Stopped in yesterday and was quite surprised by the selection. They had a lot of great breweries. Some included: Ommegang, Chimay, Flat Earth, Bells, Schells, Southern Tier, Sam Adams, Rogue, Summit, Boulevard, Shiner, Dark Horse, New Holland, and a lot more (I didn't have too much time to browse last night as the store was closing soon).
The store was well kept and clean. It was really easy to find what I was looking for. The service was a little subpar. I know it was almost closing, but I was never asked if I needed help finding anything. It seemed like all the employees were just trying to get their duties done so they could get off work sooner.
The prices were very fair and comparable to other stores I have been to. I found a few items clearanced at fairly low prices, which was pretty cool as well.
Overall, if you are in Mankato and need craft beer, this is the place to go. They have the largest selection and fair prices.

This is pretty much a craft-beer oasis in Mankato. The main beer guy isn't the friendliest but he does seem knowledgeable. If you request certain beers you know are available in MN they will sometimes seek them out. They get some limited release stuff like Surly Smoke, anniversary, and even Darkness. You can always find Bells, Founders, lots of Summit and due to proximity, as much Schell's as you can handle. Prices are usually reasonable but can vary quite a bit depending on the beer (I paid $20 for Four which was about 16-18 everywhere else). If you are living in Mankato it's the place to go for craft beer.

Definitely the best liquor store in Mankato as far a beer selection goes, though that isn't really saying much. It is however where I do pretty much all my beer shopping in Mankato (well, all my liquor shopping in general) They have a decent selection of US beer (Sierra Nevada, Rouge, Flying Dog, etc.), a good selection of MN beers (Schell's, Summit, Surly) and a decent selection from larger European breweries (Hoegaarden, Paulaner, Löwenbräu, etc). Generally prices are quite reasonable.
Bottom line: While selection could be better, it is still the best liquor store in Mankato. If you find yourself in Mankato and need to buy beer, you need not go anywhere else.

This is my favorite liquor store in the Mankato area. Most 'Kato liquor stores are either located in grocery stores, or geared towards college students. This place has a good selection of local Minnesota beers, as well as several micros and imports. They always have a good selection of Sierra Nevada, and many German imports. Staff is pretty much laissez faire in their attitude. I have never asked them about any products, but they have always been friendly. Prices are pretty low, compared to some specialty stores.
