A - A very cloudy orangey-gold coloured beer with thick, large bubbled and long lasting head.
S - Very bitter smells, mostly strong hop scents and hints of pine citrus and flowers.
T - A Very bitter taste attacks instantly, followed by lots of hops, bringing with it the taste of dried leaves, pine needles and flowers. Flavours of citrus, sour lemons, and even earth can be detected. Very similar to their tap IPA, but concentrated and enhanced. All of this bitter cask-conditioned greatness is wrapped around a warm center of delicious soft, sweet bready malts. This beer is very dry and has a considerable amount of clove taste. It has a strong aftertaste and is a very drying beer.
M - This beer is incredibly rough and even a little harsh. It feels very drying, yet thirst quenching. Tastes and feels almost as though one were chewing on fallen leaves and pine needles covered earth. It even zings with carbonation despite cask conditioning.
D - Perhaps too rough and bitter for most, but incredibly drinkable for myself and other hopheads.
This beer is alive and is rarely the same, every batch is a little different, but it is not always such a pleasure, this was perhaps the best I'd had. This beer was enjoyed in May 2007 at the start of a brand new batch.
NOTE: This beer is only available in the basement bistro.
