Located in the northwest end of town, there are few bars in the area (one other being a brewpub). Parking is ample as they have their own lot which used to be shared with a couple stores that are now empty. Even when the stores were open, after 9pm those places were closed which left a good deal of parking. Fairly standard interior for a pub in Regina, but it is comfortable and well seperated. One area is tables and booths, another where a long bar juts out into the room, another area with the VLTs (Video Lottery Terminals that seem to be everywhere), and another area with video games and pool tables.
The quality of their beers is pretty much average. They intend to not offend and therefor their beers are fairly bland, or just a ghost of what a real beer of that style should be. However, this is perhaps the best brewpub in terms of quality compared to the other pubs in this city that brew with this intent. None of their beers were offensive, but nothing really good either.
Service was pretty hit and miss. Things were great when we first got there at supper time, but when it got busier (around 7:30) we suddenly didn't see our waitress for long periods of time. It took us 40 mins from the time we asked for our bill until the credit cards rang through and we could leave. That's way too long to just pay if you ask me. Our server was friendly and had a good knowledge of their menu and beer offerings and seemed to genuinely care about how we felt about our food and drinks.
Pretty much average selection of beers. 4 different house brews and 6 macros on-tap. Basically nothing for imports except the likes of Corona, Heinekein, etc.
The food was better than expected and fairly inexpensive compared to other pubs. My steak sandwich was tasty and tender, but a little underdone and I got a pile of fries with it. However, the cooked carrots were extremely salty and unedible. Everyone else had good sized portions and commented favourably about their meals (with exception of the carrots).
The beer is priced the same as everywhere basically (government regulated pricing) but the food seemed to be a dollar or two cheaper than most places.
This is one of a chain of brewpubs in Regina and Saskatoon. I used to spend alot of time here, but haven't been often in recent years. We were all pleasantly surprised by mostly everything and decided to make it a point to go again soon. Probably the best of the 4 in the chain in Regina. All the beers at each place in this chain can be hit or miss, and maybe we hit a good night, but it was very busy and pretty good for the price you paid. None the less, for truly good or great beer, you need to look to another place, but if you're happy with average beer and decent food with a good price tag, this might be your place.
