Bottle into shaker pint.

Pours dark gold, hinting at copper, clear, with a thin soapy cap on top.

Nose has a bit of light citrus,

Taste is smooth, initial citrusy hop bite, bit piny, with a lightly sweet, bready malt body. Balanced finish, lingering grassy, citrusy hops with just a bit of juicy malt. Very enjoyable.

Mouthfeel is medium-light in body, moderately carbonated. Mellow, smooth, nice.

Really nice beer overall - mellow and smooth around the edges. Quite tasty.

Purchased as part of a 12-pack sampler in Sevierville, TN. Poured from 12 ounce bottle (no best by date) into a Spieglau IPA glass.

This pale ale produces a nice thick sticky head (which is partially due to the glass). The color is bright gold, light looking consistency, transparent.

The smell is light. Some floral hops, distant fruity essence, some sweetness. The taste is crisp and clean and much like the smell, very mild. I would in no way agree with the bottle's description that this beer has an "assertive hop flavor". I would say this is more of a lightly hopped golden ale. The beer's malty flavors stand-out above any hops but there is some balance. Some lingering earthy, straw-like flavors but mostly a non-existent aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is very thin and somewhat watery. Lightly carbonated and slightly dry. Overall the beer is ok. It really depends on what you expect from it. If you're looking for a typical pale ale you will likely be let down. If you want a refreshing, lightly flavored summery beer with decent malt/hop balance this one might do the trick.

Appearance: Clear; golden straw; small white frothy head; dissipates quickly, but good lacing

Aroma: Malty; citrusy hops

Taste: Thin, hoppy bite up front; too much like a pils, which is not my favorite style.

Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

A - Pours a golden yellow with minimal head and lacing.

S - Sweet toffee/caramel malts and apple type fruits and earthy hops.

T - Citrusy bitter up front, not dry at all, sweet toasty caramel finish. Very sweet throughout.

M - Light bodied, decently carbonated. Pretty standard, no qualms.

O - Ok, easy to drink, mild but decent flavors.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Arrives with a clear honey colored pour; the modest head leaves a few strands behind

Smell: Toffee malts and earthy hops

Taste: Opens with a toffee malt flavor that adds a slight earthy hop bitterness in the middle; the hops never really build and the finish is slightly grainy with a solid malt-forward profile

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: The world of APAs has moved in a different direction since this beer was formulated and I found myself thinking this tasted more English than American; easy to drink, but I like a hoppier profile to my APAs

Hop forward smell definitely dry hopped. Pours golden color. Surprising amount of malt taste for the genre which I don't think I would like the sound of but I do like the taste of. Strong crisp hop finish that fades to a sweet lingering flavor. Light, crisp, highly carbonated mouthfeel. Overall a very solid pale ale. Schlafly apa > this > Sierra Nevada.

Thanx Damian74Shensky:

Into a pint glass:

A: clear yellow body with fast rising carbonation leading into a one finger white foamy head, minimal lacing

S: light hops and malts combined nicely but nothing that shows anthing specific

T: mainly sweet through previously mentioned flavors, sweet aftertaste and finish

M: light, mostly sessionable, adequate carbonation

O: good one for an APA, I would have this again; would make a good back porch summer beer
