An aggressive pour out of the growler results in a one and half finger, light tan head that is rather dense. The body is a pretty amber-gold, favoring the amber. Lacing left behind is thick, clumpy, and sticky.

The smell has a nice, earthy, mineral-like quality to it, which highlights sweet and toasty malts. It's a very clean aroma which harkens to mind pear and peach. There is just a hint of a citrus hop aroma within, too.

Nicely rounded, nutty malt flavors arrive on my palate first, followed by a sweet, light fruitiness. The fruitiness transitions from a mellow pear-like flavor to a hint of citrus hops, before the mineral-like, dry finish wipes the palate clean. Well-balanced, fresh, and clean.

I'd say the word that most well-describes the mouthfeel is clean. The body of the beer is light-medium and the finish is fairly puckering and dry.

Amber/Red Ale is not my favorite style, but I found this beer very satisfying and I think it would be a very nice session beer. Light, fruity, nutty, clean, and just slightly hoppy. Well done.

Had a pint at the Fogcutter in Haines.
Deep rusty red / brown, mostly clear but slightly murky. Thin head and slight lacing of white. Nose is mild malts. Taste is non-distinct corn and malts, with a very slight fruity hint. Mouthfeel is a on the thin side. Easy going.
