I guess I may be a bit biased since I almost solely shop here for food. It more than gives me an excuse to buy beer, I mean, why not? The selection is great for what it is. It IS a natural foods store so if anyone expects a full blown liquor store is out of luck. They carry a number of quality domestics such as bells, flying dog, great divide, anchor, and now avery! The imports range from paulaner, to fullers, to Samuel smiths. It is a great go-to place and located smack dab in the middle of st louis. The stock is rotated and always fresh. I also notice new beers all of the time so each visit has me visting the beer cooler. The selection of glasses is top notch as well and they are quite cheap at $2 for most.

My only beef is that everything is refrigerated. Obviously this is better for the beer however my beer fridge isn't that big so I keep my stock located in my basement. I do not like having to chill an entire six pack.

I like the vibe of this place. Not having one close to where I live, it's a rare pleasure when I get a chance to visit one. Sure, it's not a beer store, but they have a good selection of quality items. This location offers quite a few locals, plus a decent smattering of imports and the usual macro suspects. They also offer a modest selection of individually priced singles. All in all, you could do a lot worse.

Fairly typical WFM set up, in a mall, not far from the airport.

Take care of all your food needs and pick up quality beer all in one spot.

Expect to find a better then decent selection of the usual good stuff, from near and far…but I didn’t see anything overly special or interesting

Not much to say for atmosphere. It's a grocery store and it's busy. Really not a great vibe for beer shopping but convenient if you are there grocery shopping (I was not).

No problems with quality, everything in the joint seems fresh and with the high volume of people they have relatively quick turnover of products.

Can't speak about service really as I don't require much help. A young guy did ask if I was doing alright though so I suppose that counts as positive.

The selection is ok. The bottle selection is a little disjointed as most lines they carry aren't complete. I found a few things of interest but kept wanting one step more. It was exciting to see certain lines there, but disappointing again when I'd see only a few options.

Overall it's a decent place. I would revisit if I were in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Obvisously this is a large chain store, but they do have a very solid beer selection. Prices are reasonable to maybe a touch on the high side. From a selection standpoint, they have most of the popular craft brews and certainly a great selection of local ones if you're from out of town and looking for those. They do get some of the speacial, limited beers, and I've had some great luck finding stuff here when others were sold out, so much so that I call them after my fisrt go to is sold out. I've gotten BCS Vanilla, Charleville Box of Chocolate, and Firestone Walker Parabola all here.

This Whole Foods has a selection like just about every other Whole Foods- which is to say, pretty solid. Good mix of locals, American, and foreign craft stuff. This is actually the #1 Odell acount in the area, so good spot for their stuff. The service here is always awesome; as soon as I come over to look at something, there's always someone to help me. Andy is now overseeing wine but he's been the beer guy here and is a super nice dude who really knows his stuff. It's Whole Foods, so the food costs a ton but the beer here is right in line with prices in the rest of the area.

Well this is a grocery store so only certain things can be expected.

Quality is very very good for a grocery stuff. They have very limited quantities but the they have good Belgians, good Americans and pretty good British stuff. They also have some nice local stuff. A nice even split of good sixers and pretty good bombers.

Service is very good. Both times I've been here I was offered help by the same employee who was very nice, helpful and suggested a greta DIPA when I asked. A in my book.

Prices are right.

As most reviewers have said, this is a pretty good place to get beer even though it is a grocery store. The selection is a little limited by space, but what they have is good. Nothing there really surprised me except a sixer of Lamar St (a Goose Island created brewed specifically for Whole Foods). They had some nice bombers and 750s of good stuff. Also, had some nice Belgians. One can also assume that most of the stuff is pretty fresh, since grocery stores have pretty good turnover (plus the place was very busy). I've seen grocery stores with larger selections, but the ratio of high quality craft brew was still pretty impressive. It's worth a stop if you wife has dragged you to go shopping at the many stores in the area.

Quality/Selection- For a supermarket the selection is great. Honestly the selection is not huge but bigger than some of the quote on quote beer stores in the area. It seems that they stay up on a lot of the trendy beers. The store has a great selection of Belgian and Belgian Style beers from a lot of the American breweries that specialize in that. All the local favorites were there Schlafly, O'Fallon and even Charleville.

Service- The service was great there are a bunch of Beer Geeks that work there we hung out for a few minutes and talked about what was coming out soon. Beer places I should check out when I make my bi-monthly run to St. Louis. It was great to find these guys in a supermarket.

Food- N/A

Value- A little bit pricey but they do have a sale rack which was small but good. I picked up a bottle of Green's Trippel and Endeavor for $2.49 each.

The best beer stop I have found in St. Louis. If you have the time, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes, if you talk a little, there are goodies in the back that they will bring out if you know what you are talking about (Bell's Two Hearted minikeg). I have always found them to be a great resource. Their beer selection is also very good. I have found most things that I am looking for that I can get in St. Louis. I have been turned on to some really good beers by the staff of this place. And when you are done they have some good food too. My only gripe would be that things are a little over priced, but its an organic grocer in a large midwestern city dominated by Anheuser-Busch(...)

The Whole Foods store on Brentwood is a regular beer stop for me. The bottles are never out-of-date, dusty, or skunked. A majority of the beers are in the cooler while the bombers, foreign beers, and special beers are on shelves.

Service has never been a problem. Help is usually available to answer any questions.

The selection is healthy but not huge. Domestically, you'll find a wide range of Bell's, Goose Island, Great Divide, New Belgium, Sierra Nevada just to name a few. The selection of Belgians includes Chimay, Rochefort, Duvel, Houblon Chouffe, and St. Bernardus. You'll also find beers from Germany, Canada, and Japan if you so desire.

Prices are on par with others in the St. Louis market.

Nice store. Good selection of Bells products was the 2nd thing I noted. (The 4-packs of GI Bourbon County Stout were the first)

They've crammed a pretty nice collection of good beer into a small area, so I won't slam the selection - this IS a grocery store after all.
There were even a couple unexpected finds here.

Purchased a BCS, Schalfly Irish Dry Stout, some Bells Third Hearted and too many others to mention. I'll be back.

Prices weren't out of line with what I expected, but I did save a dollar or two on most options by buying them at Lukas. Of course, I had lunch at Whole Foods and bought some baked goods, which were all tasty.

Didn't receive much service, but didn't need much either. What I got was friendly and somewhat helpful.

Whole Foods is nicely located on South Brentwood Boulevard, easily accessable from I-64 (east or west). Each of my visits to Whole Foods have come at different days/times, and I must say that they are a busy place! Whole Foods is one of those organic/natural food superstores, and while you are there, you should browse the different varities of food products available.

Quality. The beer selection here is limited, but nice. You certainly will not find any macro-stuff here! They have a great selection of Bell's (5-6 types, 6ers), Arcadia, ODell and New Belgium. They also carry Unibroue, Rogue, North Coast, La Chouffe, Goose Island, Dupont and of course Schlafly. Prices seem to be a bit high.

Service. Did not see anyone nor was I offered help, but didn't need any either. Nothing wrong here.

Selection. As mentioned above, selection is a bit limited, yet they carry some things that I have not spotted in other stores, which makes this worthy of stopping in every month or so. The Bell's selection makes this a no-brainer for me, as Whole Foods is the closest location for us Illinois-deprived-Bell's lovers.

Bottom line--a decent enough variety to stop in, but not something to go out of your way.

After reading the buzz regarding Whole Foods, I had to make a stop in and check it out. I was in late on a Friday, and didn’t get to meet Andy – darn the luck.

It’s a little disconcerting to make your way through a huge supermarket, in search of beer. But I found the smallish (I’d estimate a 8’ x 20’ refrigerated section) area of beer towards the back and in the middle. I was offered a wine taste, uh, no thanks.

The entire store is upscale, bright and clean, and most beer prices were OK. Fairly easy access, as the store is in the first mall area after you exit 40/64 highway on Brentwood. Central location in STL is another plus

I have been unbelievably remiss in reviewing Whole Foods, but a last minute dash to pick up lunch, and some Thanksgiving necessities allowed me buy some beer and visit with the beer manager Andy. He's working hard to get everything he can for his limited shelf space, and he's doing a fine job. Loads of Bells, O'Dell, New Belgium, Schlafly, and a nice selection of specialty 750ML and bombers, both domestic and imported. These include Rogue, North Coast, LaChouffe, and DuPont. Pricing is a little high, but he does a nie job of rotating his stock, and moving older beer off the shelves. Andy is knowledgeable, friendly,a nd wants to sell more beer. So St. Louis BAs, we need to do our part too. Oh yeah, he has the new Goose Island IIPA, and Bourbon County Stout, and is getting a good shipment of Hopslam. You go Andy!.

I really enjoy coming to whole foods to buy beer because i can also get good food here too, and nothing is better than good beer and good food. Bottles are well taken care of and stock rotated very accordingly. Nothing goes bad here because andy doesnt let it. Great selection of seasonals. Andy knows his shit and gets his hands on hard to find goods, period. Mike also has much knowledge of beer, definitely a man to talk to about homebrew. Great selection, and the best prices you'll see in the area much less St. Louis.

Small but tight selection, wide range of bell's, most everything kept cool and stock rotates frequently. Andy, the beer manager (a BA) does a good job of bringing in anything new and interesting that comes into town. There are a few beers off the shelf that you need to ask for, so ask if they've got anything special.

Only problem I have with the place is a general lack of lagers. That's hardly unique to this place, so I can't really complain.

All in all, a nice stop if you're in Central St. Louis County and don't want to stop at that other place near by.

This is my third re-review of this store, as the beer section seems to be in an almost continuous state of flux.

The cold beer is one half of one side of an aisle. Selection is back on the upswing, after bottoming out about a year ago. Lots of Bell's (the seasonals as well as the regulars), locals Schlafly and O'Fallon, and a nice mix of U.S. micros and imports. The selections seem to change with the seasons, and they are once again getting some nice Belgian and German stuff. The beers on special are stacked on the floor in big displays. I have not purchased any of these, so don't know if the warm storage has any ill effects.

The store has removed its warm shelf, and the overall selection is still not what it once was, but great strides are being made. The beer manager is implementing an expanded selection "in the back" with a list posted in the beer area. The first sheet is up now, and plans to afoot to continue to increase this selection, including past vintages of cellar-worthy beers.

The beer manager Andy (BA sneagrams3) is a very passionate guy, who is genuinely excited about beer and his selection. Very helpful and fun to talk with.

A grocery store with a decent selection, most of the beer is kept cold, I did see some 750 ml bottles in crates on the floor and an O'fallon pumpkin ale display between the aisle. They seem to have a good stock of Bell's, New Belgium, Schlafly and a few other domestic micros as well as imports and some nice Belgians. I wouldn't go out of my way to get beer here, but they do have a nice selection for a grocery store. Their prices are about average for this area. I always seem to pick up something when I shop here.
