A: The clear pale golden beer holds small bubbles. The light white head is medium tall and leaves poor lacings.
S: Rich maltyness together with dry bitter hops. Citric notes as well as grass and nettles. Crisp.
T: Very crisp. Somewhat dry bitter hops, together with the rich maltyness. A rather humble beer, but still complex. Citric notes, grass and nettles.
M: A bit sour bitter aftertaste lingers. The body is light while carbonation is rich, but not aggresive.
O: A nice Kölsch, true to the style. The light sour twist was quite nice.

Serving type: 500 ml bottle. There is no easily discernable freshness date. There is a “Best before End:” space on the back label, but nothing printed there.
Appearance: Served in a Stange. The beer is a light straw color and topped with a thick, white, meringue-like head that settles very slowly and unevenly, leaving foam stuck to the glass.
Smell: Crisp and very floral. It has that barnyard or freshly cut hay aroma. It also has nice esters, too — strawberry, apple, and even a little banana — and a splash of citrus.
Taste: Crisp, clean, and dry. It mostly mirrors the smell, though the floral bitterness really shines. Hay loft, pale malts, some esters, a splash of zest, and a really nice bite.
Drinkability: Light, tasty, and refreshing. This is good stuff.

I think this is only my second kolsch but I have to say that this unfortunately tastes a lot like high school beer with a German twist. Initialy it's got that metallic taste you'd like to forget. Later it's a bit sweeter in the malty way but tastes similar to the various mainstream German import pilsners like St. Pauli Girl or Beck's or Warsteiner. Occasionally there's a hint of vague fruit. There's a faint hint of bitterness in the aftertaste.
It's not bad but not memorable or distinct. In fairness, I have no idea how old it is. It didn't look like a big mover at the store. It's not a beer I'd buy again because it doesn't seem to have much of an identity - so there's no real reason to. If it was what was available for a session with friends, fine. No problem. You'd forget the name by the next day.

1 L bottle. Pretty basic Kolsch appearance, but it's really nice nonetheless - clear straw gold with a pure white head that drops a nice sheet of lace. Mild husky grain, hops give a nice balance and add some pleasant grassiness and a hint of lemon peel. Bit of muskiness gives a rustic feel to it. A faint herbal bitterness lingers on the palate along with a slight soapiness.
An enjoyable Kolsch that hits all of the style requirements. I drank this right after a Fruh Kolsch and preferred Fruh for its more refined and brighter flavors along with the lower ABV. That said, Sunner is plenty enjoyable on a spring day and I would gladly drink it again.

Pours a clear, gold/yellow. Head is white and large, and lasts quite awhile.
Smells similar to noble hops and crystal malt. Sweet honey and mild biscuit. Delicious and bright aroma!
Taste is similar to a pilsner, but a little less bright with a more pronounced bitterness. None of the honey detected in the nose is present in the flavor, but the hops and malt are pretty close to a pilsner. I don't know, it's just like a different side of the same ingredients. That's a terrible description... but it's tasty!
Refreshing and crisp! A good summer beer, easy drinker.
All around delicious, and satisfying representation of the Kolsch style. I'd drink er again!

500 ml bottle poured into a Hinterland stange.
5.3% ABV, Best before end: 2 13 notched.
A - Vibrantly clear, this Kölsch pours a shining pale golden color with a persistent white head. The lumpy pile of foam lowers slowly, shrouding the slender glass in chunky patterns of lace.
S - Sünner Kölsch has an inviting aroma of light pale malt and delicate notes of pear and green apple from a warmer fermentation. Subtle water minerals and sulfur finish out this crisp aroma prefacing a sure-to-be-drinkable brew!
T - As delicate as the aroma suggests, this beer offers a simplistic flavor profile of dried straw and grainy pale malt with a lingering kiss of minerals and soft undertones of pear fruit esters from fermentation.
M - Crisp and refreshing indeed! This beer has the perfect level of carbonation, dancing on the tongue without a harsh bite on the finish, all while livening up the dry, light body. A kiss of noble hop bitterness crosses the palate along the back end of this beer.
O - An excellent example of the style, this light beer perfectly marries ale and lager characteristics with notes of fruit while remaining crisp, clean, and exceptionally drinkable.

Sünner Kölsch has a medium-to-thick white head, a somewhat hazy, bubbly, golden appearance, with a bit of lacing left behind and little white specs suspended throughout. The aroma is of pungent, sweet, bready, malt, and the flavor is the same, with a light hop bitterness and some biscuit aspects as well. The mouthfeel is light to medium, and Sünner Kölsch finishes crisp, clean, refreshing and dry- like a lager. Overall, this is very good and enjoyable. Check it out!
