Point's newest offering (June 2004) that replaces the standard Pale Ale that the brewery dropped a few years ago. I was very pleased and surprised by this beer. For a brewery more known for its classic Midwest American lager, this pale ale has a nice taste of the west coast in its bloodlines. Not a true hop head beer by any means, but a very refreshing and Cascade hop flavored pale ale that breaks the mold from this brewery's other offerings.

It pours a nice clear golden/amber with tight carbonation bubbles forming a beautiful soft white head that lingers but does not lace.

The aroma is a generous blend of Cascade hop citrus with just a touch of caramel malt sweetness in the background.

The taste is a very balanced blend of crystal and munich malt sweetness and body with very well-rounded citrusy hop flavors. The bitterness is not in your face, but present in the background coming more to the fore as the ale warms. The ale also has a nice mouthfeel, perhaps due to the munich malts.

Overall this is a very nice and welcome addition to lineup from the Central Wisconsin brewery.

Pours a nice, soft, white head that collapses into an open-celled inch high cushion. Leaves a touch of lacing behind. Bright, citrus hop aroma. Radiant, clear, gold color turns to a nice hazy turbidity as the hop bits are swirled from the bottom of the bottle. Starts bitter with a grapefruit/citrus rind note to it. The malt pops through for just a bit, but then the bitterness comes back to linger in the finish atop the biscuity malt.

A very watery mouthfeel. Overall, the flavor isn't bad (I actually enjoy the flavor), but the mouthfeel is less than satisfying. It's really, really thin...to the point that it pretty severely lowers my liking of this one (one of the RARE times mouthfeel has shifted my dramatically).

Overall this is an enjoyable pale ale. Easy to drink and very mild over all. Very distinct piney hop presence. It's a good beer to enjoy on a hot summer day. Although it may be quite average, it gets the job done when you are craving the pale ale taste for an incredibly affordable price.

This pours a hazy, golden yellow color with a foamy, off white head. There is a pretty simple aroma of hops and citrus, nothing too fancy. The taste is a fairly simple ale that finishes with a little bitter. There are hints of grains, citrus, and lemon zest as well. It drinks easy, it’s local, but it’s nothing all that special unfortunately.

Appearance - Pours a clear, dark golden color with a half inch head that leaves a great lacing behind. It looks so crisp.

Smell - Malts, hops, citrus, and bread.

Taste - Very malty with a strong kick of hops up front. Very floral tasting. The hops are strong but I can sense a little bit of citrus in the background but that's it.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with high carbonation.

Overall - This is a pretty good pale ale. A little stronger than most.
