Appearance is clear amber with some head, poor retention. The nose features uninspiring amber malts with sweet grainy notes. Light waves of grapes an molasses with a hint of caramel. Taste is light and sweet with molasses and watery grain. Not much character. Mouthfeel is light, dry, and highly carbonated. Overall, pretty blah.

Bottle poured into pint
Overall not bad; two finger head with moderate carbonation
Smell: hoppy and grainy; a little herbal actually
Taste: balanced throughout, highly sessionable considering the ABV
Mouthfeel: Smooth and moderate! Not watery at all.
Overall, fine beer, I would love to have this on draught
I wouldn't by a six pack.

A - Pours a light amber colour, thumb of head with decent retention and some sporadic lacing.
S - Scent is slightly metallic, grassy hop notes, hint of peppery spice and a touch of caramel.
T - A pleasant caramel flavour dominates, bready Malta linger alongside a touch of toffee and grassy hop notes.
M - Comes across a tad thin and finishes a little to dry for my liking.
O - A decent amber, but nothing spectacular. Easy drinking but needs a bit of a flavour boost to kick it to the next level.

12oz bottle poured into a Horny Goat pint glass.
Appearance- Very light brown to amber with a very small amount of white head that dissipates away. Lots of carbonation bubbles.
Smell- I get lots of bread and wheat with a tart hop.
Taste- Very malty, wheaty and bready. Hops is almost non existent.
Mouthfeel- Overly carbonated causing for a more difficult swallow/mouthfeel.
Overall- Kind of sad that this isn't better balanced with hops. The nose and carbonation leads me to believe that everything is in line for a decent amber but the lack of hop balance leaves me wanting something else added in.

Another one from these guys that I got from my brother. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a clear red with a frothy white head. Nose is sweet and fruity. Mild citrus, apple, honey. Crisp mouth, clean, subtle twangy finish. Sweet beer with sugar cookies, citrus, mild bitterness. Another good beer that is as simple as it is tasty.

Stevens Point Classic Amber, a taste of the northwoods, poured a 12oz bottle into a pint/nonic glass.
A: The beer poured a rich clear copper-red, with about a half inch of fluffy white head at the top.
S: The aroma is mainly caramel malt with a hint of hops, bread, and nuts.
T: I mainly get caramel malt, some nuttiness, and a subtle spice. The beer leaves a slightly sweet finish on the palate.
M: Crisp, clean, a medium-bodied beer, carbonation was ok.
O: A very good offering from Stevens Point. The Classic Amber is a very approachable beer with some character.

Appearance - Pours a very dark amber color with a centimeter thick head that dissipates quickly. Has pretty nice lacing.
Smell - Roasted malts, bready, nutty, and a subtle sweetness.
Taste - Sweet with roasted malts, nutty characters, bready, and herbal.
Mouthfeel - Has a pretty light body with high carbonation.
Overall - So far I like every beer I've tried by Steven Point Brewery. This is a good amber ale.

Poured into pint glass.
A- One finger head. Dark caramel amber with red tint. Very bubbly. Head retention was about a minute. Pocked head with minor lacing.
S- Moderate nuttiness. Light citrus hops. Almost smelled like a white wine.
T- Light sweetness. Slightly bitter. Bready.
M- Medium body. In between creamy and watery. Lively fizz.
O- A sweet and lively amber. Wish the aroma had a larger presence. Pretty one flavored taste. Very drinkable.

Pours a clear amber with solid 1 finger cream head that lingers.
Citrus fruit and toasted caramel malt lead the aroma, followed by a hint of herbal hop and a slight nuttiness.
Lemony tang underlies the flavor throughout, with bready malt eventually providing relief in the finish. It's fairly simple.
Mouthfeel is slightly watery, with moderate carbonation accentuating the tang, giving a spritzy sensation.
Not what I expected as an amber. Hoping I got a bad bottle. Not nearly enough hop or malt flavor.

Reviewed from notes.
A. Pours out a clear standard amber in color with about a minute’s worth of two fingers of white foamy head, some minor lacing gets left behind with each sip.
S. Very faint floral hopping on top of a light generic maltiness aroma.
T. Same as the nose, I would have liked to have a component of mild grassy or herbal hopping or even some kind of nutty malt flavor, but it just isn’t happening here. Sticks to the same generic malt flavor as on the nose.
M. Medium texture and heft, lightly carbonated.
Rather run of the mill and forgettable if not for a slightly better-than-average head structure.

Bottle poured into glass. Part of sampler box.
A: Deep, deep red/amber, as advertised. White head.
S: Smells sweet. Flowery, like a field in spring.
T: Fairly sweet, but not overtly so- hops are still present. Not bold, but still solid.
M: The lighter side of medium, or the heavier side of light.
O: I like this beer. It's at that balance point where it's not heavy that you can't drink more than one, but not light enough to have too many of.

This has been on tap at my local watering hole for quite some while. Just realized I have never reviewed it I think. This is prob. The best beer Point makes. The best thing about this beer is the way it looks. Very rich amber color with a beautiful head that has nice lacing. Not much aroma going on but I do not have the best smeller. Very mild. The flavor of this beer has nutty, dried fruit, and grain. Kind of like a granola bar. Nice to drink I am on my second one so it is decent. 312 Goose Island tap has been staring me down though. Hope my chicken wings get here soon.

I bought a 12pk sampler of Stevens Point Beer for $11.99 from Woodman's in Janesville, WI in Spring 2011.
Pours a dark copper color with a slight fluffy head. Scent is mostly that of grains and sweet malts. Taste is slightly heavier than I expected. Toasted malts and sweet malts clash together to ignite the taste buds. Overall has a sweet, refreshing taste that is very drinkable. A great everyday kind of beer.

Upon opening some smoke comes out. Upon pouring a white head comes that is about a finger high. It does not retain well but it laces a bit, so it looks okay but not what I am looking for. The body is of a reddish color and is pretty dark but you can still see bubbles rise to the top as they should be.
The smell makes me more excited for it. I think I smell hops and maybe roasted maltiness. maybe barley??? It has a smell to it I am familiar with and its one I like but I can't put my finger on it entirely. Smells very appealing.
It has nutty roasty malty and hoppy tastes to it. Its very very enjoyable the intertwining tastes in it. It is not strong or robust flavor but its subtlety comes in nicely making it a nice beer to drink.
For mouthfeel, its very drinkable. It has some carbonation but enough that is goes with the other features of the beer. It also has this air to it that makes you want to drink more of it.
Overall, being a person who wants beers with robust strong character, its nice to have a nice enjoyable delicious beer to drink that does not to do by being strong as it can do so while being subtle. Give this one a try. I would say that it should be rated more than what BA together gives it.

A very light and delicate nearly-sessionable beer. Surprisingly refreshing and well balanced between malt sweetness and floral hops, this American style Amber delivers with a stride of drinkability and light complexity.
Pouring a moderate hue of copper and amber, there's a back light of bright gold and bronze. The beer forms a creamy head that retains fairly while leaving behind evenly sparsed pockets of foam that makes the beer appealing to the eye.
Very floral (almost over floral) with the late hop additions revealing an aroma of flower boquets, honeysuckle, and perfume. Somewhat expected of fresh German Lagers, but surprisingly unusual for the usual citrusy-focused American Amber Ales.
Flavors of light caramel, moderate malt, and soft bread crust begin to sculpt the malt profile. But with the short lived and crisp flavor of true malt, the flavors waiver and lead to a mid palate taste of bland light breads that fail to deliver meaningful malt flavor from the early palate to finish. However, the finish does deliver a malty dryness that avioids grain flavors then leaving the finish malty, yet empty- odd.
Medium malty, the beer forms a creamy start to the session and carries the firm texture well into mid palate. But after that, the beer seems to recess into the background and leaves nothing to the finish. While I expect an American hop citrus bitterness and dryness to finish the beer, only an herbal note finishes here.
The more I drink of this beer, I want to read the flavors of Vienna Lager that fuses with American Amber Ale maltiness- maybe this is what the brewery is targeting. Regardless, it leads to a very floral and lightly carmelly beer that could use more citrusy hop bitterness to balance- this one just becomes too sweet and one-dimensionally floral.

Amber and red appearance in the amber/red lager category, who woulda think it? Doesn't have the clarity you'd normally want in a lager, but it is rather dark, so slack can be cut. Mix of mild toasty malt notes and lightly sweet caramel.
Taste, not really much, mild toasted notes again with some nuttiness. A little watery, everything about this beer is pretty much best described as mild, nothing is over the top or aggressive.
Sprecher's amber/vienna/black lagers are all better and more classic than this.

Bottle to pint glass.
A: Pours a red translucent amber. A little over one finger of white head that dissapates fairly quickly. Looks like an amber ale.
S: There is some very skunky smells coming from this one. Also some very light grainy notes, almost corny.
T: Grainy sweetnes with some very, very, slight caramel notes. Very light. A very slight hop bitterness to balance out the sweetness.
M: The mouthfeel is a tad bit watery but the carbonation adds a slight creamy feel. Light bodied.
O: This beer is okay if your looking for something like a darker version of PBR.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance- red-tan color pours clearly. One finger head leaves a nice small bubbled foamy crown which lingers.
Smell- Strange for this style, smells kind of chocolatey. Malty without the over-the-top bready notes that some dislike.
Taste- Mildly malty with a bit of a roasted caramel taste. But it seems to have a metallic aftertaste that I find a bit disheartening.
Overall- I've had other beers from this brewer that I liked and I'm a fan of Amber Ales. i thought two and two would equal four, but here it apparently equals zero. I won't be buying this again.

A - Color is pretty good, a bit darker brown than I expected but really no head from this one, it turns to a slight ring.
S - Slight toasted almond with a bit of sweet malts. Smells ok.
T - Taste starts with a bit of toasted almond with a mild bit of hops but very faint and finishes very sweet with a light bit of caramel and toffee.
M - Light to medium but one of the lightest amber's I ever had.
Overall I actually like this more than Yuengling's amber lager which is puzzling since it's a lower score.

A - Dark bronze color with a average sized, foamy, bubbly, smooth, off-white colored head. Disappears pretty fast leaving a thin layer of lace.
S - Some toasted caramel and grainy malt. This is probably the strongest aroma, but it isn't very strong. Some earthy and herbal hops in the back. A little on the weak side.
T - Better than the nose, but not by much. Toasted caramel malt and grain along with some herbal/tea and earthy hops. Pretty sweet.
M - Medium to light body with average carbonation. Overall just pretty average. Maybe slightly creamy.
D - Overall this is just average. Goes down easy but doesn't inspire me to drink it. Pretty bland and average but not bad.
Notes: Meh. Just an average beer. Pretty bland with just caramel malt and hints of hops. A little on the sweet side, but fairly balanced. It doesn't wow but it is quaffable.

12oz bottle
Pours a clear copper orange color with a small light beige head that shrunk quickly and left no evidence of its existence behind.
The caramel stands out in the nose among a variety of hops, the most noticeable being floral.
The flavor is soft with caramel also standing out up front. I can pick up a little spice, but the hops are not really noticeable. Not much happening in the aftertaste.
Medium body with light carbonation.
This is not a beer that will wow you, but it isn't terrible either. This is similar to the kids that don't ask questions in class, don't fail but also do not get great grades, they just attempt to go by unnoticed.

Amber clear colored beer with a small white fine head. Head dissapates very quickly. Some mild lacing. There are not many carbonation bubbles, it's pretty plain looking. Smell is rather plain. Some basic malts but they are hard to pick out. It's kind of bland. Taste is pretty smooth with some caramel malts and a slight bitter finish. Pretty smooth but not really distinctive. It's an average amber at best but reasonably priced so it gets some drinkability points. Light bodied, light carbonation and smooth. I'd not buy a six-pack but if I was at a bar and it was on tap, I'd probably get one.
