Great place to buy beer in the north woods. Nice stop on the way to the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota. Easy to find in Duluth, near the mall area. Just head up the hill towards the mall. You can find them at two sets of lights after mcdonalds on the corner on the left. The store offers 300 - 400 kinds of micro and import beers by the bottle or six packs or case. They do beer in store tastings, usually every week.
Great selection! Clerks are very helpful and interested in beer. They are a small, locally owned store and always have one of the full time guys to show you around.

This place has been invaluable since we moved to northern MN four years ago. Unassuming from the outside, it's crammed with a bazillion great beers, domestic and imported. I visited last week for the first time in a few months (we live 80 miles away) and found the beer selection substantially updated. Lots of new big-bottle craft beers and several new breweries have been added to the already great selection. The owner is more than happy to walk around and help and is responsive to special requests. I also really appreciate being able to make mixer sixers of everything, which allows one to try several new beers without committing to a whole six pack. Overall- a fun and interesting place to shop and a huge asset for northern Minnesota/NW Wisconsin beer enthusiasts!

So this is where they keep all the good beer in Duluth! What a selection! They have remodeled the place since I was there last and theyve moved all of their beer up front so you cant miss it. Their selection is impressive. If you consider where the next liquor store of this caliber is, it is down right amazing. I was startled to see Avery here and not in any other store in Duluth or Superior. They also had the big stone bottles of Rogue in some varieties I havent seen any where else. Also, they had a great representation of locals from MN and WI and the staples from the coasts. Truly a marvelous selection that forced my hand into buying a little more than I had expected to. The store also has a good selection of whiskey. From previous encounters, the guy behind the counter knew a lot about whiskey and today he knew a fair deal about beer. He was more than happy to chat with us about our selections. It was nice that the beer was right across from the counter, so we didnt need to track down a cart, or have to look far for help. Truly a marvelous store and a blessing to northern MN.

Warehouse Liquor doesn't look like much from the outside except your typical slightly neglected up north liquor store. Pulling into the parking lot you notice some signs advertising different kinds of craft beer. Opening the door and looking off to the right you see an upscale beer store, unexpected. Four or five wooden 4'x6' shelves, where aisles usually are located, carry an impressive selection of individually priced singles most of which are from the upper midwest. A long shelve of craft covers the right wall and aisle stands hold a lot of seasonals. The row of coolers in back is fairly small but carries a good amount of local and regional craft.
The service was outstanding! The owner was at the register when I stopped in. He was easy to talk to, full of knowledge, and excited about working with beer. He helped steer me toward some of the new releases; Surly Wet, Bent Paddle Brewing, and Schell Star of the North. Tons of MN locals, Founders, Bells, Odell, lots o' stuff. My only complaint is that a few things were past their prime, not necessarily past the best by date but a few IPAs that were older than I would have liked. With the amazing service and selection I'll let that slide each and everyday. The owner was a great guy to chat with and I can't recommend this place enough.

It's always a pleasure visiting Warehouse Liquor. They certainly have the best selection of beer that I have ever seen. The massive array of both American and Import singles are always fun to explore (and I always do for great lengths of time). Most importantly, they always have everything Surly - chilled and ready to go.
I always converse with the staff and get the latest updates on their newest products or what may be coming soon. They are friendly and also very knowledgeable of everything beer (they are not strangers to BA). I don't live nearby, at times I have called ahead, reserved certain selections, and they've been more than happy to do that.
As other reviewers have noted, check the bottle dates as some have sat a while. They're prices are okay, not the best in Duluth, but not unreasonable either.
Overall, a great beer store. I recommend Warehouse Liquor as the go-to place for all your beer needs. A+

I heard about this place right here on BeerFly and I just had to check the place out.
First off, seeing the place from the outside you might think it's just like any other package liquor joint- it's in a smallish ciderblock building on a corner lot- it almost looks like it could have been a gas station back in the day.
In fact they do sell the cheap stuff- the counterman was gently chiding a regular as he brought a suitcase of Hamms up to the counter.
But this place has the most concentrated selection of different beers I have EVER seen. You just can't do any better north of the 'cities. The place is like the magic cavern of beer or something- I can't even remember everything.
Another plus was the staff- the guy at the counter was knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. Most people who work at liquor stores- it's just a job, and they couldn't care less about the "weird beers" because they don't understand them and don't want to take the time to check out their own stock. They don't sell beer, they just take your money. This guy was not that way- he knew his stock, and he took the time to know his customer, which at the time was me.
75 bucks later, I left Duluth with the last of my tiny trunk space filled with beer, and I didn't even scratch the surface.
Reading some of the other reviews here, I notice some talk about old beers. Far's I'm concerned, a good beer can handle a little aging- but the thing is, there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere on any bottle, nor did I see yellowing labels or any other visual cues warning me of such a thing. My impression was that if this was an issue, it's not anymore.
Pricing is kind of the same way- I have no problem dropping 7-10 bucks on a bomber of something I could not otherwise get- it's still waay cheaper than wine or premium vodka or whatnot.
I'm gonna have to hit the place three or four times before the snow flies- I recommend the same to you!

Visited Warehouse when visiting a friend over spring break. This is easily the best beer store in the area. It has a nice small and cozy feel to it. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help with anything you need. The best part about this store was the HUGE single bottle selection, I don't mean just bombers either. Pretty much anything that you can find in a six-pack was available single bottle purchase. Just about and brand you can get in Minnesota was represented. Fantastic store check it out if you're in the area.

Best selection of beer in Duluth, hands down. Unfortunately, the prices run a little high and the beer sits on the shelf for a while. The guys are very friendly and you can get plenty of singles. Unfortunately, there really arent any heavy hitting beers in the stores, especially in terms of Belgians. But, the regional selections arent bad.
There are some nice finds from time to time, including Bells. There's a "cellar" sometimes, from which comes things like Oatmeal Stout, Trumpeter Stout, Susie's Sweet Stout and such. When and where they come from, I don't know. The bargain bucket has some nice finds (a well-aged Victory Moonglow which was outtasite). They have a good diversity of American Micros, and decent local stuff.

Made a quick stop in here to pick up some Surly while on vacation with my girlfriend's family. This was a quick stop because we had an RV taking up most of the parking lot, but I still was able to get a good idea of the quality of this location.
The selection was great. Everywhere I looked there was beer, much that I hadn't seen before in Ohio, and a lot that I had seen in other places. The staff was very helpful. Since I knew what I wanted, the loan worker pointed me right to it and talked me through what each was, even though I already had a pretty good idea. He talked up each brew, and even tried to help me out a little. Unfortunately, I'm on a limited budget until I start my new job, so I couldn't get much.
I feel like I could have spent hours in this shop if I had the time, and honestly wish I could have. My girlfriend said the same thing, as she's been stuck in a few stores with me, and she was even impressed by the selection.
If you're passing through, definitely try to stop in. It's not far off of I-35 and not really out of your way. If you're in town and live here, I'm just slightly jealous of you.

I've dropped in here a few times now and have had good experiences each time. Easily the best store for beer in Duluth. Selection is pretty solid - they have most MN and WI beers and each time I've visited they have had a few beers that have long since sold out in The Cities. The selection of bottles available in singles is very good and they also have a strong lineup of imports.
Service, in particular has been great. Staff have been friendly and very enthusiastic about beer. On the negative side, the store is pretty small and densely packed and there isn't much cooler space. But they make due pretty well with available space.
Overall, a great stop for beer if you happen to be in or near Duluth.
