A - Pours black with some red hue to the top. Some lacing int he galss.
S - Smells of roasted malt and notes of chocolate, brown sugar, and of course, cherries.
T - The taste is like biting into a black forest cake. The sour cherries add some tartness to the finish. This hearty stout is complex and very enjoyable.
M - A bit harsh. Not the smoothest stout and over time the cherries become a bit much. I'd leave this at one glass.
O - A great RIS to try once. I've had this twice at the brewery and it has been consistently good both times.

Sour cherry Imperial Stout on draft at the brewery on 1/27/23. Served cold. Good flavor with minimal cherry taste. Not a huge fan of imperial stouts, but this one hides the alcohol well, and delivers a nice roasty flavor.

Poured from the bottle.
Don't be confused by the name: It's a stout with "sour cherries", not a "sour stout".
The cherries are a nice addition, bright and tart without getting to be too sweet. It goes well with the roasted malt, chocolate and dark aged fruits.

From the bottle, it pours a very dark brown with a hint of light brown showing at the edges. Head is briefly there and islands thereafter. Cherry and roasted malt in the nose. The mouth gets a touch of cherry along with the roast malt. enjoyable!
