A: Pours a clear copper color with a large foamy white head. Pretty good retention
and lacing.

S: Sweet malts and some dry floral hops. Overall pretty clean and crisp.

T/M: Starts with sweet malts and light floral hops. Good balance, might be a little
malt heavy. Chewy caramel, medium bodied with an easy crisp feel and a dry hoppy
aftertaste.

O: Not much to say other than it is a good ale. Tastes more like a British Pale Ale, than
an American one. Easy to drink but with little standing out in the taste. Still enjoyable,
but nothing I'd get again.

Appearance: Pours clear with an apropos copper hued and a medium-small, receding, white head.

Smell: Honey nut, toasted grain-flecked bread, faintest light brown sugar. Hops throw off some modest notes of citrus peel, mild resin and a light grassiness.

Taste: Malts tasting of toasted grain, toasted bread with a light whisper of brown sugar and honey sweetness. Lightly nutty. Zesty, slightly grassy hops with enough bitterness to balance it out. Drying finish, with a lingering, gentle fruitiness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation with a pleasant, sudsy texture to it.

Overall: An easy-drinking ale, not overly hoppy nor particularly malty.

Beer looks really nice. Malty earthy nose. Pretty bitter on the profile. Kind of mellow, with a bit of a bite on the back. Carbonation is quite aggressive and strikes the tongue quite a bit. A pretty standard kind of pale ale that doesn't really stand out but is well made.

From 06/22/12 notes. On tap at Amity Hall down on W 3rd St. in NYC. Served in a pint glass.

a - Pours a hazy golden yellow color with one finger of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of wheat, grains, and bready malts. Nose isn't bad but pretty bland and average.

t - Tastes of floral notes, light fruity malts, wheat, grains, and bready malts. Much better than the nose and mroe going on here.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Easy to drink.

o - Overall a decent APA. The nose is pretty bland but it is easy to dirnk and the taste has some nice light fruits and hops to it.

Blue Point Spring Fling Ale is a very clear amber ale with a thin white head that quickly fades to a film and leaves decent lacing. It smells sweet like malt with a little grassiness. It's pretty light bodied and reasonably smooth with a very dry finish. It's hoppier than I expected after smelling it. It's pretty resiny and bitter without any noticeable sweetness. It tastes pretty wooden overall. This kind of seems like an ESB.

Twelve ouncer poured into a pint glass. Grabbed in a mixed six offering.

Pours medium amber, mostly light, with touches of foam. Malty rich caramel smell, some toffee. Hearty malt taste with a good firm hop. Nice bite at close, really pops the flavor.

Overall another good one from BP.

On tap at Sawmill Tap Room 4/28/12

A - orangish amber; thin lacing of white head; little retention

S - very little is anything in the nose; faintly metallic

T - citrusy, caramel, faint chocolate, fruity

M - medium bodied, smooth, lightly carbonated

This was a bit disappointing. It didn't have much flavor-wise that stood out, but it had some characteristics that lead me more towards an amber ale. In the end it was boring, unbalanced, and not specifically stylistic.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

A: Deep copper color. Lacy head.

S: Soft hop aroma (citrus).

T: Balanced taste, easy to drink. Finish stays in your mouth for a few beats with mild bitterness.

M: Medium body for the style, a little thin overall. Good amount of carbonation.

O: Certainly nothing exciting, but decent. An easy beer to grab out of the fridge on a warm afternoon when it's available.

Poured into a standard pint glass a clear deep copper with a tightly formed 1/2 finger white head that held well.toasty bread and nutty maltiness mixed with some leafy/herbal hops,a nice combo.The feel was prickly in the mouth and I couldnt get over that,it really took away alot from the flavors for me.Nutty and toasted on the palate upfront with a decent shot of earthy,leafy hops in the finish,not bad at all.The beer has alot going for it it has good balance but the mouthfeel for me kept my score a little lower than it should have been.

Poured into a standard shaker pint glass. Glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.

Appearance: As served the beer is a clear golden color with a ¼” white head that recedes to leave bits of lacing on the side. Eventually the head recedes to a ring around the glass. For about the first 1/3 of the beer sipping leaves some modest speckles of lacing on the glass.

Smell: The aroma is mostly from the malt so there’s some caramel and bready character. The hops are well in the background and there seem to be bits of pine and citrus, and the whole is quite plesant.

Taste: The flavor is pretty much as predicted by the nose. There is a nice malty character tinged with gentle citric and pine notes.

Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is on the light side of medium bodied and the carbonation is there but not particularly active. The finis is medium long and begins in the malt. It then tapers gently off into some dry hop bitterness.

Drinkability and Overall Impression: I enjoyed this one and also found it went well the food I had ordered. There is nothing “in your face” about this beer and a gentle balance between the malts and the hopes is the order of the day. My overall impression is that this is a nice, well made beer that I’d be happy to have again. In addition I think it would be a great beer to have during an evening of dining and good conversation with friends.

Bought a single bottle from Trader Joe's. Poured into a ikea glass. Poured a nice copper color with a quickly dissipating white head, left not lacing. Not much at all on the nose. Taste is average, mainly pine. Overall, there is nothing compelling about this beer.

Appearance is a copper color with one finger of head. This pale ale from Blue Point has a nose with grain, malts, bread dough and some caramel. It has a taste of nuts, toffee and spice. Mouthfeel is medium, slightly bitter finish. A pretty easy drinking beer, appropriate for a mild Spring evening.

A. It has a nice copper color with a huge foamy white head that leaves some lacing. It is clear with a ton of bubbles coming up throughout.

S. It has a pleasant floral malt scent. A bit of rye?

T/M. Very sweet flavor. A bit of citrus at first and then it tastes like a jolly rancher toward the end. It is malty and there is that hint of rye in there. A bit of chocolate, even. Carbonated and medium bodied.

O. It is all over the place on the palate. Very complex. Interesting. I find it to be refreshing and enjoyable. Not sure how much it would go over in more than one pint.

An extremely easy drinking copper ale. In my experience, copper ales are a little tough to predict the final flavor. Blue Point balances flavor and mouth feel perfectly in this spring offering. This is one of those beers I wish they made year round. My go to spring beer.

Pours a lighter fluffy but 1.5 finger head that fades at a med pace, over clear toasty amber orange colored beer and lacing.

Nose has light grassy hops, touch spicy hops, light sweet malts, lighter overall.

Taste has some bitterness, light grassy mild earthy and touch spicy hops, chewy hops, some light sweet malts, a very slight copper taste, reddish malts, and a nice bitterness overall. Finishes slightly dry and decent bitterness, little syrupy and sticky, light spicy and grassy hops lingering.

Mouth is med bodied, decent carb.

Overall not bad, nice hops, nice malt balance, doesn't do a whole lot but a nice overall balanced pale ale.

I enjoyed this at Nail Creek in Utica on 7/2/11.

This beer is amber in color with a very slight haze. A white head recedes to one finger and stays there, proceeding to drop lacing in pretty sticky patches.
The aroma offers pine, floral, and light citrus hops notes with a balance good caramel and toffee malts notes. Grains linger softly in the background.
The taste follows the aroma, but with a bit of tartness like green apple skin. Biterness is ample, biting without being bracing.
Carbonation is moderate. Crispness is up front and, while this gets fairly smooth, crisp is the word here.
I'm glad I got to try this while I was out east. A very nice beer.

A: Coppery with a bright clarity showcases a moderately paced but light effervesce within. The head is spongy, a finger high, but quick to dissipate to a patchy covering before the eyes. Behind lies a thin ring of lace.

S: Dry pine and dried grapefruit is set against dry toasted grains. Freshly squeezed citrus juices chime through with a intermingle of flowery hops on the close. Decent level of aromatic appeal, enough to get your attention.

T: The flavor was bitter citrus and pine, a good level of dry hoppiness compliments the dry toasted grain base, perhaps munich, dry bready crust. Sweet upfront with some citrus juices the flavor proceeds to a dry offering of toasted grains and dry floral notes with a sour hopped citrus twang of grapefruit.

M: creamy with some signs of sour hop juices resting on the tongue with a light to medium consistency, Dry toasted feel of bread and grains. Could of used a bit more zip in the old carbonation department.

O: Overall adequate level of hops, complimented by a dry toasted grain base. A apa best suited as its name suggests, during the early spring months. Dry, toasted grains and citrus best sums things up here.

The Spring Fling is a nice looking pale ale. The color is yellow with a thick looking white head. The lacing is pretty good down the glass. The smell of the beer has a good balance of malts and hops. The taste of this beer wasn't too bad, had a good malt back bone and a hoppy finish. Mouthfeel was very drinkable. Overall it's a pretty standard Pale Ale but it's worth checking out.

Beer notes from 4/23/11, on tap. Pours clear gold in color with a fluffy snow white head that faded slowly and left great spotty lacing.

Smells fruity like pear and apple, with sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar, floral hops, flowers, citrus hops, light grains, grapefruit, light spices and wheat or yeast; a nice mix for a nice aroma.

Tastes like it smells, with sweet malt, caramel, brown sugar, floral hops, flowers, citrus hops, light grains, lemon, grapefruit, coriander, light spices like pepper, yeast and the slight funk that goes with it, grass and a slightly dry finish. Malty with just enough hop bite to make for a nice balanced beer.

Mouthfeel is light, crisp, silky smooth and refreshing, with a light body, high bubbly carbonation and an overall light fruity feel. The hops and malt are well balanced, and this is a great session beer and very enjoyable.

First had: on tap at the Pour House, Westmont, NJ

A very nice pale ale. Poured nut brown with a nice white head that stayed throughout, and left some beautiful lacing. Aroma was basically toasty malts. Taste of malts mostly, with some subtle, crisp hops in the background. A little bitterness in the aftertaste. Light-medium mouthfeel, and definitely easy drinkability. Tasty and refreshing.

Pour is a copper amber color with a malty yeasty aroma. very small head, but clean looking.

Taste of a mild american pale ale. The hop presence is extremely light for what I would consider an 'American' pale ale. Different beers entirely of course from Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and definitely not intending to do the same thing but I would prefer many other pale ales when given the option. Bottle says copper ale while style of this says APA. Still a nice caramel flavor and a nice dosing of different crystal malts mixed in.

Overall not bad, just not something I would seek out frequently.

Swung by the brewery after work to check things out and it was hopping. Beer had a nice amber color to it and smelled of sweaty sticky hops with a background of citric notes. Taste was like the nose but even more sweaty tasting (sweaty is a weird way to describe it, but if you tried it, you would understand what I am talking about. The malty sweetness is there but it is dominated by the hoppy bitterness. Overall pretty good, more ipa-ish than pale ale and a nice one from one of my fav local brewers

A- Pours a nice translucent copper color with a finger width white head. Some thin lacing sticks to the glass.

S- I'm getting some slight citrus hop aromas with some bread like malts in the back. Aroma is very faint to me right now.

T- Decent hop bitterness with some citrus like flavors carrying threw. Also getting a decent malt character.Good balanced flavors create an easy drinking beer.

M- Body is on the lighter side with clean refreshing taste. Good beer choice for the warmer weather coming.

O - Solid beer with easy drinkabilty. Would definitely pick this one up again. Cheers!

A well carbonated beer with a light copper color and a pretty thick white head. The above average carbonation helps keep the head afloat for quite awhile.

Malty aroma

A good malty brew somewhat like a vienna style.
Some bread and toasted malts too.
A bit course or abrassive with a dry finish.
All in all a good pleasing brew
