Stopped in here today while visiting my parents in the suburbs. This is a specialty market with a modest selection of beers, with only a few available as singles. I had no contact with the folks working there, but I didn't get the feeling that anyone there was well versed in beer, just by how small a space it was given. They had Chimay, Sea Dog (?), Black Toad (?), and many of the usual imported suspects you find at nearly any standard liquor store. I can't say I was blown away with the selection, but it is the second best I have found in the Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, North Aurora area...though I haven't looked too hard. I want to see some of the suburban BA's get more info on this area. There has to be a few hidden gems around here. I'm just waiting to find them.

Trader Joes is an excellent grocery store - which is what it is. Their beer selection is awful. It seems to be filled with microbrews that you can find at just about any regular liquor store. Their imports are almost non-existant. It is in a small corner of the store with very little shelf space. The staff is very helpful, though they don't know much about the beers. When I was there it didn't appear the inventory turned that fast. Lot's of thick dust on some of the bottles. Perhaps if you are already looking for organic groceries it would be worth a trip. Otherwise, save your gas until you can make it to either Binny's or Sam's.
