This beer poured an orangey amber color from a 22oz bomber, with the typical hop haze in an IPA. The head was about an inch of tightly bubbled dirty white foam. The foam sank back into the beer relatively quickly, but left lacing around the glass that stayed until the beer was gone. The aroma was unfortunately underwhelming, dominated by citrus and pine. Taste wise, lots of hops citrus and that pine again, but a bit of malt in the finish. overall, an ok examplemofman IPA.

Review from 6/2011 notes. Poured into a Black Raven pint glass. Pours a clear medium coppery orange amber with a two finger white head. Nice citrusy, fresh hops aroma with light malt. Flavor is citrus, light malt, lightly sweet, intense hops. Medium bodied. Finish emphasizes the hops, with little malt flavor carrying through. A pleasant IPA, but could use a bit more malt body. Nice, but not noteworthy.

22oz bottle poured into a NB globe.

A: A nice murky copper pour, clearly unfiltered. Big pillow of head that laced nicely through out the drink.

S: Big blast of malts, bready bisquity smell. Minimal hop presence. Just the slightest hint of piney cascade hops.

T:The taste follows the smell, big malt presence. I'm beginning to think this might not be that fresh as I remember a bigger hop presence in the past when I had this on tap.

M: Carbonation levels are spot on. It leaves a nice texture on the mouth but not what you would expect from an IPA. A bit chewy with this beer being so malt forward.

O: This is like any IPA, avoid unless fresh. Given the choice between this and their Wildcat, I'm going Wildcat every time.

1 Pint, 6 FL OZ. bottle into tulip glass.

A - Pours semi-cloudy golden, with a HUGE, THICK, white head...- some good lacing.

S - Hops and lots of sweet citrus - some orange & grapefruit tones...

T - A challenge due to the thick, overtaking head... Although an abundand hop kick at the top, followed by some citrus, then ending with a bit of pine-like spices...strong hop flavor!!

M - Good carbonation... There's a good fullness. Some fruity/sweet flavors with pine/spice...but the HUGE 'over-the top' feel is the hops!

O - This one is good, yet not really a refreshing ipa...Here's why...can there be 'too-much; of a good thing? PERHAPS!! Here I think the hops cross the line to make it a harsh, rather than a refreshing beer...I'm one of the hugest hop-heads there is, but this one no thanks.

22 oz. bomber poured into a straight pint glass.

A: The beer poured a clear golden color with a thick two-finger head of fluffy white foam. There numerous streams of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Extremely thick lacing was prominent throughout.

S: The initial aroma is one of malt with pine and floral, fruity hop notes.

T: Upon hitting your palate, the beer has a sweet malt flavor that is followed by a punch of bitter hops and some floral notes finishing things off.

M: Very nice medium body with an oily mouth feel and no bitter aftertaste.

O: This is a really nice beer, seems to almost be a stronger version of the Wild Cat IPA.

22 picked up at Brewforia a couple days ago... After a looong day at work, this is looking pretty appealing in the fridge.

In my Portsmouth tulip, a nice 1" head hangs on for a bit.. great lacing.. the brew is a nicely polished orange/lite amber.

Nose is pithy citrus.. a better than expected malt presence amplifies the lack of real hop aroma.

Big.... BIG bitterness up front... really dies off quickly ... a bit of pale malt and some minor caramel.... the hop flavors are there, but not on the scale that I expect from a PNW IPA... the bitter bite lingers from front to back.

Body is nice... maybe (if I really complain) a touch thick... carbonation is ever-present but not quite enough to cut through the body.

Will I buy this one again? Ehhh.... Meeehhh... Probably... but I hope it is more dialed in with a lesser malt profile and a bigger hop presence on the palate. Too many other IPA's out there to get lost on a tough call.

Picked up by a friend out in Seattle.

The beer pours the prototypical orange amber color with very good head retention, rocky/pillowy head, and decent lacing. The nose is all IPA goodness, showcasing white pepper, considerable orange citrus and a hint of cinnamon. The flavor profile replicates the nose prettty closely in this well crafted IPA, with a good intermix of orange citrus, light tropical fruit and a hint of pine. The beer is refreshingly bitter and dry on the finish, with a medium bodied mouthfeel. The finish is fairly long and bitter, with the alcohol perfectly integrated into the flavor profile.

This was a very easy to appreciate and enjoy IPA, one that was gone all too quickly from my pint glass. The beer seemed to only improve as it sat in the glass, and once again I'm impressed by the amount of flavor this beer delivers, and how well balanced it is. Very nice IPA.

Bottled: Unk

A: Pours an amber ale with excellent clarity and a finger of peanut head has meringue quality. This falls over several minutes to a sheet of the same. Cobweb lacing.

S: Some mango, peaches, resin and pine. Nice sweet biscuit malts with some underlying grain tones. The slightest hint of alcohol. Nice.

T: Bitter, sweet, resin and citric rinds are very prominent. There is some alcohol again here. The beer is little off balanced with too much bitterness in your face without more flavor and finishing hops to help polish this beer. Good, but could use a little adjustment.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carb. Long and slick finish.

O: This is a decent offering from Snoqualmie. It's got a bit more action than the Wildcat IPA they offer year-round. There could be a bit more depth to the hop schedule and diversity. Although I wouldn't turn this beer away, I wouldn't be likely to pick up another bottle right away.

I first tasted this beer at the Washington Brewers Beer Festival at Saint Edwards Park and liked it enough, but given the environment, couldn't rate the beer. Too much going on.
Now, after purchasing a bomber at my favorite beer store, I can do an honest evaluation in a more subdued setting.
It poured a nice rich, thick, foamy head into my pint glass. Nice clear golden appearance. Fruity, citrus, hop balance is a nice change from the hop-bomb so prevalent on the Left Coast.
Mouthfeel was very good. No after taste cloying at all leaving a good feeling.
I like this beer a lot and highly recommend it.

Appearance: Bright, clear, and orange with a huge, rocky, off-white head. The lacing is crazy. Sticky as can be. The head sits around forever, slowly dropping, but never disappearing completely. A slight chill-haze creeps down from the top of the beer, but a little warming takes care of that. The only downside is it lacks a little depth in the color, feeling almost one-dimensional.

Smell: Faint hints of bread crust pull through a mellow hop bed. Citrus comes out over everything else, but it's muted. A little earthy as well. The malts are there, and come across a little sweet, but don't really bring a ton to the table. The hops, as mentioned, are muted, bringing to mind hints of slightly old orange and grapefruit. A touch oily, but nothing stellar.

Taste: Citrus hops come to the front, bringing a deeper fruit flesh flavor. Large notes of grapefruit dry everything out. The malts bring a crispness to the whole thing. Slightly sweet with a strong taste of bread crust. The grapefruit notes encompass both flesh and rind, leaving a lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue.

Mouthfeel: Dry overall, but backs a certain creaminess that is unexpected. It's smooth, but the dryness is distracting to say the least. Body is on the low side of medium and the carbonation is spot on.

Overall: It's decent, but almost unbearably dry. The body leaves a little something to be desired. With a small malt bill, the hops become almost too much, leaving the whole beer feeling oily and underwhelming. It's not bad by any means, but it's not screaming for a retry either.

T: Starts out with a lot of b read, perhaps some caramel but very malt fwd vs hop forward. Some citrus and pine notes accompany the breadiness

M: Medium body, well carbonated and good feel

On tap in the tap room.

Pours a gold color and is hazy. There is a creamy white head.

Smell is a faint and piney aroma.

Pine bitterness dominates the flavor. There is a little citrus taste. Not much malt flavor at all.

Mouthfeel is full bodied and cloying. There is dry bitter aftertaste.

Drinkability is OK. The bitterness is overdone and gets tiresome.

This beer pours a nice golden orange with a large head, this was an aggressive pour. The aroma is hoppy, grapefruit with sweet malt smell in the back. This is grapefruit bitter with the first sip, more floral on the backend, overall bitterness wins out. As far as the smoothness and drinkability, I dont think that there was enough malts in the back to balance out the hops, this one was just a little to bitter for me and lacking in the finnish, medium bodied

Picked up a 22oz bottle at Bottleworks over Memorial Day weekend.

A - Orangish-amber in color with a thick off-white head. Head is a solid two fingers with excellent retention. Beer has a light haze to it and very active carbonation.

S - Primarily citrus hops in the nose with alot of grapefruit coming through. I get just a touch of pine in the nose as well after the beer has had a chance to warm a bit. A very light toffee like sweetness lingers behind the hop aromas and gives just a bit of balance to the nose.

T - Big citrusy hops with lots of grapefruit and even a touch of orange. I also get a slightly tropical fruit sweetness mid-drink. The sweetness carries through from mid-drink with an even more traditional sweetbread taste in the finish. The hops are certainly the stars here though and their taste and bitterness carries throughout.

M - Medium to full bodied; a touch sticky. Very active carbonation and a bitterness that lingers long after the drink.

O - A solid example of an American IPA. Nothing spectacular, but certainly a nice solid offering. This is the third or fourth beer I have had from Snoqualmie and I have enjoyed them all.
