Poured from a Growler to a pint glass, pours nice. Creamy head and good lacing while maintaining its black color. It smells of earthy hops with faint chocolate notes. The taste isn't as creamy as I'd like out of a milk stout but still maintains a good earthy hop flavor with hints of chocolate and coffee. The mouthfeel is not what I expected from a milk stout but still holds true for the overall feel and smell of the beer. Overall, a decent beer I'd drink again but still leaves me wanting more creamy and full.

Pours a pitch-black, with a large head of tan foam. Beautiful, exquisite lace.

Nose is smooth cocoa and milk chocolate.

Taste falls right in line. Rich chocolate, some roasty coffee, and a warming, charry finish.

Overall, this milk stout isn't as smooth as some (Left Hand comes to mind), but it drinks well enough, and, with the warm finish and 7.6% ABV, comes close to an Imperial Stout. Liked, but wouldn't pick up more.

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a teku.

A: Black. Pours a half finger, bubbly, brown-white head. Dissipates quickly, leaving a thick foam ring around the rim. Nice beer ring lacing.

S: Dark roasted espresso, dark unsweetened chocolate, and a slight floral component.... maybe lavender. A little licorice, and liquor.

T: Dark roasted espresso is prominent. Random nut and wood components.

M: Very earthy character. Slightly dry, bitter finish.

D: Sip and enjoy.

Atmosphere is pretty good. Dark hue, decent head, and some fair lacing. Nose is charred espresso with some chocolate and a floral character. Flavor is charred coffee malt, with some general nutty and woody components. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.
