Poured from bottle into a pint glass. Head is thick. Color is dark brown/black.
Odor is malty and some chocolate. Also a sweet overall odor similar to caramel.
Taste is heavy on the chocolate. Mix of milk chocolate and dark. Some sweet malt notes. Also get underlying oatyness.
Mouth feel is pretty smooth and rich. Not too much carbonation.
Overall a good solid stout(good chocolate stout).

Received this bottle in a trade. Thanks Ed. There is no date on the bottle.
This poured black with a thin head and left nice lacing. Sweet malts dominate the nose with a little smokiness. The taste is similar, slightly sweet, a little smokey, excellent aftertaste. You don't really notice any alcohol component.
A very tasty brew that reminds me of Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout but it doesn't have the hard water component and I think the mouth feel is a tad thinner.

Pours dark brown/black with 1/4 inch head. Served in a pint glass
Smells like chocolate covered coffee beans with a hint of smoke. Tastes like the average stout with an after taste of coco. It is smooth, no off flavors, everything seems to be accounted for, but I find it to be a little thin. A good tasting stout, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Thanks to ncketchum for this brew. Poured this 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Served slightly chilled.
A) Deep brown in color. A very thin tan with okay retention. Not much lacing, a little bit of traction.
S) Like rum cake, or butter rum, some type of rum flavored desert. It's pretty sweet, a little bit woody and smokey too.
T) Darker malt and roast flavor. Not as much chocolate as I anticipated, but enough to note it. Actually this was pretty sugar sweet, and pretty boozy. The booze gives way to and earthy finish and aftertaste.
M) Actually thicker than it looks, which is odd to say, given the color. The feel is pretty smooth, not quite full bodied, light carbonation, kind of oily, bordering on syrupy. Gets a little sticky.
O) Not a boozy mess, but this just didn't get there for me. The alcohol could have been a little better hidden and at times the sweetness was a bit much. It was worth a try, but I don't see myself returning anytime soon. It was okay....

Bottle poured into snifter. Appearance is jet black with cocoa colored head and nice retention. The nose is rather smokey with loads of chocolate malt and roasted barley. Ashy notes come through as well. Taste is somewhat deep and sweet up front and takes on some smoked malt quality as the flavor develops. The smoke is somewhat surprising considering this brew isn't billed as a smoked stout, but it is definitely present. Pretty decent balance here, ABV is nowhere to be found. The mouthfeel is smooth with moderate carbonation. Overall, a nice little value here. The smoke quality is almost a little too pungent for my liking and seems out of place.

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a dark amber color with a white head. The aroma has some chocolate notes, but there is also an off-putting quality that resembles trash. The flavor has a lot of chocolate and some very burnt malt notes which are so strong they make the beer tough to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Appearance: Dark brown with deep red at edges when held to direct light. Head is a dark tan and creamy. Drops to a thin ring after a few minutes.
Smell: Copious amounts of chocolate run the entire list. Milk chocolate and cocoa with a nice backing of bitter baker's chocolate. Roasted malts are big and offer a welcome addition. Sweetness builds as the beer warms. A little nutty with a faint burnt edge. Slight alcohol note with a touch of tobacco.
Taste: Loads of chocolate mix well with a roasty sweet malt base. Touches of leather and tobacco leaf. Milk chocolate flavors are a welcome sweetness from the roasted malts. Cocoa notes liven things up a bit, bringing a grittier, drier edge to everything. No hops to speak of. Chocolate malts and then some.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy with a dry cocoa edge. Drinks easy and clean.
Overall: Solid. Very solid. Drinks incredibly well with enough flavor to keep things interesting over the entire bottle. Warms nicely. Well crafted and well balanced.

12 oz. bottle tried 11 Nov 2011. Courtesy of R&S, of course. Thanks! Served in the 0.4 L Ulmer Munster snifter.
Medium sized brown head. Medium carbonation. Clear dark brown in color. Aroma is sweet, syrupy, chocolately, and ethanol. Starts very chocolatey sweet. A touch of smokiness. Reminds A of mole. Medium body, moderate ethanol. Lightly bittersweet chocolate finish. Aftertaste is roasty smoky bittersweet.
Not an over the top imperial stout but very enjoyable.

Served in a Gale Sayers shaker pint glass.
I enjoyed the "normal" Oscar's stout, so expectations are fairly high for this bigger brother. Full disclosure, I suppose. It pours a straight onyx topped by a finger or so of golden sienna foam. The nose comprises toasted oats, roasted malts, cocoa powder, and a smidgen of char. The taste follows pretty closely, though the cocoa is now a decidedly sweeter chocolate syrup kind o' character, and the roast is sorta diminished in its presence. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a decently creamy feel. Overall, a nice stout, one that's surprisingly thinner and a touch sweeter than I imagined, but one I could see myself revisiting a few times in the future.

Poured from 12oz bottle into imperial pint glass.
A: Dark cocoa powder followed by a faint, smoky phenolic note. The aroma is not an inviting one.
A: Pours a bit thinner than I'd hoped. Body is dark brown in the glass. The one-finger off-white head falls quicker than ideal.
F: The phenolic noted comes out at first. Some smoke appears, then a slight metallic twang. Chocolate syrup then, fortunately, appears. Some peppery alcohol then shows up on the finish.
M: Body is relatively full and viscuous (I believe thanks to the oatmeal). Medium carbonation.
O: This one was a bit of a disappointment for me. As a stout lover, the name led me to believe that this beer was right up my alley. Unfortunately, the aromas and flavors that came through included characteristics that I dislike in this style. It's possible that my bottle was either old or bad. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this one.

[Best served in a Pint glass]
The pour was a very dark murky brown with a large (2-3 finger) light brown frothy head that was mostly diminishing and had poor lacing,
The aroma was nice and robust of a dark roasted cereal malt and a sweet leathery yeast with notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, molasses, a hint of oats and a touch of alcohol.
The taste was silky sweet and had a nice chocolate note in the beginning and finished with a slightly bitter tinge that had a strong note of coffee and chocolate with a touch molasses at the end. The flavor was left to linger a nice long time after the swallow allowing for the chocó-coffee flavor to settle nicely on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was somewhere between medium and full in body, a tad oily and a little dry yet very creamy in texture with a nice lively carbonation.
Overall an exquisitely smooth, tasty, robustly satisfying brew that had all of the flavors blending together so perfectly that the high alcohol content was hidden completely.
