355ml bottle from a 6-pack purchased at the Hyland Centre Beer Store. Pours a bright yellow hue with a sliver of white froth, some chill haze, and spots of lacing on the pint glass. Lots of bubbly carbonation in the body. Smell is lemony hops, plastic, yeast, flower petals, perfume, cookie dough, and honey. Very complex and aromatic, especially for a beer of this weight. Taste is soft cracker-like malts, sweet cereal grains, biscuit, touch of metal, grassy, lemony, and weedy hops, gentle Saaz bitterness to end. Medium mouthfeel is crisp upfront, creamy-foamy carbonation mid-palate, zesty and prickly hop bite transitions to a dry finish with more lemon on the cough.
Holy shit - this beer is LOADED with bold flavours and aromas. Paddock Wood proves that a session pilsner doesn't have to be boring. A top flight example of the style, and easily my second favourite pils after Victory Prima. I'll be grabbing much more of this now that it's available in London. Bravo!

Poured from the bottle into a sam adams pint glass.
Creamy and three finger fluffy white head, good retention and staying power. Brassy yellow clear body, almost pale amber, with little rising carbonation at all.
Nose is mellow citrus lemon and lime. Some classic grass like hop, bakery bready malts and candy store almost minty fresh. Really nice.
Taste follows the nose and a wonderful balance. Good sweetness, matching citrus and candy grapefruit. A little bit of baby aspirin. Mouthfeel, is dense but little carbonation, good malt backbone coating. Grass angle seems lost but so much imteresting and nicer flavors I dont mind.
Overall, very memorable, very different for this style also, quite enjoying this, would love more.

Poured into a flared pilsner glass, with a big head of froth, which lingered, receding slowly, carbonation is initially quite lively, and remains quite strong. Colour is of a bright gold.
Nose is what I would expect of a pils, touch of crisp mineral smell.
Flavour is quite enjoyable. It has some nice balance here. It is quite refreshing and flavourful.
Mouthfeel is medium, with a good balance of bitterness. Goes down smoothly. Leaves a bit of a tongue-coating bitter finish.
Overall its an easy-drinking, flavoursome pilsner, without obvious flaws, refreshing and not over the top bitter. Enjoyed it.

355ml bottle poured into pint glass 9/10/11
A clear light yellow with lots of bubbles of all shapes, sizes and speeds feeding a short lived thumbs width of bone white foam that leaves lace where it existed
S zesty lemon with some hops and grainy sweetness
T nicely hopped with a floral aspect that works well for it, a little sweet but not a bad example of the style
M refreshing zip to it, I wouldn't say it finishes clean but the aftertaste is tame and just a little bite
O I like the hop profile of this one it works within the style, pretty good beer that would make a good session
I thought I'd reviewed this before but maybe not, this would go well with some summer sun but a chilly fall evening seems to work to

341ml bottle poured into a 16oz Pint glass.
A - Just under a finger-and-a-half of puffy white head. Glowing golden-yellow hue. Not much head retention. No lacing to speak of.
S - Tons of piney hops and sour lemon scent. Lots of bitter citric aroma here. A little floral, but pretty earthy as well. Grassy.
T - Citric zest and clean, piney hops. A little drying tart feel on the finish. Overall really clean and easy to drink. The zesty hops add a nice crisp feel. Grainy malt backbone sits underneath the bittering qualities.
M - Light but prickly carbonation. Pretty dry, hoppy finish. Clean and light body, but not too light.
D - Surprisingly bitter and hoppy. Admittedly I am pretty unfamiliar with Pilseners, and I've never tried any Czech Pilseners, but this was pretty good. A solid dryness and bitter feel in the finish. Overall, a clean and crisp brew with a simple but enjoyable flavor.

12oz Bottle
Appearance – Clear yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is a high amount of carbonation showing and there is a good amount of lacing. The head lasted for around 4 minutes before it was gone.
Smell - Grains, floral notes, hops, lemons, malts
Taste & Mouth - The beer has an average amount of carbonation. I can taste breads/grains mixed with light hops and a bit of a floral spiciness. When I had my first smell of the beer it reminded me a bit of a Prima Pils, but unfortunately it doesn't taste like it smells. Maybe I've just got an old bottle, but it has an odd musty taste to it. It finishes with bready slightly bitter aftertaste.
Overall – I'd really like to try this one on draft to see how it compares. It definitely has some promise.

An excellent Czech-style pilsner.
Cloudy straw gold with an overwhelming effervescence - different from my last bottle which was more reasonably carbonated . That variability is the only negative point towards this otherwise very well crafted beer.
Delightful hop aroma that really brings back Plzn memories. Well balanced and refreshing flavours including grain, bread and a hint of grassiness. The sweet finish has an underlying hop bitterness. Well done, Paddock Wood!

Pours a clear golden colour with a moderate, soapy white head that settles as a collared film and leaves light, spotty lacing.
Has a very pleasant smell consisting of a mild soap tone, flowers and fresh grains. A subtle malt note, a hint of green tea and a honey-like sweetness balance out the body of the aroma.
The taste is hop-forward, clean and crisp. A slight malt sweetness is accompanied by a very solid dryness and a tart, almost sour finish.
The beer is light-bodied with a medium-heavy carbonation. An oily sensation comes through on the tongue before a slight syrupy aftertaste takes over
A refreshing, easy-drinking pilsner that doesn't take any risks, but delivers a really solid and clean taste. It pairs well with salads, grilled meats and snack foods.

A - Poors a slightly hazy pale yellow, with a small amount of white head. Poor retention.
S - Smells strongly of pilsner malt and dms. Grassy hops as well.
T - Bitter hops, kind of acrid. Grassy and herbal hop flavoring. Some buttery corn as well.
M - Quite bitter for a pils, a pit puckering. Otherwise good body.
D - Drinkability isn't quite as high as what most are in the style.

Tried this a year or two ago for the first time. When I tried it first, it was one of my first craft beers from outside Ontario. I was very surprised by the flavour of this and confused as to whether I liked it so it will be nice to revisit.
A - Pours a golden/straw colour with minimal carbonation and a thin cap of white head.
S - Lot's of grassy hops. Lemon zest and toasted malts are present too. Slight soapiness as well.
T - Good blend of that lemony aspect with the grassiness of those hops and a bitter but not too bitter finish. That soapy element is there throughout too.
M - Medium bodied interestingly for this abv. Medium carbonation as well.
D - Definately a session beer. The weather isn't making this as refreshing as it could be but worth more than one.

A - Pours a hazy pale straw colour with a thin layer of head that settles to small islands with no real lacing.
S - Classic pilsener style with grassy hops, earthy undertones and some slight bubblegum notes.
T - The grassy hops and sweet corn flavours are dominant, with a bit of wheat and sour lemon also coming through. The sweet corn flavours linger on the tongue.
M - A lighter bodied ale, but suitable for the style. Not overly watery but goes down smooth and finishes with a touch of dryness.
D - This stuff is easily poundable and a great example of the style. The flavours come through nicely and make it an ideal summer drink or for when you want to give your taste buds a break from the powerful ales. Very tasty indeed.

A - very bubbly clear golden, short white head dissipated to a very thin covering
S - floral and grassy hops with a corn/grainy note, very crisp
T - somewhat different than the smell with a very buttery corn and grainy malt character, clean grassy hop note, slightly peppery
M - high carbonation, clean and crisp with a a dry finish
D - a great example of the czech pils characteristics, crisp and clean, hoppy, simple yet flavourful and easy drinking

Maybe I was hoping for more, but not overy exceptional looking pils. Bright, clear aMber clour, smallish head that head a cap for a decent time. some lacing.
Grassy, herbal, slightly sour
Taste fits the label well enough. Smooth grainy malts with a cracker/biscuit flavour. Impressive hop bitterness. Finish is quite hoppy, dry, and somewhat herbal in character.
Feel reminds me a lot like Pilsner Urquel. Lower carbonation ( the bitterness provides the snap ) and sort of slick.
A Canadian version of the aforementioned Czech 'classic' .
Found after finishing the second one, which had warmed a bit, a hint of dill. Thought I'd throw that in....cheers.

A hop forward brew with grassy and spice aromas and some citrus. It is golden coloured (clearly unfiltered) with a white head. The malt is in the background to balance out the taste. I like the bitterness and aroma of the hops, and the overall balance of the beer. A session beer that is very drinkable.
