There is quite a bit of power in this light golden beer. The head is modest but there is a nice firm and slightly rough and lingering thirst quenching bitterness that really fires up the taste buds. Does exactly what an Octoberfestbier should do. Cunningly lethal too.
Can't understand why reviews here are so low unless people don't understand the style. Could easily drink multiple 1 litre steins of this. Another top notch Augustiner beer.

Very light golden looking and clear with a pinky sized, foamy white head and plenty of bubles rising to the surface. The head stays okay, with only a slight initial reduction in size but the beer just looks too light to me.
Mainly a malty lager aroma to begin with some sweet malts piled on top and a little bit of biscuit and grassy hops. There is some citrus notes in there too but not a lot and has a clean finish.
Almost skunky to begin with a lot of sweet but not overly strong malts, there is some ctirus and grassy hops to but again both are light. I got some biscuit and lemon but not much eles really. It was an okay tasting beer but pretty basic in my opinion.
Light medium with lively carbonation and a smooth, wet mouthfeel. There is almost no bitterness in the end as well.
This is another beer that started to grow on me as I got further down the glass. There was quite a good malty base to this one with a some nice light hops and a biscuit like taste on top. It went down very well and would make a great session beer.

Enjoyed this beer on my first trip to the Augustiner Braustubl in Salzburg December of 2010. As a caveat, I will say that any beer you have at this establishment is already going to be better than your average brew due to location, and the fact that they serve it in ceramic krugs and locals insist the krugs be warmed in this giant fountain prior to having a beer pulled. You then buy a beer ticket and wait in line to have your beer poured from a giant wooden keg. Truly an amazing experience and highly recommended. I digress..
Appearance: Light orange, not as dark as many marzen biers but darker than hofbrau and lowenbraus oktoberfest offerings. Nice two finger head that doesn't dissipate for quite some time.
Smell: Super malty, very little hop
Taste: Tastes like smells, lightly toasted malt characteristic which is terrifically balanced with mild bittering hops, leads to that, "I just had a sip but I want another one now" pilz'y dryness to the back of your throat.
Mouthfeel: Kind of blew my load on this above, 'nuff said.
Overall: Fantastic beer, my favorite of this style. Shame I've only had it a couple of times and was fortunate enough to get it in December. Recommended highly if you can get your hands on it, or anything by Augustiner for that matter.

I was first introduced to this by a friend from Munich who used to bring some back with him from the Oktoberfest. I tried it again a couple of years later and it was very refreshing. It is exteremely light on the tongue and goes down very easily. Nice malty taste. I can remember drinking many of these back in Germany and still having a clear head the next morning. One of my favorites.

on-tap at a local pub for the season
A- Golden/very light orange colour. Big, wonderful, white fluffy head, just like those you see in oktoberfest pictures. A hint of lacing on the glass
S- Quite weak sweet malts aroma, with a herbal/lemonish hint underneath
T- Pretty much what the taste suggested. Sweet malts, not as crisp as in other lagers and hence more on the biscuity side than on the grain side. Hops flavours bring a slight herbal feel and some lemon hints (expecially on the tongue), though with almost no bitterness at all
M- Very light body (expecially light given the style) and actually quite little carbonation. The result is a smooth, almost oily mouthfeel that really helps drinkabilty but has the beer feeling a little flat
O- Exceptional drinkabilty and smoothness but not so much besides this. Quite light in body and flavor for the style, it tastes pretty much like a standard Helles; actually, it is highly similar to their Lagerbier Hell

Pours excellent clear light golden beer with magnificent white head. A unique manure aroma of malt. A bit citruses and herbal hops' bitterness in taste, very refreshing and drinkable. Alcohol gradually makes your brains gone pop. Very upmarket maerzen beer!

Had several times at local bars in Munich last week.
Pours a very light honey yellow orange color with perfect clarity. The carbonation streams up the glass and the head is a pillowy white color. The color is typical of traditional German oktoberfest lagers. The aroma is sweet estery malts with some acidic undertones. Really fresh smelling. Great clean flavors of lemon peel, orange zest and caramel maltiness. The cleanliness of this is second to only the helles. Nicely carbonated and light on the palate. This is meant for drinking in volume. Great beer, too bad you can only get this in Munich!

This poured with a nice, large, foamy, frothy, sudsy, white head that slowly settles and lots of lace. Color is a clear yellow with small bubble trails. Aroma is malt, hop, grain, cereal, a bit of skunk (this bottle came from a gas station). Flavor is ok; a little on the sweet side, but does have some good malt, and hop flavors along with the other qualities of master brewing - floral, herbal, grain, and cereal. Body is ok and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and on the short side. Still, I prefer the old red Okfest beers and not the sweeter pale lagers.
