So this is where they keep all the good beer in Duluth! What a selection! They have remodeled the place since I was there last and they’ve moved all of their beer up front so you can’t miss it. Their selection is impressive. If you consider where the next liquor store of this caliber is, it is down right amazing. I was startled to see Avery here and not in any other store in Duluth or Superior. They also had the big stone bottles of Rogue in some varieties I haven’t seen any where else. Also, they had a great representation of locals from MN and WI and the staples from the coasts. Truly a marvelous selection that forced my hand into buying a little more than I had expected to. The store also has a good selection of whiskey. From previous encounters, the guy behind the counter knew a lot about whiskey and today he knew a fair deal about beer. He was more than happy to chat with us about our selections. It was nice that the beer was right across from the counter, so we didn’t need to track down a cart, or have to look far for help. Truly a marvelous store and a blessing to northern MN.

This place has been invaluable since we moved to northern MN four years ago. Unassuming from the outside, it's crammed with a bazillion great beers, domestic and imported. I visited last week for the first time in a few months (we live 80 miles away) and found the beer selection substantially updated. Lots of new big-bottle craft beers and several new breweries have been added to the already great selection. The owner is more than happy to walk around and help and is responsive to special requests. I also really appreciate being able to make mixer sixers of everything, which allows one to try several new beers without committing to a whole six pack. Overall- a fun and interesting place to shop and a huge asset for northern Minnesota/NW Wisconsin beer enthusiasts!

Great place to buy beer in the north woods. Nice stop on the way to the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota. Easy to find in Duluth, near the mall area. Just head up the hill towards the mall. You can find them at two sets of lights after mcdonalds on the corner on the left. The store offers 300 - 400 kinds of micro and import beers by the bottle or six packs or case. They do beer in store tastings, usually every week.
Great selection! Clerks are very helpful and interested in beer. They are a small, locally owned store and always have one of the full time guys to show you around.
