A - Ah twist off never a good sign. Eh not bad a solid inch of off white head atop of a orange brown tinted beer. Somewhat hazy with very sweet lacing.
S - Has some helles tones of yeasts and hops with a pungent yet subtle bit of alcohol with some caramel malts and bready body. Smell is full and interesting.
T - Wow that caramel malt is balanced, very malt forward indeed. Underneath I got some pretzel dough and a bit of hops. Surprisingly good!
M - Medium bodied for sure, a tad chewy. A nice full beer.

Overall I am pleasantly surprised this is up there with the "whole hog pumpkin" ale. Not too sweet yet has a decent malt presence. A very tasty bock indeed.

very nice, malt forward, clean better a few degrees warmer. very light head, not much head retention, but nice malty taste this was my first Maibock and it wont be my last if this is a good representation of the class then I'm going to hit it up again.

Reviewed from notes.

A. Clear golden orange color with a receding foam collar and passable lacing.

S. Smells lightly of morning sticky bun dough..only without the cinnamon if that makes any sense. I'm missing a significant hop or nut presence here, and not too pleased about it.

T. Much the same as the nose, sweet bread dough styled malts, only there is a touch of herbal hopping on the very tail end of the sip.

M. Smooth almost creamy textured medium body, lightly carbonated.

Appearance - Pours a pale golden color with a very small head that dissipates immediately.

Smell - Hints of caramel, malts, and sweetness.

Taste - Starts out kinda sweet with strong caramel flavor and maltiness. A slight bit of bitterness at the end.

Mouthfeel - Pretty thick with medium carbonation.

Overall - Not a bad beer. It seems quite filling though.

Bottle purchased from Brix in Omaha, NE.
Poured into a standard US pint glass.

A heavy pour creates a generous 2+cm head of off-white, medium-sized bubbles. This fades in a minute to a moderate ring around the glass. No lacing. Body is a light, transparent, copper-orange color, and plenty of active carbonation is visible. Slightly above average.

Aroma is of hot, in your face sweetness with a mild yeast and grain component. Could use some more balance, nuance, here. Also, where are the hops, as expected in maibock?

Taste opens with a light sweetness from the malt, which is carried into the midtaste. Middle of the taste is when I pick up on definite phenolics in the form of nutmeg and cloves. Phenolics fade, malt return to forefront with some esters present as well (banana), and some ethanol detectable. Not really any detectable hop presence, but it may be a bit old at this point. Not really enjoying this imbalance, very off for the style.

Medium to medium-heavy-bodied, a bit chewy, but carbonation is generous enough to blend well with this. This is a little too heavy and sticky sweet in the mouthfeel, especially the after tasting. A bigger hop presence probably could have improved this. Finish is semi-dry with that sweet stickiness mentioned.

A strange maibock that's more like a doppelbock with lighter malts than a maibock of helles. Up the noble hop presence, go easy on the malt, and control the ethanol, and this would shape up to be an interesting maibock.

Pours light gold with small head. Smells of grain and malts and a little sweet bread .
Taste is malty with a nice hop balence, creamy and refreshing. Nice malt and grain flavor.
In your mouth it is refreshing and smooth a good beer you can enjoy a few of and not feel too full.
Overall this is a great beer for this style and I recomend that you give it a try!

12 oz bottle poured into a wine glass.

Appearance- transparent bright golden color, looks sharp. Decent head but it doesnt retain very long. Little bit of lacing.

Smell- grainy, strangely salty?, yet sweet and yeasty too.

Taste- a little hoppier than expected, but nice. Sort of sweet but not yeasty sweet, more like nutty, caramel sweet. nice.

Overall- an interesting Maibock, certainly drinkable and decent, but nothing stellar.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass

A - Pours a clear gold, nice 1 finger off-white foam head, quickly fades. Minimal lacing on this one.

S - Heavy on the malts, bready, some hint of dark fruits or candies. Subtle but I really dig the nose for some reason.

T - Nice, smooth malts. Notes of bread, and like the nose there's something candy-like in there. I really like it even though I can't quite put a specific finger on the exact flavor. Who cares! A light touch of hops

M - Very smooth. Carbonated for sure but not overly done. I'd say it medium bodied with a nice clean finish and feel.

O - All in all, really like it. Granted I'm a fan of the style but there's something about this one that I really enjoy. Definitely my favorite Point brew...too bad its a seasonal.

3560 on the neck, no info.

A - Crystal clear like a beautiful spring sky, this Maibock is well-carbonated and goldenrod in color with a one-finger white head. Low retention and little lace left behind though.

S - Mostly malty sweet, the nose brings fourth memories of spring. Crisp and clean, the low spicy noble hop profile adds good character to the Vienna malt profile.

T - Sweet Vienna malt profile rich with notes of honey and lightly toasted wheat bread. Mild spicy noble hops compliment the malt well.

M - Medium-bodied and pretty smooth on the palette, Einbock has a well-carbonated, crisp finish with a nice, soft cleanliness to it. Mild lingering sweetness.

O - One of the better Point brews, this Maibock is a pleasure to drink and enjoy on a warm spring day. Well-rounded, nicely balanced, and quite drinkable.

Copper gold body, sharp clarity with an almost jewel-like tone. Thin cap of foam that doesn't remain too long.

Muted aroma, sweet shortbread cookie, whiff of alcohol, with a little bit of spice present. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Cream soda, grape, alcohol in the aftertaste, some estery banana and low level spice. Syrupy feel, a little bit sticky but not cloyingly sweet. Simple and a little bit dull. Not something i'd revisit.

pours clear golden copper with a 1/2 finger head that left a little spotted lacing

smell is very bready and i get quite a bit of alcohol with sweet fruit

taste is right along the line of the nose - plenty of booze flavor for only 6.2% - those sweet apples mixed with bready caramel malt

mouthfeel is a light medium body with plenty of carbonation that gives it a crisp yet still creamy feel

overall this was a good buy - saw it on sale 5.99 a sixer and i am a sucker for maibocks i thought i would give it a shot - glad i did - might buy more

Yellow, good head, clear for the most part. Poured into a glass. Not really my favorite, but it had a pretty smooth aftertaste, surprisingly light. Flavor and mouthful wasn't too full, more light to medium bodied. Wouldn't really buy again, but im sure there's people out there that would enjoy this beer.

Pours perfectly for a two finger thick off white head, and has a clear copper colored body.

Taste and aroma wise it's on par. Nice grainy husk, and a hint of metallic hops and some cooked vegginess rounds out the flavor.

Feels a bit on the crisp and refreshing side, with a smooth creaminess in the end to finish. Overall a great interpretation of the style.

This beer is a pale gold in color with a touch of haze to it. A small but dense off-white head forms. Retention is above average, as is lacing that's left in thin patches and spots here and there.
There's a touch of sweetness in the aroma, almost a honey-like note, with caramel malts, a touch of grains, and a hint of leafy/herbal hops. A bit more strength is needed, but otherwise this is a nice aroma.
A nice malty presence forms the backbone, with caramel, toffee and breads supporting an ample hops character offering some herbal and leafy bitterness. There's also a touch of spiciness. This is a semi-dry beer with a lively medium body due to active carbonation. It remains a steady balance of crisp and smooth without thinning out.
This is very good, though not a mind-blowing beer, but it's thus far the best I've had from this brewery.

Pours a nice rich golden with a fluffy white head. Decent retention and laceing. Aroma is grassy and floral with a nice mix of bready malts. Body is medium with a good amount of carbonation. Taste is of bread and butter malts,with hints of nut and caramel. Floral finish. Really good.

A - Poured out a clear, copper color and was highly carbonated. It had a small, white head of bubbly foam that was short-lived and left little lace.

S - It smelled floral and malty. There were notes of sweet breads.

T - It tasted nutty and malty with some sweet caramel. It had a mild grassy bitterness.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied ale with a dry finish.

D - This is a nice maibock. However, like most Point brews it doesn't blow me away.

Picked up a 12pk for 7.99.. I thought at that cost it was a risk worth taking.

A: Pours a clear golden, head disappears quickly, some lacing

S: there is a distinct lager character on the nose, very bready, kind of sweet like corn, the lager character smells like it is artificial. There is something unsettling here.

T: sweet grains up front, followed by some soured notes, stale bread, a lingering sweetness on the finish that leaves the palate unhappy. Not real impressed.

MF: thin body, medium carbonation

D: well I waited until the bottle #12 of the 12 pack to do this review, and let me tell you, I was sitting on these for a while. The stuff is possible to drink, just not all that pleasant. The balance is poor and the overall execution is pretty bad. This seems to be a theme in Point beers.

Pours a nice clean/clear golden yellowish color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy off-white head, with some nice sticky lacing to follow. The nose is sweet, malty, with some spice notes. The taste has a nice little sweetness to it, malty, slightly spiced, with some caramel. Medium body. Drinkable, a nice little brew.

Poured a slightly hazy amber with a thin light white head.

The smell is light and grainy.

The flavor has a bit of an off sour flavor mixing in with light toasted malts and a light sweet grain quality, overall the flavor is very mild and light. No hops at all

The mouthfeel is a bit slick and a touch buttery, a bit of Diacetyl.

Overall a pretty poor maibock.

A- pours a pale golden color w/ a thick off-white head which lasts for a few moments before trailing off into some broken lace in my nonic

S- smell is mostly a steely cereal grain and a faintly sulphurish lager yeast, notes of lightly toasted malts and alcohol also come through

T- taste is similar to smell, a metallic grainy taste w/ a bit too much hop bitterness, def. out of balance w/ the malts, some notes of caramel/nuts do pop out tho, i get an almost adjunct-like "twang" right before a drying, fairly metallic/mineral finish

M- a fairly dry beer with a body between light-med. plenty of co2 in this one, seems a bit too thin on the palate

D- overall a pretty drinkable beer, def. goes down smooth and quick on cool spring day

Poured into my pint glass the beer is a pristine crystal clear golden amber. About one finger of off white head recedes to leave a fairly decent lace ring.

The aroma is an assertive mix of vienna and munich malts. The hop profile isn't as strong but it's present. Light biscuit and apples with bints of spice.

The flavor is sweet grain with a moderate hop bite. Not real aggressive. Spices and fresh cut grass are present as well.

Medium to light body. Crisp and carbonated.

Overall a decent beer. Nothing I would seek out but an easy drinker.

A: Poured a golden, straw color, with a bit of amber tints. A nice ring of foam, but no head, and it appears that there will be little to no lacing.

S: Smells great, very grainy.

T: Probably the best part about this beer is it's initially subtle sweetness and then it keeps on growing on you. Slightly citrus, but barely noticeable.

M: Great mouthfeel, however I wish it was fuller feeling.

D: I'd rate it higher, but I just don't see me drinking much of this.

Poured into a Sam Adams bubble glass.

Nice golden amber very clear with a one inch lasting head and thick frothy lace.

Smell is not too detailed but subtle and reflective of the style of a Maibock. Slight caramel and fruity yeast esters.

Taste is very crisp and light caramel with a bit of a buttery toast.

Again, very drinkable and flavorful but, on the light side. This is by no means a weak offering. Point Brewery seems to have a knack for providing quality quaffability. THis beer is just that simple goodness and highly quafible. THis beer would be great to kick off the baseball season with a good session with friends.

Deep gold colored beer with a rapidly fading head.Aroma is grainy and unremarkable.Taste is bread,biscuit and malty.Overall a pretty decent beer that goes down relatively smooth.I can see this being a spring weather beer.I would recommend to try once and am sure I will come across this again some time in the future.
