Poured a khaki brown with orange highlights that had a 2 finger of head which died quickly and left great sticky lacing on the glass. The nose was really on point with thr tripel style which consisted of belgian yeast, pear, and apple aromas. It also had slight spice. And citrus notes. The taste was pretty close to the nose but the belgian yeast was more potent and the fruit flavors were more vibrant; really good take on the tripel. On the back end it also seemed to be a little spicey and boozy. The brew was medium body with a good amount of carbonation that had a sweet spicey and slight boozy finish. It drank really well and was quite pleasent considering the disaster of a tripel I had the night before. I almost enjoy every beer these guys make.

A: Pours a deep, translucent gold, capped by a frothy one and a half finger white head. The head settles down to a very thin layer but resists the urge to break up reasonably well, eventually lacing spotty lacing behind.

S: Lots of sweet fruit up front with apples, pears, and some light green grapes, all seemingly dusted with cinnamon. Behind the fruit lies some lemon zest, peppery notes and wheat with a light toastiness.

T: Fruit is up front again in a slightly less sweet capacity with apples and pears taking the lead again, along with some light figs and peaches. Spicy notes come in mid-palate with pepper, lemon zest and some notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Wheat makes a brief appearance just before the finish before fruit takes back over for a long semi-sweet finish. Very light alcohol heat.

M: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation, has a creamy feel over the tongue.

D: Could be a bit lighter on the tongue and the booze could be a bit more hidden, but overall drinks easily.

A - Lots of loud foamy head that sticks around long enough that you have to wait a bit before you can drink it. Light apricot color.

S - A mix of apply fruit and, I swear, a bit of leather like you get in some scotches. Interesting.

T - Fresh, bright, and clean. The booze is just prominent enough to be noticed but not enough to be distracting. It's well integrated as a flavor component. The warmer it gets, the more of an apple cider flavor I get. It's interesting and crisp while colder, sweeter and maltier when warmer. Neat.

M - Somehow this is sort of dry while at the same time ending a bit sticky and nectary... and then slightly dry again. Fun.

O - This is really pleasant, and I'm not big on this style. Very well balanced, tight, classy. Another winner from Nogne O. My reigning champ favorite brewery. I won't say it's remarkably robust or complex, but it's a surprisingly easy drinker, and well done.

On-tap at the Moan & Dove into a tulip glass.

A: Hazy, warm gold body with just a hint of orange, toped with a finger of frothy head that subsides into a cap. Substantial lacing.

S: Smooth, toasted malt, grassy hops, and some fruity, mildly spicy yeast. Well-balanced but somewhat underpowered.

T: Starts out with apricot, raspberry, and flowery hops, followed by some malty body and a nice, long, yeasty finish. Very nice.

M: Eminently smooth with a light but firm body and some fine, velvety carbonation. Perfect for the style.

D: Nary a hint of alcohol ruins the smooth, tasty experience, which is impressive for such a powerful beer.

Notes: Not the most dynamic tripel, but a solid offering nonetheless. I'd be happy to run across it again.

First of all i gotta say i love the label of this brew which displays a tiger wearing glasses and gives a good explanation of the brew anyways it pours a golden honey hue with nice carbonation that leaves a creamy full two finger head with lacing all around the rim,it has aromas of sweet honey,flowers(daffodils) and some caramel malts aswell but i gotta admit it is very flowery but nice at the same time,it has a easy medium mouthfeel to it with tastes of honey soaked pears,grapes,marzipan and it finishes with a full smooth toffee mouthfeel taste and the ABV doesnt really rear its head that much at all and to be quite honest its a nice brew that will definately buy again but that doesnt suprise me with this brewery as i cant really remember one from them that i have really disliked cheers.

Good tripel. This beer pours hazy and medium gold. Decent enough white head but less than you'd expect from the style and from the bubbles that tried to creep out of bottle after I waited a few seconds too long to pour. Initially, the aroma is minerals, raisins, sugar cane and caramel. The minerally notes work in this beer's favor and seem to keep things from going too far down the medicinal path. After a bit, I'm getting honey and a strong orange sherbet aroma, as well. Mild peppercorn. Taste is medium sweet with some warming booze. The sweetness is a bit simple but clean and good. Finishes with mild hop bitterness and some mineral flavor. Mouthfeel is significantly less effervescent than is typical, but I like the direction. This is a simple, well-done tripel.

A - One finger of white foam on top of a slightly hazy, gold colored body. The head dissipates quickly and leaves little lace.

S - Spicy yeast, notes of clove, pepper, and fruity pear. Some sweet, graham cracker like pilsner malt and juicy red apple.

T - Round, bready malt, mixed with spicy clove and pepper notes up front. Transitions to fruity yeast flavors of red apple and pears in the middle with lingering clove spice. Finishes peppery and hoppy with earthy noble hop flavors and moderate bitterness balanced by honey pilsner malt notes. Lingering hop flavors coat the palate and blend nicely with residual yeast spice notes.

M - Medium-thick body, moderate carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish.

D - As usual, I am pretty impressed with this Nogne O offering. There is an excellent, spicy yeast character at work in this beer and it works nicely with the earthy hops. The aroma is nice as well with some unique fruity notes. Quite drinkable and well balanced, my only complaint is that it lacks the intense carbonation and heavy foam that I am used to seeing in this style. The lower than usual carbonation leaves the beer feeling a bit sweeter in the finish than it really is and threatens to create some cloying heaviness in an otherwise bright and refreshing beer.

Good Tripel!! Poured into my trusty Chimay goblet as a muddy orange color with a big, delicate white head. Lots of small bubbles. No lacing on the glass. Head retention pretty good for a 9% beer. Moderate and pleasant aroma of Belgian yeast and fruit (apples and pears).

Taste is very good. Belgian yeast and fruit are most prominent and some candi sugar as well. This one says Belgium, not Norway.

Mouthfeel is rich and very smooth. There is no hint of the alcohol unless you take a big gulp. Plenty of carbonation

Drinkability is good for a beer of this strength. Definitely a sipper but well worth it.

A: Poured from a bottle to a goblet. Had a yellow-orange color and a cloudy consistency. There was a thin amount of foamy head that quickly dissipated. Not very much lacing.

S: A very fruity smell (peach, apples), along with a strong malty quality.

T: Tasted of light fruits, malt, yeast, and spices. A well-balanced flavor all around. Alcohol content wasn't as powerful as with some tripels.

M: A highly carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

D: A drinkable, well made beer.

A - Murky, semi-opaque honey. Low head.

S -Earthy. Plantains, pineapple rind, apricot.

T - Earthy hay and pepper. Touch or orange. Cilantro. Honey. Very saison-like.

M - Medium body. Nice carbonation. Balanced semi-dry finish.

O - Nice flavor profile.

The beer pours a beautiful golden color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a dry, earthy yeast scent that compliments a sweet pale malt and bitter hop aroma. The taste is good as well. It has a smooth pale malt flavor that goes down easy with bit of sweetness and a mild hop character. The yeast esters create a fine fruity/earthy finish. It's extremely drinkable for a 9% beer. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate/good carbonation. This is a good drinking beer. It's got excellent yeast character and a nice hop presence.

I picked this up about 9 months ago and let it age in my cellar. I thought that it would make for a fine sipper (it didn't pair with empanadas, but it never should have).

They mention how hard tripels are to make on the label. That may be true, but I have been lucky to find many good ones so far. Nonge did a good job on this one... you might say that they hit a triple.

Tiger is a well made beer. I like the mix of sweetness, hops, and distinct malt presence. There was also a decent amount of fruitiness. The multiple flavors worked into a very strong balance.

I'd recommend this beer, but I imagine that it is pretty hard to find. Beyond that Nonge is pretty expensive. Still, pick up a bottle if you find it.

On-tap poured into snifter.

A - Golden color, slightly cloudy with medium head that dissipates quickly leaving no lacing.

S - Bready yeast smell at first followed by citrus.

T - Slightly bready at first followed by slightly tart citrus with spices.

M - Light bodied with medium carbonation.

D - Very good, could definitely have more than one even though abv is high.

Pours a golden-brown colour, slightly pale and translucently cloudy. Head is decent when first poured, sinks to a thin crown, but fed by a steady stream of bubbles, very strong in fact, keeps it alive from beneath. Good colour, lace is decent. Maybe a bit too carbonated.

Nose is pungent, and delicious, and deliciously pungent. Huge amounts of rich, ripe fruit - peach, apricot and fresh figs, as well as white grape skins and a lot of fortified wine/sherry sweetness. All capped off by a tasty blend of spice - pepper, nutmeg, anise and turmeric. Big capsicum sourness lingering behind. The strength of odour gives hints of alcohol, but no methyl character. Stunning and arresting nose. Beautifully done.

Taste is somewhat less complex, at least immediately. Starts sweet and sour, with more fruit - peaches, figs, banana as well, and stewed pears - giving way to a piquant spice, lots of clove and cinnamon, even paprika come through on the mid and more of that capsicum sourness. Even a slight chilli whazzo! hit on the end, a really arousing spice to this, especially at the back.

Mouthfeel is slightly disappointing, quite sizzly and sharp. I guess that's where you notice the alcohol, if you swill it in the mouth. But not quite as much body as I'd like either.

Absolutely no hit of alcohol though, this is a really deadly drop. Deceptively drinkable and very tasty, just superbly handled with all the right Belgian characters and an immensely satisfying sweet/spicy balance. Awesome.
