My wife, daughter and I stopped by for lunch.
We were greeted by a friendly server who promptly seated us. The place is open and clean with televisions situated throughout the dining area.
My wife and daughter had burgers which were very good. I loved the buffalo chicken pizza.
I sampled the golden ale, black ale, ipa and oatmeal stout; all were very good.
My only complaint was the service, it was extremely slow.

I stumbled upon Barley Creek Brewing Company after noticing a sign of the highway in the middle of PA. I enjoyed a nice meal, nothing exceptional, but better than fast food. The beer sampler is usually the way I go when trying new places but I was unable to choose any of the high alcohol beers to try in the sampler so I chose to enjoy a pint instead. The building was nice and environment was nice but it was very dead for a weekend lunch.

Definitely a bit on the pricey side but overall a pleasant experience. I got a flight and wasn't blown away by the flavors they put out there but all things considered I was happy. Food was above average and the service was more than adequate. A really good atmosphere and kid friendly too.

Barley Creek is a terrific place to visit each time you are in the Poconos. They were ahead of the curve in the Craft Beer boom. They opened in the infancy stage before anyone, especially yours truely, knew what craft beer even was. I worked at the resorts and this was the place to be on Friday night.
Forward to today: I truely enjoy craft beer and especially visiting breweries. When you go, you have to have the beer! In fact, if it is the first time, have a flight! Each beer has a clear and distinct aroma and flavor. It is obvious that time is spent in the creative process as many of the seasonal/limited edition beers are ones you have not had before. I most enjoy nitrogen beers and my last visit I have had the Irish Red on nitrogen. The full bodiness and creaminess of the nitrogen combined with the style of an irish red is fantastic!
The food is very good. I am not into the formal full-size meals. I love sandwiches and I have not had a sandwich better than I eat at Barley Creek. The quality and quantity are great for the value.
The service is prompt and they take care of any needs you may have.
I highly recommend Barley Creek and after you go, you will recommend it too!

Atmosphere - This place is pretty cool looking its like a big ski lodge restaurant and bar with lots of exposed wood. The bar is kinda cramped and the music is pretty loud even in the dinning areas.
Quality/selection - They had six house beers on tap a brown, light ale, golden ale, black lager, ipa, and a pumpkin ale during my visit. A decent selection however they were all below average for their styles.
Service - I came in for a late lunch and sat at the bar during my visit as I was by myself. the bartender seamed like he didn't want to be there as he would bitch about having to do his job each time a waitress had him make a drink. He also messed my order up and when he brought back the right thing there was a big chip in the corner of my plate.
Food - I ordered the Chipotle Turkey BLT Wrap which was pretty good but how hard is that to make right.
Overall this brrewpub isn't for the beer geek as the beer is subpar and its not worth going out of your way to get to.

Stopped here after shopping at the outlets near by. Was surprised by the place, it has a small park on the other side of the parking lot called the pint size park with a full size wiffle ball field.
The food was very good, the girlfriend loved it, I was rather impressed with the quantity of food and the quality. This included the ale cheese soup, as well as the wings which were of descent size and very well cooked. Also the atmosphere was very friendly and the waitress was attentive but not over baring.
The beer sample of 6 of the house beers, however, when I was there they only had 5 so the substituted the 6th with Yeungling's Oktoberfest which I did not even know was released.
The beer was also very well done, which is more then I can say for most of the brewpubs that I have visited. That being said, it is rare that My gf and I agree on beer and we agreed on all of Barley Creeks beer. I look folward to going back.

Stopped by while in the Poconos. Wife and I pulled up to a nice new rustic place that was Barley Creek. As we walked in we were greeted and seated right away. Service was very good and the food, which was wings were above average. I had the beer sampler which consisted of four four oz pours. The beers that I had were not very good and I could not finish two of them, the other two were subpar at best. The staff, food, place was nice. Sorry but the brews were not very good at all. The wife doesn't drink beer and she had a good time.

Visited this place on a recent road trip with the girlfriend.
Barely Creek is located in the Poconos area of PA. On a really nice drive through the mountain area, Barley Creek is located just on the side of the road. The place is actually deceptively big. There's even an outdoor sports "arena". The bar is huge and the restaurant area is equally as big. The only knock against from a beer guy's standpoint that its structured like a sports bar for the most part, catering to the people coming off the mountain or from the surrounding mall area.
Quality is average. The beer is served in the correct glassware and at the proper temperature. Not much else to say here.
Service was decent. We got all phases of our meal quickly except when we had to settle the check... the waitress seamed to disappear for about 10 minutes during that time for no apparent reason. Weird. Still, it was par for what I expected from a pretty busy Sunday afternoon.
Selection was pretty poor. They had a summerfest, a light lager, a pale ale, and a pretty wretched IPA. All tasted about the same. Light and flavorless... almost like a bunch of craft variations on the common adjunct lager. I'll pass next time.
The food was decent. I got the chicken BLT wrap and my girlfriend got the stuffed shrimp. Both were pretty impressive.
Barley Creek is a bit pricey. About $12 for the wrap and $19 for the stuffed shrimp. BUt the biggest knock is against their beers. $9 for a 5 beer sampler... with almost all the beers being rather bland and tasteless? No thanks.
Worth visiting if you're in the area, especially after a day of shopping or skiing. But otherwise I'd pass. This is not a craft beer destination and to expect it to be so would be setting yourself up for disappointment.

This was one of the first Microbreweries I have ever been to. I was pretty excited to see how the whole operation was run and when we got to the brewery. The inside was on the smaller side had bunch of tables to eat and had a massive bar.
The one brewmaster was a really nice guy too. He took us on a thirty or so minute tour and was very informative and answered every question the group had.
Afterwards we went up stairs and got to sample 5 or so beers and I had a barleywine in a cask that was extremely good.
Overall it was a great time and had a blast. Looking forward to going back there when I am back in PA. Cheers!

I'm going to have to go against the grain here and post a relatively positive review about this place. Nothing fancy here, nothing spectacular, and definitely not a beer snob hangout. But it does have plenty of TVs on the walls, a decent selection of beers on tap, and a pretty decent variety of food options. Service was reasonable, the waitresses came around every 5 minutes or so to check on us. We must have ordered drinks on at least 6 different occasions and they were responsive every time, even though it was dinnertime and they were fairly busy, maybe 80% capacity.
I ordered the ribs and, while the meat was less than spectacular, the sauce was out of this world! I know good barbeque when I taste it and their sauce was easily in my top 3. I would go back just for the sauce, quite frankly. I also had the mashed potatoes and they, too, were outstanding. Very flavorful and prepared well.
The beer, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. I had their chocolate-infused porter (Wanderlust, I think), which was watery and lacking flavor. I also had their "ultra-hoppy" Rescue IPA, which was also watery and below average, but drinkable. I didn't push my luck to try any other beers, as I feared they too would be watery and flavorless.
Prices were fair. A dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids, including 3 alcoholic beverages, was just over $50. Definitely not bad at all, especially for a tourist area.
Overall, a decent eating experience. Prices weren't outrageous and they had some "regular" beers on tap that would be suitable for a night out. And the ribs, oh man, the ribs. They, alone, were worth the trip.
