1L can purchsed for the novelty. Clear, bright yellow with a finger or so of head which doesn't last long. Looks like a lager should.

Smells grainy, slghtly sweet, with a bit of grass and a metallic note from the hops. Taste is not dissimilar, although this is noticeably bitter for this kind of beer. Sweet grain, grassy hops, a slight toasty note in the finish as well as a hint of lager sourness. As the giant can warms up the sweetness dominates. Keep cold.

Light and crisp, goes down easy. If you want a pretty boring lager, this will serve you quite well. Better than Heineken or whatever. I dunno, it's hard to review stuff like this. Cool can, though. Which is how I got here in the first place.

Every once in a while a free can of Faxe gets forced onto my person from some chesty marketing girls outside my local soccer stadium. I usual give them away but I decided to give it another try

A: Not much to say here. looks like crappy euro lager. pale straw colored with NO head at all.

S: Even fairly cold from my fridge, its a bit offensive. Not the worst ever lager but kind of sweet and metallic.

T: Something is wrong with the malt here. tastesbadman.jpg Bitter in all the wrong way, horrible finish. metallic and awful.

M: Over-carbonated and grainy. decently dry though, but I get the impression that aspect is unintended.

Overall: Why bother with this? If this is your only choice for a beer, i really pity you.

1 litter can served in a chalice.

A: Pours a clear pale yellow to orange color forming a medium fluffy aired bubbled white head. Medium retention and some lacings left

S: Smells like a Euro Lager. Sweet grains, lager yeasts and hops. Annoying plastic smell here

T: Sweet grains backbone. Mild flowery hops bitterness. A dry crispy beer, in overall. Bit metallic too

M: Very light lager body. Good carbonation. Mild bitter end

O: Drinkable beer. A good Lager, I would dare to say

Another 1 liter can of Faxe, this also picked up in Germany at a highway stop.
It pours a dark golden yellow color, with a 2 finger head that disappeared fast. Some bubbles rising to the top visible in the glass. Nothing special as far as the aroma is concerned, just lots of malts. Tons of malts on the taste too, with a slighty bitter aftertaste. A bit stinky taste. Watery mouthfeel. Medium to high carbonation, dry on the palte
I was kind of disappointed with this one.

500 mL can from TBS; best before November 2012.

Pours a bright, clear golden-yellow colour, generating about a half-finger of white, foamy head. It lasts for a minute or two before fizzling away, leaving an even, wispy cap behind. Rings of lacing coat the sides of the glass as the volume drops with each sip. Very effervescent, with tons of bubbles rushing to the surface. A reasonably attractive pale lager. Decent aroma reminiscent of a bland German pilsener; some bready pale malts and light grassiness with a hint of lemon.

Decent taste; much like the aroma it is inoffensive and boring, but balanced. Bready malt sweetness and a light graininess are countered by some modest grassy bitterness. Thin mouthfeel; maybe a bit more body than your typical Euro lager. Surprisingly low carbonation level, certainly lower than average for an EPL... this makes it not an especially crisp-tasting lager, but a bit smoother than average.

I am slightly impressed with this beer, but keep in mind that a) I like pale lagers in general and b) my expectations were kind of low to begin with. Much like the other beers from this brewery that I have tried, this is a serviceable, unremarkable brew that tastes alright for the style and offers little else beyond that. For what it's worth, I'd pick this over comparable imports like Carlsberg or Heineken in a heartbeat based on taste alone; the lower price is just a bonus.

Final Grade: 3.35, a low B-. Worth a try if you like the style, but otherwise this is something to skip.
