This is our first time brewing with fresh or “wet” Pacific Northwest hops (that were overnight delivered from Hopunion LLC), and since they’re only available once a year, this is an extremely limited, one-time-only batch that will not be widely distributed to bars or restaurants.

12/7/12 on tap at Croxley Ale's in Farmingdale, NY: pours clear blood red color with a foamy 2 finger off white head that faded very slowly, leaving great foamy lacing with rings as it went down.
Smells of juicy citrus hops, grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, floral hops, caramel, biscuit, wet bread, piney hops, and fruity sweetness; hoppy, but not overly hoppy with nice malty balance.
Tastes like it smells, with juicy citrus hops that seem like wet hops, grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, floral hops, caramel, biscuit, wet bread, toffee, piney hops, herbs, tea leaf, light spices like pepper and coriander, and fruity sweetness like cherry or plum; hoppy, but not overly hoppy with bready notes and herbal notes that allow the hops to steal the show yet still remain on the soft and mellow side.
Mouthfeel is light, creamy and smooth, with very mild carbonation, a medium body, and a semi dry finish with a combo of hops and herbs.
A good solid experiment from Bluepoint, this was very easy to drink and smooth. While this was a good start to the hop expansion, I still like No Apologies much better, but this is worth trying.

Appearance: Poured with a standard pint from a 64oz growler filled at Beery City in Deer Park, NY. Colour is a clear amber brown. Half-inch head is puffy and fades to a thin film leaving a nice lacing. No visible carbonation.
Smell: A strong balance of citric-bitter hops and sweet, bready malts.
Taste: The hops are crisp and brilliant. The malts are sweet and mild. The aftertaste is clean, bitter, and reminiscent.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body with a modest carbonated bite. Finishes a little dry.
Overall: This tastes just like a west coast A/IPA, mission accomplished! It is nothing spectacular but it isn't a bad beer either. Solid, tasty, and enjoyable.

On draft at Tap and Barrel, Hauppauge, NY.
Poured a dark copper hue with a two finger frothy white head. There was very good retention and sticky lacing.
The smell featured a resinous piney hop atop a light grainy malt.
The taste consisted of an upfront fresh piney hop blast with some lesser citrus notes.
The mouthfeel was toward the thinner side of the style (watery even) with a sharp carbonation.
Overall a tasty and quaffable wet hopped IPA.

From 11/13/12 notes. Had this on tap at Fourth Avenue Pub in Brooklyn. Served in a pint glass.
a - Pours a dark reddish-amber color with one inch of slightly off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Nose is awesome. Smells of pine hops, citrus hops, hemp, grapefruit, tropical fruits, fruity malts, bready malts, wheat, and pineapples. Very nice and load os fresh hops and fruit; really like the nose.
t - Tastes of citrus hops, hemp, tropical fruits, lemon, grapefruit, light pine , and fruity malts. Some slight bitterness, and more hemp and tropical fruits than the nose, tough less citrus and pine. Nice but less hoppy and a step down from the nose.
m - Medium body and low carbonation. The body is super smooth and creamy, and pretty easy to drink. Very nice body.
o - Overall a very good IPA with a great nose. Tons of fruit and hops, this is the best beer I've had from Blue Point to date. Worth checking out.

First had: on tap at TJ's, Paoli, PA
Poured a slightly hazed, dark copper-amber color with a small wispy layer of white bubbles on top. Very nice aroma, thick with citrus and tropical fruits, potpourri, sugary malts. Similar taste, lots of citrus and tropical fruit, more sweet than crisp due to a generous addition of caramel malts, which leaves this beer tasty, but lacking a brilliant and fresh hop flavor. Pithy bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium body, pretty smooth, and quite good overall.

swing by the brewery after work to pick up some globe glasses (finally back in stock). got a 4 oz pour of this. arrived a deep red brown with no head. smells and tastes like fresh hops. really sticky and wonderful tasting. mouth is a but weak on carb and it drinks like juice with mild fizziness, maybe like a flavored seltzer? mouth aside, a very impressive brew from the locals. nice malt back bone ang good balance, not a bitter bomb.
