A: Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Body is clear, golden-tangerine in color with a small white head on top. Lots of fine-bubbled carbonation rising - all the way to the bottom of the glass. Some splotchy lace on the way down.

S: Grapefruit & grapefruit pith over a faintly sweet malt foundation.

T: A touch of bready malt underneath, but then it's all about the citrus and grapefruit. Finishes with a grapefruity, lemony bitterness that lingers on the palate.

M: Pretty creamy; those fine bubbles of carbonation soften the feel. Call it light-to-medium in heft.

O: Very good stuff. I know it seems like "cheating" to add grapefruit peels to get that citrusy, grapefruity taste (instead of just relying on the hops), but I don't care - it works.

Served in a pint glass - 12oz bottle

I came to the party a little late on this one, I've enjoyed Widmer Bros Rotator series, but somehow missed this release. I got my first 6-pack in November and found another on the shelves in late december....oh well

A - Golden color, with 1 finger head and decent lacing

S - It hits you with the citrusy smell of grapefruit right off the pour. My mouth started to water before I could get the glass to my mouth.

T - Nice upfront grapefruit, a little malt in the middle and some hop bite at the end. I loved reading about the brewing and the use of the grapefruit peels in the process. I was already a fan of the X-114, so throwing a little grapefruit in the mix only upped the level of enjoyment for me.

M - Good mouthfeel, I like the carbonation as well.

O - This is a favorite IPA for me. I hope it comes back again, not sure where the company is going with this rotator series, if they will continue to experiment, or keep putting out the same. I really hope Shaddock makes a return, one of my favorite IPA's I've had in awhile.
