Appearance - Dark amber. Medium tan head that quickly dissipates.

Smell – Light to medium aroma of roasted malt & slight hop smell but faint

Taste - Slightly sweet medium roasted malt. Toasty & very good for the style (Märzen)

Mouthfeel - Light and crisp, some toasted malt, slightly sweet & smooth

Overall – Great Oktoberfest that is relatively light, but better & heavier than the larger more popular breweries.

Thanks for this one, Jeff.

A: The beer pours a light amber color with a finger of white head.

S: Smells strongly of bubblegum...okay? A bit of bread and toasted malt. Some earthy hop notes and a definite caramel malt. Maybe a bit of metal to it, too.

T: Like the aroma, intense bubblegum flavor. Earthy hops with a light bitterness. Lots of caramel and toffee flavors with a little bit of spices. A little bit of toasted bread.

M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation.

O: The bubblegum just ruined this for me.

Appearance - Medium amber. Clear. Medium off-white head that persists.

Smell - Light aroma of medium roasted malt.

Taste - Primarily sweet medium roasted malt. Toasty. A touch of bitterness and spice.

Mouthfeel - Light and crisp.

Overall - Nice rich malty Oktoberfest that is nonetheless relatively light. Maybe not the best of the bunch, but definitely quaffable.

clean looking with lots of carbonation sneaking up from the bottom. Formed a tight little head of maybe an inch on the top that faded down gradually and then left behind basically nothing.

The aroma was light, bready malts with a hint of a caramel sweetness. Light touch of grape like fruit in their providing a slight nose of sour. Rich tones working their way in the flavor though. Quick, clean hitting and crisp, this was a definite session beer to say the least. Nice well rounded malt flavor with a hint of light hops toward the end that were just enough to provide a nice touch of balance

This beer pours a slightly hazy copper color with a white head. The aroma of this beer smells of sweet munich malt, and spicy noble hops. The taste is strong with munich malt, and some biscuit like flavors. The hop presence isnt very srong. The mouthfeel is medium thick, and is drinkable.

Awesome bottle received from the ever-generous, BeerFMAndy! I added this one to my wants list when I first joined, and am now just knocking it off.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a warm amber/orange with a thin white head on top. Light lace left behind. Nice color though. Scents of smooth malts, sweet candied sugars, toffee, and warm bread. Good nose for the style.

Full crisp body with ample carbonation. Finishes refreshing and smooth. Full bounty of flavors with caramel, toffee, sweet bready malts and finishes with just enough hop presence to keep me satisfied. Good balanced Festbier here. Glad I finally made it to this WI "rarity." Thanks again, Andy.

A- Pours a copper color. Very little head of which that is there, dies almost immediately. Carb bubbles are almost non-existent. From all that you could have guess it...no lacing.

S- Caramel malts.

T- I'm not picking up on much. Bread. Dull overall. Grassy?

M- Very watery. Disappointing.

D/O- Doesn't seem to be that much to it, which adds to the drinkability in that you'd be able to put a few down. Whether or not you'd want to switch to a different Octoberfest would be the question. Did I get a bad bottle somehow? Come to think of it, the cap seemed to have came off way too easy :/

12oz bottle poured into English pint.

A- Pours a nice dark copper with a nice pillowy two fingers worth of head. The head recedes quickly and leaves spotty lacing on the side of the glass.

S- I get more lager malts than anything else. I was hoping for a little bit of sweetness. I also pick up just a little bit of grass.

T- Some nice malts and a little sweetness but I am worried by a metallic taste. Some dark fruits in there as well.

M- Thin to medium bodied that seems to feel a little flat. I really can't tell that there is carbonation there at all.

D- Nothing about this beer sticks out to me. The flavors are bland and lacks carbonation. I hate to say it but I should have reached for a Staghorn.

12 oz brown twist-off bottle.

It pours a nice amberish/orange with a white head that sticks for a bit but doesn't leave much lacing.

The smell is simple, nutty grains and a bit of fruitiness.

The flavor almost brings a saltiniess. There is a noticeable hop bite, buttery malts and a hint of nuttiness. It is a bit sweet and bitter for the style.

It is middle-of-the-raod oktoberfest territory.

Purchased from Three Cellars in Franklin, WI. Pours a clear, orange-amber body with a thin white head. Aroma of toasty and biscuity malts. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. The malt flavor is just a bit thin. Pretty good, but not very memorable.

Poured into a pint glass
A: Aggressive pour yields 1/2 finger of eggshell colored head with poor retention. Head fades to fizz quickly. Clear Amber liquid is nice. More head please.
S: Clean grain with grassy/herbal hop. Smells nice.
T: Strong bready graininess, little hop that increases later on in the beer. A bit cloying, the flavors do not meld well.
M: A bit thin. Modest bitterness
D: Eh, wouldn't order another and I won't buy again. It does go down easy though.

This beer pours a clear bronze color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes quickly into thin lacing. The aroma is bready malt, toffee, and hints of grassy hops. It is a nice aroma, but it is quite tame. The taste comes through a bit more with the same profile as the aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with lively carbonation, and a smooth texture. Overall, this is an alright beer, and I could drink it again. On the other hand, there are a lot better Oktoberfests out there.

12 oz bottle poured into an Imperial Pint. Bottled on 11Aug09. A paragraph of info but no ABV.

A - Gemuetlichkeit has a beautiful, brilliant clear yellow-honeyed orange color but is sadly topped by an incredibly small and short-lived off-white head. No ring, layer, or lacing.

S - Grassy hops are immediately evident with a leaf-pile and dirt-like earthy nose. It's hard to get much beyond that but I can pick up mild notes of toasted malts. Not my favorite and a bit too hoppy in general for an Okto.

T - The nose foreshadows the flavor almost perfectly, it's definitely a hoppier oktoberfest with the same earthy, grassy hops upfront. The malts do shine a tad more than in the aroma though. The background has a weak toasty malt presence far too overshadowed for the style.

M - Crisp and light-bodied, it has a moderately sharp carbonation bite to the finish that ends dry. It's a bit watery feeling too.

D - The weakest Tyranena I've had by far, this oktoberfest is almost a pale (in flavor) lager. It's lacking a solid malt backbone to combat the overly hopped flavor. The finish gets drier and drier with each sip. Not a great example of what an oktoberfest can be. Plus it's grassy hops are far too potent. Blech.

A - A light pour gives off a clear, golden brown body that has about a finger thick white head. There is some carbonation bubbles that are rising to the top.

S - Strong smell of caramel malts and grains. There is also a slight hop smell but the smell is quite faint in comparison to the caramel malts.

T - Caramel and malts are what standout most. There is also some hops that are present.

M - Medium bodied. Good carbonation to balance the hops, caramel, malts and grains. Caramel and malts are initial in the mouth with a nice level of carbonation providing a balance for the hop finish.

D - One of the best oktoberfests I've had. I could have a few of these in a session.
