look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.5

Pours an attractive dark copper-tinted amber, moderate head, some retention. Scent is light... some sweet caramely malt, dried grain husk, some watery fruit and earthy hop presence. Taste has a bit of sweet caramel but leans towards a more dried, husky and bready note, not really a grain profile I found in other beers that i would actually call toasted. Some light fruit and earhty hops round out the taste. Medium bodied but way too prickly. Drinkable but unmemorable.

Draft in a tall pilsner glass.

A: reddish amber, very clear. Thick foamy head that lasts.

S: malty and clean but not sweet.

T: burst of hops at the front, gives way to malt quickly. The aftertaste is the most notable feature of this beer, like pecans and toasted wafers.

M: modest carbonation, light enough to be refreshing.

O: a very drinkable but unremarkable beer, makes a good session or companion to a meal.

Tasted 9/14 on draft at the Sweet Grass Dairy Cheese Shop:

A - yellow-copper color with very little head. Just lace is left after a minute

S - honey, citrus, grains, pretty attractive nose.

T - Light malts, honey. Not much going on here.

M - Light-Medium Body, clean-crisp carbonation.

O - Not a fan of the style but its not terrible. If you like lagers then it might just be your thing.

Has an amber color and tastes of caramel. Smooth easy drinking and especially good on a spring day.

Had this beer on tap this weekend at Belmont Park in the Paddock Tent. As close to tasting as Sam Adams Boston Lager. Could not distinguish the difference between the two beers. An excellent micro-brew from Long Island New York. Would recommend it most highly.

Pours a transparent amber with a small white head.

The smell is very faint sweet malts.

The taste is malty with a small amount of hops. There's a slight apple flavour and just a hint of citrus.

The mouth feel is light/medium with a medium amount of carbonation.

Overall a very good lager, easy to drink with a better taste than most lagers.

I had this beer on tap at Devine Wine Bar in Lockport NY, poured into a pint glass.

A: Light Amber Hue, Passes Most Light, White Head Ring, Very minimal Lacing

S: Sweet Malts, Bready, Mild Caramel

T: Malty, Caramel, Bread

M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Malty, Mildly Sweet

Overall, a very drinkable malty lager, nothing thatll blow you away but is great in a pinch.

16 ounce pint - $6.00 at Taco Mac in Canton, Georgia.

Appearance: Lightly hued copper-gold body featuring good clarity underneath a small, fine, white head -- though they did pour this thing to very top.

Smell: A sweetish aroma of (very) lightly toasted, bready malts and caramel candy with low, light notes of spice and fruit.

Taste: Lightly bready, faintly biscuity malts with an initial opening salvo of sweet caramel. Minor spicy hop character, just a bit of citrus in there, too, and with a relatively light bitterness. Quick flash of baked apple. Renewed accents of toasted grain, bread, and the biscuit. All the while, there's that caramelly sweetness, and still, on the finish, it remains sweet.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: A tasty, satisfyingly refreshing brew, though, for the price, I might have to give the edge to SABL.

On tap at Brixx in Brier Creek.

Pours a pale amber color with a thin lacing of white head that fades quickly. The nose is very faint; some caramel and toast. The taste is similar; faint caramel, a little sweet, faint toast, faint earthy hops for balance. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, smooth, and just a little too carbonated.

This is very drinkable beer, but it has little flavor. This would be a nice substitute for someone who regularly drinks BMC, but for someone looking for big flavor, they won't find it here.

On tap at Newark airport. Served in a 16oz conicsl pint glass.

A - Served a darker orange with llight edes. An average sized near white head forms. Good retention and tons of lacing is left on the glas.

S - very malty and roasted wheat. Very much like wheat toast.

T - Taste is similar but even more roasted, almost smoking.

D - Average carbonation and body. Perhaps a bit thicker than usual.

O - Light and easy drinking with a nice toasiness. Glad I tried it.

If you like Yuengling you will love this beer. And you'll never touch that beer again. Where Yuengling lacks Toasted makes up the toasted hops make for a great finish and little to no after taste. This beer is the Ideal pizza beer. this beer is my go to beer. I hope every one everyone enjoys this beer as much as I do.

A very solid lager offering, both winter and summer drinking. Easy-drinking and very little linger. The flavor is well-balanced and there is little to no hop bite. Also, very easy to find on tap or in a bodega in New York City. One of those beers you can drink one or ten!!

Tried this lager on tap at Erbellis in Portage MI. Pours with thin white head with thin lacing. True golden color. Not much aroma coming off this beer. I can pick up a faint grain and malt smell. Clean overall. Great taste of toasted bread no wonder they call it a toasted lager. Easy to drink light and a little bitter bite. Better than your macro lagers. Give it a try it is better than the reviews.

Pours a clear, light gold color with a big white head that fades fast and leaves minimal lacing.

The aroma is slightly nutty with some toasty bread notes and light earthy hops.

Clean malt flavor, nutty and grainy with some toasty qualities. Smooth, light and clean.

Very clean and boring, slightly watery

Overall, easy drinking boring beer.

A- Light amber with a small white head. Looks like a slightly darker yeungling.

S- Toast and cinnamon though nothing very strong.

T- The toast and spice from the nose meld with nuts and a light earthy character that seems to come from both the hops and yeast, a good balance.

M- A bit thin but it has a little more body than most light lagers..

D- Highly enjoyable and refreshing, this is definitely a worthwhile beer if nothing mind blowing.

I haven't had Toasted Lager in a bottle. Because it is a local brew, it is plentiful on tap on Long Island. As a Vienna lager style, I think it nearly rivals Sam Adams. It even surpasses some big name ales like Bass as a good, everyday kind of beer - at least from my experiences drinking it on tap at places like Katie Mc's in Huntington. Here is a beer with good, deep golden copper color, not highly aromatic, but the taste is clean, easygoing, and yes, toasted, which gives it the character it needs. I've had it before, and I'll have it again.

Super surprised by this one, but a local watering hole by me had on tap so I had to try it which led me to pick up a 6 of it.

Pours dark with a very thin. Lots of carbonation with a medium to light body.

Buttery and toasty tasting and goes great with food. Drinks super smooth.

Review from notes. Had on tap at the Pickled Pig.

A: Served in a 20oz mug, the beer is a copper/orange color with a small off-white head, moderate retention and minimal lacing.

S: Some toasted malt and grainy and some light sweetness, with a light hop fruity hop aroma.

T: A good bit of bready/toasted malt, not surprising based on the name. There is a slight hop presence, adding a bit of fruity sweetness.

M: Light to medium bodied, crisp and smooth.

O: Easy drinking, and overall not bad. Not something I would want to drink all the time, but there is nothing wrong with it.

This is very much a local brew for me, Patchouge being 3 towns east on Long Island.
This was served at Nicky's by the Bay, on tap. It was a great compliment to crabcakes and calamari! A crisp and refreshing taste.
I'm told the "toasted" part is due to direct fire-brew kettle technique.

A-Amber colored brew has very small head and barely any lacing. No haze to be seen.

S-Sweet and yes, a bit toasty. Bread and sweetness. Not an intense aroma by any means.

T-I honestly enjoyed my first glass far more than my second. There is a whipped butter component in the flavor. The toast and bread is there as well. The more I drank it, the more I began to taste blueberries. After my second glass I was done.

M-Lighter bodied with a slick feel. Moderate carbonation. Feel lingers slightly too long.

O/D-Better than expected but I would shy away from a 6-pack because the flavor began to aggravate my taste buds. I liked it however. Maybe try it again randomly if there is a weak tap list.

A - Dark amber/light copper in color. The thin, fine textured, unimpressive head is off-white/light tan and offers little lace.

S - Subtle but pleasant caramel malt, honeyed grain and faint hazelnut aroma.

T - Pleasant flavor of caramel malt, toffee, carob and hazelnut. This is a clean, straightforward malty lager for when you are suffering from hops fatigue and want to keep it simple.

D - Medium-light body, med/heavy CO2. Creamy and drinkable.

Had it on tap, in a pint glass, at Salty Dog in Brooklyn.

A- not quite dark enough to say it was amber, but it is actually a quite pleasant golden copper color, with a small tight head.

S- failry non-descript.

T- I don't find it as sweet as some of the other folks who commented here. but it also is not quite as complex as I think a 'Vienna Lager' is supposed to be. Has a light, non-bitter taste, fairly pleasant.

M- medium carbonation, with a pleasant lingering aftertaste at the back of my tongue

O- very drinkable. while not what I would call great, I can drink lots of these easily, and it is still better than most of the beers in average bars.

On tap at amity hall in NYC where I will continue to say that I am a happy customer. Blue point nailed this one. Summer easy drinking lager with a sweetness to the malt and a fair amount of hoppy character.

It looks good, but not great. Amber small head that dissipates good carbonation, smells sweet line a Vienna lager but not offensive and the yeast is tasty. The taste begins crisp and finished that way too. In between the "toasted" bready character comes through for sure. And it's sweet. This is the ultimate easy drinker.

A lager by name, and not bad ny taste, this is one I'll get again for sure.

In my area this is probably one of the most common craft beers you see on tap. I have this every few months going back years and it seems it has changed going over time. My sample poured a clear deepmamber color with very little head. There was a clean aroma, lacking any real hops or malt. But also I thought I detected some yeast. The flavor was one dimensional. The style I believe is more complex than this. It was basically a decent beer but nothing to get excited about. It's drinkable, yes, but in my opinion at the expense of flavor and complexity.

DECENT BUT AVERAGE.
