The beer selection is mediocre at best with limited to no micros: They carry draft Magic Hat (Howl when I was there), Guinness, their own label and AB/MillerCoors brands. They do have a lot of good beers in bottle, however I typically shy from buying bottles when I go out.
The food is very good, although a bit expensive for the area.
The service and atmosphere are both excellent - the waitstaff is friendly and the bar has a nice sports-bar meets pub ambiance.
The best parts of this place are their Tuesday special: all pints are $2 and their $5 bottomless chips and salsa.

Let me get this out of the way first, Fox & Hound is a bit pricey. Okay I said it. Lots of things to do though watch the big screens, play darts, shoot pool. The place is pretty huge and the 5-7 happy hour help the prices on draft. They normally represent Erie Brewing well with at least 3 or 4 on draft. Lots and lots of bottles, close to 80 if I counted right. Staff is zealous in refilling empty mugs or dead bottles. Traditional English pub fare. Bathrooms were remarkable for a bar, clean, clean, clean and mouthwash was available-- nice touch.

This place has a nice amount of beer, but the selection seems "Safe" to me. All of it is widely available, and there doesn't seem to be a selection of Micro's and Imports that does me right. Don't get me wrong, there are some beers I love in here, but don't let the 80 beers fool you, there are now other places to go around Erie to get GREAT beer, and food. Most hear are BMC beers. They do get seasonals, Belgians, etc....and some local brew's. The food is above average, as is the Service....although a little pricey. The place is Huge, almost to big. Bathrooms are beautiful. Hand soap and mouthwash, "don't get them mixed up". The place is defiantly worth going back, But for a wider selection "Micro Beers" I will go elsewhere. Also a huge gaming room in the back.

Unfortunately Erie, PA doesn't have the best beer bar selections in the country. However, it is a solid place to go if you are looking to get a craft beer or import along with a meal.
The atmosphere is family friendly and has entertainment that will allow you to spend many hours here while dropping crash in overpriced craft beer. They also recently gave their patrons free Wi-Fi access which is nice since I have never been big on coffee, so I can now go here for an afternoon drink beer, and do work. Nice.
As stated before, the beer is overpriced. I think I spent 4.75 or something for a pint (american) of DFH 60 min. The only special that they have that helps me save money is a weekly happy hour special where their talls are the same cost as their pints.
Overall, not a bad place. Fair selection if you haven't been exploring beer for awhile.

One of few bars that has decent beer here in Erie, Pa. They are over priced, but none the less, they have some good ones. For example, all of the Samuel Smith beers are $6.65 per bottle!
Rogue Dead Guy Ale, Rogue Mocha Porter, Victory Hop Devil, Victory Golden Monkey, Samuel Smith's Nut Brown, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal, Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout, Samuel Smith's India Ale, Belhaven St. Andrew's Ale, Fuller's ESB, McEwen's Scotch Ale, Dogfish Head 60 Min IPA, Southern Tier IPA, Southern Tier Porter, Harpoon IPA, are all normal year round offerings.
Over time I received a few beers that are past their prime. Not many people that go here drink the above mentioned beers.
They have good burgers and appetizers too.
There are also billiards, dart boards, ping pong tables, shuffle board, and video games for your enjoyment.

Fox and Hound is currently my favorite hangout in Erie--at least on weekdays from 5-7. When Happy Hour rolls in, you'll get any pint for $2.25. Not a bad deal.
The draft selection is very nice as well. You'll get all your regular macros, of course, but there are also some nice surprises including brews straight from Erie, PA (ask about the seasonal) and good imports like Smithwick's Irish and Bass. Overall I believe there are about 30 draft choices.
The burgers are excellent--my favorite being the Black and Bleu. And I can recommend the Fish and Chips as well.
As far as atmosphere goes, I love it. The bar is beautiful, friendly service, high ceilings, good ventilation (I'm not a smoker) and plenty of pool tables and big screen TVs.
The music choices are a little wacky at times, but it's excusable. Also, the prices are a bit high outside of the Happy Hour.
All-in-all I don't know of a better Happy Hour in Erie. I'll see you there!

From the outside you wouldn't expect anything, it's in a shopping district a stones away from the Millcreek Mall. Located near a TJ Max and a couple other stores, looks like it's closed windows are tinted looks empty. Approach the doors to be greeted by two younger ladies holding the door for me and my buddy. To walk into a lavish moderately lit all wooden pub big dining area with 10 or 12 full sized pool tables, big screen TVs, and after work clientel with shirt and tie. Place was packed had a great cigar selection although they were a bit overpriced, an hour on the pool tables costs seven dollars not bad. Service was great just shooting a couple games of pool and the waitress was there to check on us with a smile everytime our glasses were nearing empty. Selection the most impressive part of their taps was that they had all three regular Erie Brewing products including Mad Anthony's, Railbender, and Presque Isle Pils. They had the seasonal big beer Red Ryder ale flowing. I had the Presque Isle on draft and man was I impressed completely different beer than the bottle, mainly fresher I'm guessing. Along with these I saw Sam Adams, Guinness, Bass, Harp, Boddingtons, Sierra Nevada Pale, and a whole slew of the other unremarkable beers. Food we didn't get to but there's always a next time here.
