This actually isnt a bad beer. Of course its never going to rate highly here. Light-bodied, light-colored beers dont stand a chance around here. But it is really pretty good for what it is. The appearance really isnt very promising. The pale gold body really would make it hard to differentiate this from a macro lager. The aroma also plays some tricks on the mind. If you gave this to me in a blind taste test I never would have guessed it was a blonde ale like the label claims. I would have pegged it as a really fresh sample of some Bohemian pilsner or one of the better, but less aggressive American takes on the style. The hops arent huge in this, but do stand up beneath the firm, dry straw/hay maltiness. Another example of ABC becoming a much better brewery than it once was and becoming a source of some solid session beers.

A-bright gold with a bright red hue. No head, minimal lacing
S-Very estery. Fresh apples/apple cider and pears with a hint of cinnamon
T-Almost same as smell. Very crisp and tart. The fruit isn't s noticeable in the taste as it is in the smell, however.
MF-crisp and thin, goes down easy
O-A good blonde ale. It smells fantastic (fruit and other spices) but those notes almost disappear when it comes to taste. Crisp and refreshing, drink very cold (IMO)

I'm not sure why the ABV is reported as being 5.7, unless it's been changed. The bottle I purchased today (1/17/13) is marked 4.6. That's a significant difference, and should be noted by those who are reviewing current bottles.
This is my first review here, and was prompted by a desire to correct the ABV amount. This beer is innocuous and forgettable. Light-bodied, light-flavored, and if served cold would be even more lacking in flavor. I have mine at roughly 65 F. I thought at first it would be a good summer afternoon cookout beer, but now that I'm almost finished with it, I would instead say avoid and look elsewhere. There are far more satisfyingly "gluggable" beers for such occasions.

Pours a slightly hazy, straw color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of citrus hops, slight pale malt, slight sweet malt, hint of earthy malt, pine, and slight grass. Fits the style of an American Blonde Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of slight grass, citrus hops, pine, sweet malt, and slight pale malt. Overall, decent aroma, blend, and body.
