First had: on tap at Pinocchio's, Media, PA
Poured a orchid-amber color, hazy, with a small bubbly head that mostly dissipated, initially leaving a few specks of lace on the glass. Aroma of raspberry candy, and a pleasantly mild must. More of the same in the taste, raspberry candy, a little sweet, a little tart, crackery malts, slightly musty, with a bit of a woody/earthy element, overall providing a rather dry finish. Light-medium body, ample carbonation, easily drinkable, but not something I'd want more than one serving of in a session.

Served in a Delirium Tremens tulip. Dark red-amber in color. Carbonation is just right, more like a Champagne. Really a nice taste of raspberries. Very berry. A hint of sourness along with wood makes for a touch of high-class vinegar. A dry touch of seeds and stems. Fruity and just slightly sweet to enhance the fruitiness. Aroma of woody, musty and cidery notes.
Between the Framboise and the Kriek, these are great drinkable Lambics to try. On tap at the recently-opened Fathom in San Diego.

Served from tap into a Trappe Door tulip. Poured ruby red with a two finger very light pink head that subsided to one finger slowly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, raspberry, sugar, and funk. The flavor was of sweet malt, raspberry, sugar, and subtle funk. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. I have had this one multiple times in the bottle and couldn’t pass it up on tap. I definitely did not make a mistake here. Unfortunately, this one didn’t shine as the last bottle that I had. All of the right flavors were there, but they just weren’t as intense as I remembered the bottle being. The mouthfeel was a little light on the carbonation aspect compared to what I enjoyed about this out of the bottle. Still an absolute must try regardless of serving type.

On tap at Churchkey. Served in a snifter. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a dark pink color with a short white head and just a few spots of lacing on the way down. Thin collar. The nose carries fresh raspberries along with a bit of earthy must and just a touch of acidity. The flavor is predominantly raspberries, but also has a slight medicinal quality. Body is light and dry with some medicinal character. Very light acidity. Could be a good starter lambic.

On tap at ChurchKey poured in a sampler glass. Pours a reddish color with a pink head. Aroma is of tart raspberries, yogurt notes, light funk, some musty old aromas and subtle wood and vinegar. The flavor follows the nose, lightly sour with lots of raspberry and almost raspberry yogurt like flavor, some subtle funk like hay and some musty old notes with the vinegar. The body is light with a dry mouthfeel.

On tap at the hudson st. stackhouse the other day.
The beer pours a slighty hazy, orange amber color with red highlights. The nose is pretty impressive in a lambic sort of way, as I pick up considerable sour funk and vinegar, but with some nice fruit and vanilla poking through as well. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, except the sour funk dominated the flavor scene a bit too much for my palate. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a fairly long, sweet tart, sour finish. Alcohol is barely an afterthought in this beer.
An impressive lambic, though at least for my palate, a bit less sour funk and a touch more fruit would have been appreciated.

Served on tap in a tulip at Hopleaf.
Appearance: My pour is a full ruby color with a thin wispy off-white collar that leaves no lacing.
Smell: The aroma is mostly sweet and slightly tart raspberries. There is a soft funky, leathery, and oaky aroma as well.
Taste: The flavor starts out with a blast of sweet raspberry, a flavor that pretty much dominates each sip. Toward the end a more acidic and vinegary tartness comes into play with a little bit of oak as well, but my overall impression is that it is a sweet raspberry beer.
Mouthfeel: This lambic has a moderate acidity, carbonation on the light side, a slightly syrupy nature, and a body that is medium for the style.
Overall: Raspberry sours are among my favorite style and fruit treatment, but this one was just done with a flavor that is a little too casual for my liking. Simply sweet, there is just not a ton of complexity here to ever pique my interest.

I had this on-tap at the Churchkey. Poured into a snifter.
Appearance: Pours a clear ruby red color with no head at all.
Smell: Tons of raspberry with a good amount of sweetness. There is a very mild vinegar note as well.
Taste: Sweet raspberries up front yield to herbal bitterness. There is also a mild, woody characteristic as well. Not in love with the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with tingly carbonation and a very dry finish.
Overall: I thought there was an odd taste in the finish of this one. I don't think I would have another.

On tap at Churchkey for Night of the Living Ales
Very red pour with a huge pink head. The lacing and retention are phenomenal. Very sweat aroma, no funk or acidity. Tart raspberries and fruits take it over. The taste is of sweet, dry raspberries. Not particularly funky, the beer still steers clear of the "fruit juice" moniker sometimes placed on sweeter lambics. Dry finish, strange aftertaste. Tart and carbonated well. It was very sweet, but not on the level of Timmermans thankfully. I enjoyed it.

A: crimson, clear with a little silt.
S: fresh raspberries, apple and cranberry juice.
T: raspberry concentrate with a slightly sour, slightly bitter, slightly malty finish that grounds the fruit and reminds you that it is still a beer.
M: soft on the palate, low but smooth carbonation throughout.
O: like a delicious raspberry soda with a dash of malt drink that is highly sessionable. I think I ordered three of them.

On tap in champagne flute. Nice 1 1/2" white/slightly pink head that stuck around for a few minutes. Raspberry aroma. Fresh crushed raspberries. Enticing. Ruby red and clear. Lots of bubbles dancing around up to the top of the glass.
Fresh raspberry in the forefront. Just a pinch of barnyard/leather funk. Delicious. Sour finish that is crisp. The raspberry flavor is so fresh. This beer would have been one dimensional if not for the funk in the middle. Very drinkable. No cloying sweetness.
On of the few good examples of framboise that I have had on tap. Yum. My wife was very pleased with the choice!

Had this beer on tap at The Birch in Norfolk VA. Served in a goblet. Color was dark ruby red with no head or lacing noted. Nose was raspberries with a slight hint of oak.
Taste was raspberries, much more tart than sweet with a very dry finish. No real funk or barnyard that I expected which was dissapointing.
Mouthfeel was light and clean, almost thought I was drinking wine instead of beer. Absolutely no carbonation noted whatsoever.
If you like wine then this is for you. This is a beer to get a wine drinker drinking with you and be none the wiser. It was OK but I would not order it again unless I wanted wine instead of beer.

A young lambic, this one is only supposed to exhibit mild levels of funk and acid. dark reddish purple with a pink head. nose is real, fresh raspberry with an underlying oak, vanilla, funk and tannin. taste is well-balanced between sweet and sour and carries just enough funk to let you know this is the real thing. medium body. sort of slick with nice tingle from carbonation. very easy to drink, and a real pleasure that this is available at one of dc's best music venues. pfunk and oud beersel framboise... a winning combination for sure.

Fresh off the tap!
Rosy red, clear, bright, with an amazingly pink head, puffy, pillowy, large, lace-leaving, slow to crumble.
Bold aromatics, sends the sweet/tart raspberry-ness far and wide. This is the nose that hits the guy on the other end of the bar, whether he wants it or not. I'm going to pull it up to my nose...
There we go, real raspberries, tart and sweet, weird, fresh, and funky. Love it.
Taste: soft, then zesty, then sour, next flush with fruit. Mmmm, pucker, then the sweet, then the sour, then the zippy refreshment, and the smiles. Funky, funky lambic time! Mmm, delicious. This is the right stuff, never too sweet, the right mix of fruit and funk!
Tassss-teeee!!! Way to go, Oud Beersel, this is the stuff! Good as they get!

Pours a ruby red with a tiny offwhite head.
Smell is of tart fresh raspberry with just the slightest hint of funk.
Taste is of fresh, bright raspberry with a bit of funk on the back. I would have liked to get more sour in this beer.
Nice and wet on the tongue. Not too much body.

Appearance was ruby pink in color, with a miminal head served in an 8oz snifter.
Taste and smell was nice nice raspberry fruit tartness, with little to any sour from random bugs or age. Nice balanced lambic, semi sweet, semi tart, approachable and enjoyable for sure.
Mouthfeel was medium carbonation and body.
I would order this again if in the mood when available. respectable for the style.

9oz serving on draft at Capone's in a snifter
Oude Beersel's fram has a deep dark red berry look with some light shades of purple. No lacing comes from it and it's hard to come up with a cap, it's all good though. Smell is of weak raspberries with a tinge of chocolate and lactic sourness. It tastes like raspberries and that's pretty much it, not the boldest I've had but good enough. Not really complex for me though, pretty simple. The feel is a bit tart and a step below the medium side. Carb is stable. After having this I don't feel the need to have it again.

Pours a clear raspberry red with with a fine-bubbled slightly pinkish beige head. Rich aroma is mainly raspberry with a firm malty undertone. Malty, yeasty, raspberry flavor is both sour and sweet, quite pleasing. Texture is lively and quite tingly. Definitely for anyone who loves raspberry!

Draft lambic night at the Tap and Table.
Due to the extreme low lighting in the T&T its hard to get a great look at what your drinking. They poured it in a wine goblet probably 10-12 ounces. The color was raspberry with no head. The smell was pretty much nothing, only a hint of raspberry. The taste was very good. In the front of the mouth you get the raspberry flavor and when it gets to the back the sourness really kicks in. This is a nice toasting drink, I probably wouldn't want more than two in a sitting.

Gave this a shot after really enjoying a Cantillon framboise earlier in the week.
Appearance- Nice deep red color. Minimal head. I love the color of these beers.
Smell- Fairly muted. Not getting as much funkiness as expected. None of the tartness, just a mellow raspberry.
Taste- Um, some raspberry. Surprisingly sweet. I was looking for some lambic sour funkiness, but it's sort of sweet and bland. Doesn't really seem like a lambic. Just a raspberry beer. But the raspberry isn't even that prevalent. A hint of lime.
Mouthfeel- Pretty decent. Not as much carbonation as I'd like.
Drinkability- Goes down easy. It's inoffensive.
Totally eh. Those looking for a good sour lambic should look elsewhere. Those looking for a moderately raspberry flavored mellow beer could do worse.

Beer served on draft at a local beer bar. Served at 48 degrees F. Beer is BRIGHT RED! no head, carbonation low.
Smells tart or sour, fruity. Definitely some raspberries in there.
Beer is buttery in the mouth, medium bodied, and very sour not tart. Hurts my mouth to drink it. Finishes completely and wet, a very interesting beer. Even though the beer didn't seem carbonated, once in my mouth it was filled with carbon and it helped to bring out the sour notes in the beer (probably too much). Drinkability is really high and so is mouthfeel. Overall a great great beer.

A- Poured a bright raspberry red with no head and no visible carbonation. The beautiful color is the only thing that saves the 'appearance' rating...
S- Smells cloyingly sweet... like raspberry Kool Aid mixed with Luden's Wild Cherry Cough Drops. None of the acidic, lactic or funky notes I would expect...
T- Overly sweet raspberry syrup with some medicinal notes. No detectable hop character. The finish is long and sweet at first, and then becomes SLIGHTLY tart... definitely not tart enough for the style.
M- Thin body with coarse carbonation... if this beer must be sweet, then I want to feel some unattenuated sugar... alas, it is thin...
D- Drinkability? Not so much. If it were to be sweet, like Lindeman's Framboise, then I'd want much more mouthfeel... on the other side of the coin, I was hoping for a nice tart raspberry flavor and didn't get that either. Ultimately, I finished the glass, but will not be ordering again anytime soon.

Had on-tap at Trappeze in Athens, GA.
Pours a dark ruby color with a one-finger pink head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.
Smells of fragrant berries - closer to berry preserves than fresh berries. There's not a whole lot of tartness in the nose.
Tastes similar to how it smells. Sweet berry flavors that border on being overly sweet but don't quite cross the line. As with the smell there's almost no tartness.
Mouthfeel is good. It's just a bit on the thin side with active carbonation.
Drinkability is OK. I finished my glass but won't be ordering another.
Overall this isn't cloyingly sweet but it's still too sweet for my liking. Worth a shot if you like framboise's on the sweeter side.

Oude Beersel Framboise has a dark pink body with a light pink head, and there really isn't much else to say about the appearance of it.
The taste is very slightly sour and slightly sweet; the two are mixed together pretty well. Raspberry flavors are certainly noticeable also. Honestly, it reminds me of a dry champagne that has raspberries mixed in it, which is interesting.
Mouthfeel is light and crisp, pretty much on target. Very dry, especially in the finish.
Really drinkable due to its balance and really dry finish and body.
