The beer is slightly hazy, copper amber, an off-white small head that leaves no lacing.

The smell sweet, bread and honey, fruity, apricots and mango.

Tasting rather sweet, cereal, some fruitiness, peaches and mango, rather little bitterness.

Little carbonation, soft and smooth, almost oily, a soft dry finish.

So, so, a bit too much on the fruit hops.

A clear orange amber color with a fair white head of bubbles and some decent clumpy lacing. The aroma brings floral hops and peachy malt sweetness. The first taste offers a very tart lemony bread and swampy malt. It has that cask limpness that doesn't combine well with these malaised flavors. Boy, if you were about to throw up, this would get her done for ya. Just not very apetizing to me. It has a kind of apple juice quality with that sort of tasteless tartness that arrests the tongue and chokes the throat a bit. It's not really horrible but not a joy for me. I can't call it particularly drinkable. I am not generally a big fan of English style hops so that's part of the problem but this is really not very balanced and pushes away rather than invites. It mellows as it warms bringing more palatable orange bread sensibilities but it still languishes in a sort of acrid no-man's land. To me it's tolerable but not attractive. Perhaps others will enjoy this style of bitterness.

Pours a deep amber colour, with a small soapish head. Served at near room temp, hand pumped. Very english style - sweet, malty and moderately bitter. A great session beer. Smooth mouthfeel and easy drinking. Very nice cask ale, but a bit pricey at the brewpub.

A very nice looking darker amber color. Much darker than the beer(Bass Ale) that it is attempting to emulate. Not much of a head on it. Most of the beers at Faultline have lower carbonation. I have heard for this one they add calcium to the water to more closely match that of the Trent river in England.

Very nice flavour for a english style pale ale. A minimal hop finish makes this one a easy drinker. I would have to say it has more intense flavours than Bass. This could just be due to the fact that this one is fresh and most Bass I find on tap is a bit off.

This amber colored ale was very refreshing and drinkable. Solid malty base with subtle hopping. Very English like as the name would imply. Head retention was excellent and lacing was nice and ringed. Only the aroma or lack of it was the only negative. Very smooth, a good quaffer. Enjoyable.

Quite a nice surprise. A nice amber in color with the smooth mouthfeel I expect from this type of brew. I've been a Bass Ale fan for years and this is as fine a clone as I've tasted in a long time.
