This seems almost more like a pale wheat beer than a tripel. It's a nice beer, the carbonation gives it a good refreshing feel. With in the flavor profile are some citrus, zest, doughy bread and white pepper. The breadiness comes and goes, as do some of the hops. Kind of grassy. Flavors are light, though. A tripel yeast profile seems lacking.
A nice beer for hot days, probably good with a salad.

sorry, Tripel Dipsea, not Triple....
Pours a slightly hazy amber, about a finger-and-a-half of soapy head that disappears, leaving a short bandana at the rim, no real lacing to speak of. Aromas of sweet malt, some raspberry, banana and maybe cherry too. Something akin to light cinnamon in there also. Unique but not mind blowing. Interesting flavor. Lot of slick and chewy mouthfeel. Almost like a milkshake. Flavor is very malty up front, then morphs into some Belgian yeast and finally crawls through a banana-alcohol finish. The carbonation works well in here. The finish is short and carries a strange hoppy effervescence..almost tingly on the tongue. Not super-Belgiany by any means, and the finish kills this by being too short and tweaky. In the mid-price range for a bomber. I could not drink more than a bomber of this at a time.
What I like Most: Probably the aroma profile.
What I like Least: The strange, tingly finish.
Verdict: OK but not worth seeking out.

Bottle. Thanks to forgetfu for this one(!).
Appearance is orange gold with some thin white head. Nose reveals some bitter orange peel and orange oil, some faint hay and a little white pepper. Palate is crisp with a little acidity hiding in there, maybe a "funny" feast strain here? It adds a nice layer of complexity to a somewhat simple flavor profile of pale caramel malt and orange preserves. "Fruit leathers" come to mind and leafy greens as well. ABV is well hidden but has a nice warming affect in the throat.
An interesting brew. Decent and worth trying.

At the source. Pleasant clear golden copper. Served at the appropriate temperature with zero head, low carbonation.
Aroma is subdued sweet malts, light fruits, minor spices, possibly vanilla and no hint of alcohol.
Taste follows the nose, quite sweet. The alcohol stays surprisingly restrained even as it warms. This brew would actually improve with a pronounced peppery alcohol finish - I rarely think this. Slightly viscous mouthfeel.
A decent triple but the complexity is somewhat shallow. I would prefer a tad more yeast induced flavors and a little less sweet. Taste and aroma warm well. BA says abv is 9.1 but brewer says current batch is 10.0
cheers

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a New Belgium 0,4L tulip.
A: Pours a golden amber hue with a nice creamy head that dissipates after a few sips but is there the entire beer with very nice lacing from start to finish.
S: Spicy vanilla fruitiness with a nice liquory maltiness and some hoppiness in there too . Real nice.
T: Not what I had anticipated based on it's appearance and smell. I thought it was too malty and sweet - much sweeter than your average Tripel style beer and no hop at all. I will say that the flavor definitely improved as it warmed up a little but just wasn't there for me overall.
M: Medium bodied, somewhat creamy and just lightly carbonated.
D: It's a decent drink for it's high alcohol content. Glad I tried it but won't be revisiting it in the future. Just average overall outside of it's appearance and smell.
Side note - my bottle (which looks much different than the one displayed above) is 9.2% ABV not 9.1% as listed above.

Poured from a 22oz. bomber into a wine glass, the Dipsea pours golden with a hint of haze, and sports a half inch of short lived foam. Reduces to a light film and offers light lacing. Overall a bit deep in color and a bit short in retention for a favorite style.
Nose offers a moderate yeast sense and is balanced by a somewhat deep malt presence. Somewhat sweet and cloaking yet not so much as many an American Tripel. Yet alas, where are the yeast complexities? Nowhere to be found apparently.
Flavor becomes richer and richer as the beer breathes. I like a good Tripel to sit for a while and breathe as it warms. Here it just gets sweeter and simpler over time. ABV is hidden well, yet the viscosity of this beer easily exceeds what is required. In the end a viscous concoction that offers an occasionally interesting nose and a flavor that is light and clean though rather boring.
An interesting Tripel with some good genes and worth a look, though could use some refinement. Improves in flavor with warming and offers an increasingly complex nose and flavor with warming. Nice though not epic..

Pours a honey color with a small white head which dissipates quickly and leaves very little lacing.
The aroma is of sweet malt with a bit of a floral presence.
Taste is somewhat muted, but balanced. Sweet malt and caramel, without much of a yeast presence and despite the ABV, no sign of alcohol.
Mouthfeel was slightly on the thinner side, but not too much so. There was a nice smoothness and just about the right amount of carbonation.
This is not a beer that has any attributes that jump out at you, in either a positive or negative way. It's got a way to go to be ranked up there with the top Tripels, but then again it's not an expensive brew and I felt it was worth the money.

Trouble with Triples at $9 a bomber is you have to compare them with Unibroue offerings at $6 a bomber ( in BC). This is a pleasant offering that develops as it warms but the end result is that it lacks real complexity and finish. It felt like it should be bigger and have more finesse for the style. Will try some of their other beers since I like Moylans so much but this is a one time buy

A - Light honey / dark straw, somewhat murky. Not much head, leaves to ring fast. Some cling lace.
S - Funk, barn, typical Belgian yeast notes.
T - Full flavored, nice clean solid malt, not too sweet, accompanied by sharp funk and barny type flavors.
M - Medium bodied, pretty good balance considering the strength of the flavors.
D - Nice beer, good to try, but one is enough.

RBSG09 on tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear pale gold with a wet white head. Bruised apple aroma, some mealy wheat notes. Fruit salad flavor with apples and bananas, maybe pears. A little underattenuated and no real spiciness. Finish is dry and malty. A typical mediocre American tripel.

I think that I may have gotten a bad bottle of this beer. Little to no carbonation as I opened and poured. Good color, OK smell....sweet and hoppy a bit. I've never had to pour out a beer before, but as I struggled through half the bottle of uncarbonated sweet malty crapness...I decided that I would dump it. Two things I just don't do are 1)Pour out beer and 2) walk out of a movie. NO MATTER HOW BAD I THINK THEY ARE. This tells you just how bad I thought this beer was.
I will however give it another chance given the other positive reviews on here, I may have just gotten a real bad bottle.

a: cloudy dark gold color, thick foamy head settles to respectable half-finger thickness, slow bubbles trickle up the sides, thick lacing
s: very sweet malts with belgian yeast, fruitiness and spices underneath -- yummy
t: again, very sweet malts and fruits dominate until finish with slight mix of phenols and bitter hops, alcohol mostly well hidden; nice thing is the finish isn't as offensive as many other in this style
m: thinner side of creamy with light carbonation that finishes with a slight burst
d: a smooth tripel with a nice balance of characteristics but the alcohol starts to hit hard halfway through; still a nice interpretation

Clear amber pour with a rather decent 1 finger white head.
Estery in the nose with lots of banana and some spiciness. Taste is slightly bready with a nice spicy quality and ample carbonation to keep it light. Reminiscent of tropical fruits. Alcohol on the back end.
Rather one dimensional, yet still rather enjoyable for me. At $5 for a bomber, I can't complain.

Bomber poured into my Duvel tulip, Tripel Dipsea (goofy name) is a clear bronze with an off-white head that leaves pretty nice lace.
Smell is strong phenols and some alcohol, spicy esters.
Taste is - wtf!!??? Smoked? Umm, ok, that is pretty unmistakable. And should NOT be in a tripel. Did they mislabel this beer? I don't think so, as it's not overwhelming, and the rest of the flavors remind me of your typical 'not really a tripel but I understand what they were going for' American try at the style. Spicy, bitter sweet, phenolic. Ok, after the first few sips, I'm not getting much smoke, it must just be that phenolic. Wow. Otherwise, it's kind of hot,
Mouthfeel is sticky, medium bodied, decent carbonation.
Drinkability is ok, not really loving the extreme spicy and phenols, and still am getting traces of smoke even as I work through the warmer half of the bottle, although some citrus is coming out as well, and the edges are softening. Enough that I bump it up from subpar to average. Still not feeling it.

A. Light golden amber, pale copper hues. Poor head retention. Little/no lace.
S. Musty belgian, yeasty, orange spice (coriander?)
T. Tastes like how the bay smells, kind of filthy. As it warmed up, it got much better. The spices really started to come out.
M. light to medium
D. I could have a few more, but would rather opt for another beer

22oz bottle acquired in trade. 2005 vintage (16th Anniversary). My bottle lists this as 10.1%.
Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of yeast, fruity (apples), caramel, spices, and a little bready. Tastes of spices, the same apple fruitiness, and yeasty. For over 10%, well hidden. Lightly sweet.

There's no date on the label, so I can't be sure what vintage this one is, but I reckon it's either 2007 or 2008. Whatever year it was, it was a good one as far as I'm concerned.
I poured it into my tulip glass to produce a slight, wispy white head and a nice golden orange color. Couldn't really detect much aroma in this one, a bit of a musty fruity scent. It got better from there, with a strong fruity flavor of apricot and banana and a yeasty spicey kick with clove and maybe some coriander notes. Some moderate sweetness. Possibly a brandy or cognac note in there. I really liked the fruit-spice balance here, with not a lot of detectable malt or hops. Mouthfeel OK, but I found this really very drinkable, and the alcohol barely detectable.
Take the dip!

2006 vintage, well kept in my cellar. I'd had this before, but the age seems to have been kind to this beer. I liked it better this time around. Poured a hazy golden with a thin head with some spotty lacing. Smells sweetly of honey. The alcohol has mellowed considerably by this point to a faint sting in the nose. Tastes sweet and fruity with apricot and mango and the barest touch of coriander. The mouthfeel is super smooth and a little soft with a slight tang at the finish. Very satisfying and delicate. A wonderful beer at this point. I think this beer is fairly mercurial, and will taste quite different at different ages and from different cellars.

2006 vintage. Unusual tripel. Pours clear tea with a tan head. Aroma is nondescript. Some yeast, some fruit and spice, some hops, but nothing stands out. The taste is malty with a lot of apricot. Very light mouthfeel. Not a beer I will seek out in the future.
