This came out of the cask a deep red color, much darker than I was expecting. It had a decent, fluffy white head which did not last long. There was no lacing of any note.
The smell was VERY IPA. If you are a fan of the style, which I am, it is what you are looking for. Gingerman had this served at the right temp as well, on the warmer side, only slightly cool. I think that helped the experience.
The hops you smell at the beginning are very notable at the end, again what you are looking for. It doesn't feel too thick in the mouth. In fact, it feels lighter than you would expect. But this is not a session beer. The only reason this doesn't have 4s across the board is that it is simply too strong to drink all night. 2 or 3, sure. Any more might be tough.
A fine offering in the style.

This beer pours a clear golden color with two fingers of head and some lacing. The smell is inviting, but not huge. Again, the flavor is pleasant but nothing crazy. I first had this beer alongside Lonerider’s Peacemaker Pale Ale. The pale ale was stronger and arguably better. If you are looking for an IPA that is agreeable, this beer has a nice finish and a bitter bite. For those not seeking a large amount of hops, this beer had a pretty clean finish with a nice bite of bitter fruitiness. If you like IPA because it’s delicious and awesome and you can’t quench your craving for “loud” beer, then this is something that you might as well not buy, nuff said.

Poured on-tap at La Festa Brick and Brew in Dover, NH. The beer was served in a pint glass, and it pours a light orange-copper coloring with a thin layer of white head that clings tightly in a great lacing in the glass. The aroma is wet and green, with spicy and herbal overtones. The beer's flavors are well blended, with a balance of lemon and grapefruit citrus riding a heavy, grassy, hops character. Very full flavor on a good, robust body. The aftertaste is very hoppy green, with a slight malty sweet balance. The finish is mostly smooth, with a hint of bitter to dry a bit. Very tasty!

Decently hoppy, but in general inferior to Hoptical Illusion in every way. Compared to illusion, pretty unbalanced with a bit too much hops. Pretty flavorful though, and if you like river horse hopolotomus or hoptical illusion or in general hoppy IPA's you'll enjoy it

A - cloudy copper color with a medium head and some noticeable lacing.
S - hoppy, with some apricot and grapefruit/citrus, but not overpowering.
T/M/D - hoppy up front with some hints of citrus (but not too sweet). There's a bit of... nuttiness?... at the back too. The aftertaste lingers for a bit too. A very tasty beer!

Wonderful floral hop aroma right off. Appearance is just above average. It had a decent head that lasted for a minute then receded to just a thin layer of foam. Has alot of lacing which will give it a couple more points. Very bitter mouthfeel and finish. The color is a hazy gold with a few rising bubbles of carbonation. It's hard to believe it is 7% ABV. Nicely carbonated and balanced mouthfeel. Slight phenolic finish. Light to medium body. Good texture and is not watery. A very strong bitterness factor might turn alot of people away. You really have to like IPA's to like this. Aroma also has a copper/metallic smell. It has a decent drinkability, but the bitterness would get to you after about 2 of these. Has a moderately dry finish. Not good for a hot summer day. Overall it is average and good, but not worth another buy.

Very fresh hop character from start to finish. Aroma is slightly sweet and hoppy with nice grapefruit and piney notes with a touch of malt. Light straw gold color with good lacing. Generously hopped flavored with a strong finish. Superb I would gladly drink again.

I think this IPA has a name: Hoptical Illusion. At least that is what I got in a growler at Half Time Beverages. It pours a somewhat musty dark amber with a slight orange tint (looks a lot like the Smuttynose IPA). The head was thick and sticky--a kind of light caramel color. To the nose are a multitude of balanced scents: floral, pine, hops, grapefruit. The initial taste is smoky, tart and very full-bodied. There is nothing understated in this brew, but at the same time nothing is brutal, biting or cloying. It works your taste buds and might be just a tad too bitter at the finish. Still, a good IPA--in the American style.
