Orange strides. 1/2" off white head. Aroma was astringent, bitter, but not imparting specific hop notes.
Taste was super bitter, like a throwback to those 90s ipas without any dry hopping. Way down the pint (it was on tap) I found some minor grapefruit and orange notes come into play.
Anyways, neat to check out a dipa from halfway around the world, but I've got way better stuff around me just one state over.

Appearance: misty-cloudy deep amber body with a two finger creamy looking light tan head that leaves nothing on the glass
Aroma: soft citrus, soft sweet grains, overall delicate
Flavors: soft citrus reminding me of pink grapefruit rind; some soft fruits, pear comes to mind; firm caramel malts and grains; tasty overall
Mouthfeel: decent carbonation to keep it refreshing; medium body; moderate bitterness – I would never guess 100 IBU’s; soft bitterness and earthy on the aftertaste
To the Point: a pleasing IPA; a weak Double; for 9 or 10 bucks a bottle I would spend my time with a real DIPA

Saw this bottle on a shelf and just had to grab it. I mean, come on, a beer collab between guys from Norway and Japan? That is just too strange to pass up. It also had a complete ingredient list, which always buys you into my good graces.
That said, I made the purchase over 3 years ago. The (in my opinion) stunningly handsome bottle sat in my fridge at 57 degrees for that long, so I imagine some strange things are in store.
Bottle popped with a huge hiss and foam slowly crept up the neck. Not so fast I lost any, but the head was massive and required a few minutes to tame. I suppose we can't blame some residual yeast for doing a little extra work, since they had so long to go at it! Head is a dark cream and very, very sticky. Body is a full sunrise-to-caramel gradient and has plenty of fine little yeasties kicked up in it. Maybe a little murky, but a pretty enough colour.
Nose is a sheer wall of old barleywine. Tropical jam and new wood. Some fresh apple skins. Surprisingly little dustyness. Tiniest hints of leather.
Body is stunningly laid-back given the nose. No bitters up front, then a touch of malt, then a ton of bright and spicy bitters, then a slow burn of darker malts. Rather simple, realy.
Mouthfeel is downright creamy, then very lightly syrupy. Almost feels like a lot of the carb blew out upon opening, sadly.
I can't even imagine what this was like when it was released or how they thought it would age, but it turned out pretty damn well. If you find a bottle that was well-stored, don't hesitate because of the dating!

Served in a 16 oz snifter.
A- Dark golden orange. Huge overflowing head with lots of lacing on the glass.
S- Sweet malts, biscuit, some citrus and pine.
T- Sweet biscuity malts, followed by citrus and bitter pine. Has grassy/pine hop bitterness at the finish.
M- Medium bodied, but on the thinner side. Fairly smooth with high carbonation and dry finish.
O- Glad I picked this up, but don't think I would get it again. Too many good DIPA's in the US to keep searching for good DIPA's overseas.

Appearance: Spews like a volcano and then pours with a massive head that sits atop the very cloudy amber liquid; fine stickage and lace are the by-products
Smell: Toffee, pear and some pith
Taste: Bread and toffee, up front, but the 100 IBUs still make an impact, even after all of this time, bringing fruit and pith elements that build, after the swallow, though in a rather mellow way; the finish is rather malty but this is neither sweet nor sticky
Mouthfeel: Full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Found this in the back of the fridge and opened it, without checking to see its age; as others have noted, even when this beer was fresh, this has a barleywine character to it and, if I were blindfolded, I would guess English Barleywine or Old Ale; thinking of it that way, this is a fine drinker, indeed
Thanks, mrmiles, for the opportunity

A: Poured from a bottle to a tulip glass. Had an amber color with dark tints. There was an inch of foamy, long-lasting head. Very good lacing.
S: A subtle, yet well-defined aroma of hops, caramel, pine and malt.
T: Tasted of hops and a big shot of caramel up front, with malt and a piney quality in the finish. Not quite as hoppy as most DIPAs, but this doesn't stop it from being flavorful.
M: A lot of carbonation with a slightly slick finish. Medium-bodied.
D: An interesting and totally drinkable DIPA.

A: poured a chocolate brown in color with pale yellow highlights that had a thin head and left a little lacing sticking to the glass.
S: pear fruitness was upfront with caramel, sweetness from the malts and faint citrus with brown sugar was also noticeable.
T: the caramel was more apparent on the palate a very mild hop bite alongside pear citrus accents and good sweetness from the malts.
M: the brew was medium in body with a good amount of carbonation which had a sweet, milds fruity, hoppy, and sticky finish.
D.it drank below average and was not as hop forward as I like my DIPA's to be; oh well.
