Amazing selection of Quebec beers. Made me wish I could bring more home to the states, or take a month-long beer tour of the province.

Service was friendly. They also had a pretty good selection of glasses. I grabbed Trois Pistoles glasses and a Fin du Monde glass there. Also picked up a 12-pack of Dieu du Ciel and a 6-pack of Brasseurs du Montreal's La Rebelle Quebecoise, plus some organic beer I'd never heard of from the province.

Like Vices and Versa, this is a great stop for visitors who want an idea of what the province has to offer.

Went here after drinking some brews at Dieu du Ciel just a few blocks away. They recommended it as a place to get not only their beers, but a good selection...and they were right.

Lots and lots of Canadian micros, plus the usual Canadian macros (Sleemans, etc) and Imported macros (Guinness, Corona, etc).

They keep a lot of singles cold, three coolers worth, and then have *most* of them on the long warm wall. Didn't see a lot of classics from Belgium, nor any US beers, but that worked for me because I was searching for Canada's finest. As I was shopping the shelves, the guy came up to me with an empty six-pack holder: nice touch!

My only real complaint, and this is kind of a big one: NO CREDIT CARDS. Either need Cash or a Canadian debit. No American debits. Would probably have bought more if I didn't have to use the ATM two blocks up and then come back to pay.

If you're going to Dieu du Ciel and you're from the US, definitely stop by.

Best part about Rahman is that its almost right next door to Dieu du Ciel, so two stops can be had in the same area. Rahman doesn't look so spectacular from the outside, kind of dingy, but they do have a very solid and diverse beer selection. They have three or four rows of beer, a few coolers, and stacks on the floor. They always have 6 packs of Dieu du Ciel beers, and many other Quebec micros. As noted, prices are a bit high, but I don't mind paying for the convenience of almost one stop shopping when I'm up in that area of town. I can always find enough beer to load up on there. Service is friendly, the proprietor is a nice guy and definitely knows his beer. Some good deals can be had on Christmas/combo packs with glassware as well.

UPDATED: Notching the service and selection up because the guy definitely knows his stuff but i am putting quality down a bit because i found some old beer (a McAuslan Framboise that expires Dec. 2006!) and the general state is a bit haphazard. Prices are still a little high also. Still a good place to buy beer but not my go to place.

ORIGINAL REVIEW MARCH 2007: From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once inside, i was surprised how big it was. That being said, it is a bit crowded, especially around the beer section as the aisles are somewhat small. Also, it is a kind of grocery store, so you have your foodstuffs & snacks. I like the display at the cash showing approx. 30 beer bottles laid out, some interesting Unibroues, but nothing i haven't seen at Lavigne or Joannette. Although, i did try a interesting raspberry beer from Quebec (sorry, the name escapes me, but it's on the wall, past the cold beer, near the bottom) Service is nice & somewhat knowledgeable, but again, nothing extraordinary, IMHO.

I finally paid a visit to this place yesterday after being in Montreal for almost three months. When I first walked in, I was pretty much overwhelmed at the number of beers this place had, and how many there were that I had never heard of... a lot of obscure Quebec micros it seemed. I browsed around for a bit, discovering some beers previously unknown to me from familiar breweries (St-Ambroise Citrouille, Unibroue Eau Benite). I liked that they sold one-offs of most of the beers (even if they only come in 6-packs elsewhere), meaning you can try a single one before committing to a pack.

I came in with a mental shopping list, and wasn't able to find all the ones I was looking for right away so I got some help from the guy stocking the shelves. In the end I got three beers from Charlevoix, three beers from Bieropholie, and the Unibroue 16 & 17 (which were $15 a piece but oh well). When paying for the beers, the clerk gave me a re-usable Boreale bag to carry my beers, as well as a free beer that he supposedly brewed (Paradisiac Cuivree II). Didn't pick up any DDC on this trip since I'm going to the brewpub on a regular basis these days, but I'll definitely be stocking up before I move out at the end of the month. I wish I lived closer to this place / was staying in Montreal longer cause I'd be at this place picking up a new random beer every few days.

Great selection of regional beers, both cold and room temperature for the trip back to Vermont. I was able to stock up on 12 oz Dieu du Ciel Peche Mortel for 2.99 CA so that makes it worth the trip. I rate the value a bit pricey because the Unibroue, 16, 17 etc, was significantly more expensive here than in Vermont, strange. One negative is they don't take credit cards, since we were traveling I was planning on charging it. Very tight space, be careful not to break anything. Conviently located a block or so from Don di Ciel.

Great selection of Quebec micros. Just a couple of minutes from Dieu Du Ciel! This was the first stop of many on my trip to Montreal and Quebec City so I stocked up for the hotels. The guy at the cash was friendly and had a few good recommendations. A little bit pricey compared to some other stores but the selection makes up for it. Some glassware and other nicknack's as well as your typical corner store stuff. I left with a trunk load of beers (lots of DDC and Unibroue) and a dent in my wallet.

Neat little beer store minutes away from DDC. The whole place is geared more to beer than the average depanneur, although you can still expect to find the odd grocery item lurking. The aisles are chock full of beer cases and navigating them can be quite precarious. It is worth it though, to find the entire range of DDC, as well as noted local breweries like Bieropholie. There is also a few bottles of harder to find beers (including Unibroue 16 and 17) above the cooler to the left of the entrance. There is a good selection of glasswear by the cash. Service is quiet but efficient and friendly. Prices were good, but seemed marginally higher than Metro Joanette in Verdun.

What a compliment to Dieu du Ciel! Amazing selection, amazing owner. The owner was extremely friendly once I admitted I was from California, he immediately started sharing his experiences helping other Californians who had heard about the place. Needless to say, he loves beer.

Selection is diverse and prices are good. Imports, domestic, craft, gift sets, they're all here. All the major craft brewers in Québec were featured in the store. Want to buy a gift set for a beer drinker? Get him/her, for example, a Stella/Hoe/Leffe gift set, complete with the brands' glass and 33 cl bottle.

If you're from out of town and have even the slightest interest in a regionally brewed beer offered here, buy it! You will regret not bringing home beer you can only find at a few Montréal vicinity stores.

I went here while strolling around Laurier, waiting for DDC to open on a Saturday afternoon(darned 3pm opening time!!!). The service was not as friendly as I would have hoped, but not terrible. That seems to be par for the course when you're a young guy buying "geeky" beer. But whatever.

I found the Dieu Du Ciel Péché Mortel in a six pack so I was pretty stoked. $13/6-pack seemed more than reasonable to me. There were countless other Quebecois Microbrews including all Unibroues, and McAuslan. Great selection. I wish I wasn't taking the Metro so I could have brought more with me. Prices were decent. I've seen some prices for the Peche that others have posted so I feel I got a great deal.

As has been mentioned previously, this place is nothing more than a corner store, really, with a great beer selection. I found hot dog buns beside the McAuslan boxed Anniversaire ale. Go figure.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. It's a great place to stop at before or after Dieu Du Ciel to pick up a few souvenirs.
