From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on March 1, 2012. It pours medium amber to copper with a huge, fluffy head that lingers for the session. The aroma is pleasant with its combination of sweet malts, yeast, and grapes. The body is medium and chewy. Whereas there is an aroma of grapes on the nose, the fruity flavor is closer to that of an apple. It also brings out sweet malts and the finish is clean and lingering. A nice red ale.

Served from a 12oz bottle.
A: Ruby red color at the barrier of being light brown. One finger head that receded quickly into a ring around the sides of the glass. Clarity is good.
S: Sweet malts and a touch of floral hops.
T: Sweet caramel like malts so typical of the genre. Hops are also dosed accordingly and provide appropriate bitterness and balance to what would otherwise probably be a very sweet beer. The hops are some what floral and maybe a bit grassy but not all that powerful in flavor presence besides providing accurate bitterness. Quiet mild but still nicely done and well balanced. Perhaps a bit cidery and a touch displeasing as it begins to warm.
M: Carbonation is well done and the beer is quiet clean and easy drinking. Finish is dry.
O: Pretty good beer. I'd been waiting a while to get my hands on some as I always see it on trips to vermont but never get some. Might buy again and the experience was enjoyable.

A bit of a sourdough-esk aroma, taste of the sourness is balanced well with a grassy hop finish. Mouthfeel is on par for the style, well carbonated, maybe just a hair too much so for my taste. Overall, first time rating this beer, been drinking it on and off for 3+ year, so obviously I like it and return to it. Brewery produces quality beer.

A dark rusty mahogany color with a whispy bit of white bubblage on top and very little lacing. The aroma offers a pleasant citrus and cider malt with a hint of sweet brown bread. The flavor pretty well matches the nose though the sweetness is muted into more of the tart lemon cider. The hops really burst into more of a grassy deal. I get a distant suggestion of chocolate but nothing more than that. Grassy cider dominates. Not my favorite but definitely okay. It’s on the heavier side of light body with a bit of a watery feel despite moderate carbonation. Grassy stuff never wins me over so maybe others will like this more than me.
