This just arrived this past Friday so it's the time to try it at its freshest. It pours a very bright and vibrant burnt orange in color with a light white lacing around the glass. Despite the lack of head it still appears to be well carbonated. The aromas consist of interesting spice with slight natural pumpkin. For a pumpkin ale, it's kind of mellow. It isn't overboard on the cinnamon or nutmeg at all. The flavors are interesting. To me it tastes like squash with cinnamon. Interesting to say the least. I didn't expect to pickup a different gourd. The more I sip it the more squash I get. It's pretty decent though. Overall it's better than alot of pumpkins out there but I wouldn't necessarily buy a six pack. It's worth a try if you like the style.

(Served in a straight sided mug)
A- This beer has a clear reddish-brown body with a thin tan creamy head that last a bit and a sea of strong carbonation.
S- This beer has a soft dry caramel malt note with a softer dry spice note.
T- The soft sweetness mixes with a soft spice heat that has a slight banana quality. It finishes with a light bitterness from hops that grows just a bit as the beer open ups.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a soft fizz.
D- This beer has a soft malt and spice flavor that is a bit odd together but to subtle to really taste.

Pours a decent deep orange-amber with very little head and just a slight bit of nice lacing. Scent is a bit of sweet malt with a bit of pumpkin spice, but very little deep aroma overall. Nice flavor with some decent malt and hints of spice, but nothing big. Went down fairly smooth, especially for being over 7%. An alright pumpkin ale, but nothing great.

Thanks to Dave for this bottle. Had it on 10/28, from notes.

Pours bronze with an off white head into my tulip. Good retention and spotty lacing.

Smells hearty. Vibrant spices of the usual variety over caramel malts and a good pumpkin presence. Nuttiness is present as well.

Taste has a moderate spice that isn't too overpowering which is good in my book. Hey- the base beer here isn't too bad. Although, the after taste leaves a weird spiciness-metallic flavor on the palate. Off-putting to say the least.

This beer is a bit over-carbonated, but has a pretty good malt backbone to stand up to all the spices. Nice to try but I'm not a fan of pumpkin beers and I struggled to take down the bottle. Just not interesting to me (note my bias).

12 oz. bottle poured into a Bells tulip

It pours a deep amber, dark copper with a really head that barely even forms before dying. No lacing a tall.

The aroma is pretty light on the pumpkin pie spices, pretty malty with some distinct caramel coming through. A little bit of alcohol is detected when the beer warms.

Flavor-wise, the spicing is one again pretty light and a sweet caramel malts stick out. The finish has kind of a sharp metallic thing to it which isn't pleasant. The overall flavor profile is pretty simplistic and straightforward. The body is medium/full and the carb level is a little too high for my liking.

12oz bottle poured into stein.

A- Pours a nice amber with orange around the outside where the light penetrates. A minimal head, about a half finger's worth that recedes in the blink of an eye and leaves no lacing.

S- I pick up the pumpkin and spice initially but it is then followed by a fruity bubble gumminess that is reminiscent of pepto bismal. Also a little bit of read licorice rounds it out.

T- Pumpkin combines with that bubblegum again. Doesn't really fit and I cannot tell you where it is coming from. A little spice lingers on the back of the tongue and that is about it.

M- Medium to lighter bodied that feels slightly watered down. Feels a little on the flat side but isn't necessarily a bad thing.

D- The high point of the beer is that you can't tell it's 7.5% but that is about it. The bubble gum taste throws the whole beer off and can't get back on track.

Poured into rare vos glass.

Pours 1 finger of creamy beige head, slightly tan. Leaves some splattered lace. Color is a ruby orange hued copper.

Aroma: Nutmeg, cinnamon, spices. pumpkin. Very flavorful with a fall season aroma to it.

Taste: A huge mess of spices. Way to much going on here. Pumpkin, cinnamon, and a ton of nutmeg. This isn't very tasty.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Mouthfeel is very spiced leaving a horrible aftertaste that is over spiced.

Overall, I thought, based on the aroma, this would be an alright beer. But the taste and mouthfeel were horrible. I could barely finish this beer.

Good looking dark orange boardering on brown with a creamy tan/off white head. Any kind of beer-like aroma is quickly overpowered by the cinamon, nutmeg pumpkin pie spice. I know this style is supposed to be spiced in this way, but it is a little too much. Smooth thick, creamy sweetness on the palate that instantly gets pushed out of the way by the spice. Very thick creamy mouthfeel, a lot of body in this beer. This is not bad for a one and done change of pace desert beer for the fall. Would probably go good with my Mom's pumpkin pie. Not a beer that I could conume on a regular basis.

Aroma:Some light spicy notes.

Appearance:Pale orange in color.

Taste:I'm not impressed with the flavor on this one. It's got some malt and spice notes, but there's absolutely no pumpkin flavor.

Mouthfeel:Light to medium body. Good carbonation.

Drinkability:It's a sub-par pumpkin beer.

A- Uniform bubble distribution on par with apple juice poured aggressively into a glass. Dissipates all too quickly leaving the same sized bubbles floating along the edges with the barest hints of what used to be the head. The barest amounts of lacing stuck about on the walls of the glass. Body is off-ruby at best, turbid like all pumpkin ales. There is no sign of carbonation from the depths of this beer.

S- Interesting. The first note is this sherry like apple aroma. Hints of grapes. Tad bit of alcohol presence. This is a pumpkin beer? The only hint of baking spices and pumpkin is in the middle of it having some earthy tendencies I equate to butternut squash. I'm dissappointed. If this wasn't classified as a Pumpkin ale it probably would have scored better.

T- Again, there is this grape and apple mixture that is hinted with the bare flavors of squash. Not even really pumpkin, but general squash. Right before the finish there is a mild hop character that leads into the mild ending. For leftover flavors we have bitter hops and some ginger.

As it warms the squash becomes the barest hint of a pumpkin flavor. It is lacking still, even with noticing it... you can't call it a pumpkin beer if the flavor feels like an after thought.

M- Overly carbonated to the point of distracting from how uncharacteristic this pumpkin beer is. Moderate body.

D- If I want a pumpkin beer, I would never drink this. It isn't even a pumpkin beer. It better have been an infected batch or bottle, because if this is what pumpkin should be, no one has had it right except them. If you overlook its trangressions, it isn't that bad. Just not to style.

Painted ladies pours a dark cooper with a nice head. There is a sugary water aroma; no pumpkin. The taste is very weak, has a sugar water flavor, a strange rotten taste. Couldn't finish drinking one, weak taste, and a rotten flavor made it very hard to drink, Overall this is clearly just a stay away beer, cant say much good about this one.
