A: Golden reddish brown. Dark copper. Clear and extremely epravescant. Off white sticky foam that coats the glass.
S: Citrus and roasted grain. Slight floral notes of tulip and green grass.
T: Bready flavors to start. Lemon and orange rind rounds out the taste, but the sweet malty oaky finish persists and finishes longer.
M: Light and refreshing. A woody finish lingers in the back of the mouth a bit long.
O: Great hot weather ipa. This one is smooth and refreshing. A very well rounded ipa with a nice hop and grain balance.

A: The beer is crystal clear amber in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a half finger high beige head that has good retention properties and consistently left a thin dense head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of passionfruit hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but the passionfruit flavors from the Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin hops are much stronger and there are also some hints of gooseberries. A moderate amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is very flavorful and quite easy to drink. I really enjoyed the taste of the New Zealand hops.

Bottled 12/19/12.
Pours a clear dark orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Thin rings of lace of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, rye, citrus fruit, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with spicy rye and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a spicy presence from the interaction of the rye and hops used.

I love IPAs infused with rye.
Pours a dark gold with a huge frothy head into my glass. Great way to start things off!
Spicy rye and freshly-cut grass stand out in the nose. Hoppiness is balanced and not off the charts.
Ditto for the taste. Spicy rye and grassy hops work well upfront. Chewy. Flavorful.
Lingering spicy rye notes and grassy hop notes make up the mouthfeel. It meshes well with the spicy dish I'm enjoying.
Hop aroma could have been stronger but otherwise, this is an excellent beer for the spring.
