Its light taste of special malts, flavored with Flanders hops and its aromas of high fermentation, gives La Goudale all its character and balance.

Pours gold with lacing from the white head sticking to the glass. So far, so good. Aroma is muted...really nothing off, but only some light hop and malt aroma, and a bit of that unfortunately euro-lager scent. Taste is extremely okay. By that, I mean there are no off flavors, but it is unremarkable. Pleasant, some bready malt, enough hops to balance but not jump out. Medium body. Overall, very drinkable but nothing special. Actually, not a bad beer at all, but it just doesn't give you a reason to go buy another.

Poured from a 750ml corked and caged bottle.
It's the first beer I had from this style and it was quite a bit sweeter than anticipated. It is mostly felt in the middle of the sip and after that the alchocol and carbonation balances it out.

50 cL tall boy can, cold, into a snifter, Toulouse, France.
Fair foam over gold brew.
Nose brings bready lemon with perceivable sweetness.
Taste is hoppy Belgian ale with notes of bread, orange, light bitterness.
Mouth and carbonation are medium.
Overall, nice pop-anywhere sud!

Poured from a can just under fridge temp. Pours clear yellow with a good amount of white head. The nose is lemon, vanilla, wheat, apricot, and a sweet candy. The taste is really nice. Super smooth. Orange creamsicle, banana, a bit of leather, caramel, wheat, and a nice earthy note. I really like this. Medium bodied and a nice subtle sweet aftertaste.

Poured from the 750ml corked and caged bottle in Paris. The beer was a nice dark gold color. Smell was slightly yeasty and earthy. Taste was a bit spicy with light fruit and earthy hops. This was a nice surprise. Dangerously drinkable for it's relative strength.

Les Brasseurs de Gayant "La Goudale"
75cl brown glass bottle, corked & caged
Notes: Brewed from pale and caramel malts with 3 Flemish hop varieties and coriander and bitter orange peel. Slightly hazy deep golden/amber colored body beneath a full head of slightly off-white foam. The head retention and lacing are both very good. Aroma of grainy and bready malt along with dried straw, woody spiciness, some floral character, soft orange marmalade, dried apricot, dull apple, and a hint of a clove-like phenol from the yeast. The flavor follows but shows the malt to be nutty, gently caramelish, and somewhat honey-like as well. The woody spiciness and soft fruits remain, and it's a bit grassy, herbal, and peppery as well. It's sweetish up front and across the middle but balanced by a moderate to median bitterness that kicks up in the semi-dry finish with the spiciness, and perhaps alcohol, adding something in. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp with a fine-bubbled, seemingly natural carbonation that warms to become quite smooth. Really quite nice all around. Fairly complex and highly satiating.

Just fine. Fine and good. Air conditioning on a hot day, a double meat, mustard instead of spread, add whole grilled onion and pepperchini at in n out after a long day, and fresh, warm skivvies out of the dryer on a cold day. Just give it to me.
