the thin side for sure.
Overall, I feel like this is an underrated IPA and not much attention is given to it as a result. This one is definitely one of my favorites beer; since I'm a hop-head, this is definitely my favorite style of beer, and I like the fact that Hoplanta goes down very smoothly. Perfect for those who dislike the bitterness from the hops, because you can still taste the hoppy presence, but the sweet malts added make it a very easy beer to drink.

bottle into duvel glass
appearance: cloudy burnt orange with 1 finger white head, lots of lacing
smell: bitter earthy hops, apple, floral, some citrus, lemon, very subtle grapefruit
taste: follows the nose, eas expecting it to be more bitter by the smell, and it is a decently bitter beer, but it's a lot more balanced than I expected. Surprisingly smooth, this seems to be like a very underrated beer. Lots of floral notes with a lemony/apple like body that ends very refreshing.
mouthfeel: pretty thin body and average carbonation
overall: Pleasantly surprised buy this random buy at the beer store. Surpassed whatever expectations I had, this is a very very well balanced IPA with some great floral earthy hop action, but to overly bitter, just enough to satisfy a hophead but could also appeal to people who don't like the really bitter IPAs. Very refreshing beer, goes down really smooth, highly drinkable, will be buying again.

Poured into a standard pint glass a dull lighter golden with a nicely formed half finger white head that held well.Lighter herbal citric hop notes in the nose along with a firm malt base wich was not very sweet.citric and herbal hops are the main flavor nots, although not in your face they pack a nice little punch, mild biscuit malt notes underneath.Although not a big American IPA it packs enough hops to satisfy.

A - Hazy goldish amber. Nice lacy foam with large pockets.
S - Clove, allspice, bready, wine-y. Good amount of grapefruit on the fruity side.
T - Resinous hop character: muted bitterness, grainy flatness, grassy, very faint roasted malt
M - Smooth and crisp, very clean and dry
Shows some signs of age, I would like to try it on draft fresh and see what is up after that.

So I bought a case of this as it was one of the few IPAS available in beer deprived (depraved) MS. We still do not have enough quality offerings via distribution here, as presumably most quality breweries have enough distribution already. Hopefully we will continue to gain in assortment.
On to this beer: I bought a whole case from my vendor without trying it first. Big mistake. The product pours so foamy that it will run out of a 24 oz. mug, just by decanting it (properly, as I am so very well versed). Next it is very malty, rather than hoppy in any sense of the word. Mouthfeel is of heft without redeeming taste qualities. Smell is not like Ruination or West Coast IPA--it is more like, well just a malt-bomb. Can't describe it better, sorry. Overall it is something I will never buy again, though it remains better than the macro-brews. I still have 5-6 left from a case I bought almost 6 months ago, and that is saying something.
Red Brick, you should go to school and fix this offering. In the words of Chevy Chase, "you're really not that good..."
