Place isn't that irish, if you're looking for that.

I do like the location though, now it's next to wedge and not Carmon's. May draw a little bit of a crowd with people coming out of wedge and wanting one more. Maybe it Will make it a little less towny.

Beer selection is a b- with only superficially "craft" beers- For instance, i bet you'd find a domaine dupage here, or something like that.

Whiskey selection a c+.

My experience with the bar has came in the form of an afternoon drinking beers and playing photo hunt.

I think they'll heat frozen pizzas for ya..

Like previous people said, a townie bar. In the times I've been in here I don't think I've ever seen other college kids.

I really like the atmosphere. It's homey. There's a lot of wood. There's a pretty darn good beer selection.

They also have Irish traditional music sessions once a week!

This is THE CLOSEST THERE IS to a traditional Irish pub in Champaign. Not perfect, but you will do no better elsewhere. The only other would be Mike and Molly's, which is less committed to the "Irish" side of things.

Bentley's doesn't serve food, and has only a decent selection of beers. Very little on tap that interested me, but they did carry a healthy selection of bottles. I ended up going with an Anchor Porter, not my usual but I don't usually see it in bars.

Overall it would be a non-notable location compared to some of the other better bars in town, except that every Wednesday night they have a group of live Irish Musicians. The group is pretty talented, and it goes a long way as far as atmosphere is concerned. They typically play from 8-11, and as long as you're drinking the staff will let you stay for the full set. It's a nice way to spend an evening.

Another plus is the ambiance of the tin roof, I'm a bit partial to old Midwestern architecture, and this establishment proudly displays it. Add to this the fact that it is far enough away from the University that you don't get any undergraduates out looking to get drunk, and you have a rather nice bar.

NEW REVIEW: Due to location or some other factor, this place went from a promising wannabe pub to a collection of dirty smoky people. The same beer I had the first time was still there but it was probably the same beer. Not recommended.

This is a brand new English style Pub in North Downtown Champaign. Tap selections include Fuller's ESB, Young's Oatmeal on Nitro, Bell's Best Brown, and PBR. Bottles include many English beers including the Samuel Smith line, some Fuller's, Young's, Bluebird bitter, Holy Grail Ale, Wychwood Brewing. Also has a decent wine selection. The place is very clean and very well put together, not a bad place to enjoy a few pints, one of about four places to go for good beer in Champaign-Urbana. Also sell's cigars if you ask the bartender.
