I am at a loss for words, folks. I have seen what close to perfection is.
Aged in oak Jack Daniels barrels, This years Wee Heavy has surpassed anything from the past, as great as they already were. After only two barrels, they were sold out in the matter of days, so don't rush to pick some up.
I love everything about it. Spicy and soothing at the same time. It only gets better as it warms.

Hardly any nose at all except for a bourbon / butter aroma. Very good clarity, dark amber color. Diacetyl/butterscotch notes in mouthfeel. Alcohol warming, pleasant quaffable brew with some "hot" fusel alcohol notes due to the bourbon. A good blend of bourbon flavor and beer. A good beer, like all those Custom BrewCrafters brew.

Paid $5 a tulip at Alternative Beer in Elmherst, NY.
Pours a ruby amber albeit somewhat clear pour topped with a scant collar.
Scents were difficult to pick up through the haze, but some clear Scotch peat peeked out.
Fisrt swigs: The 'tender said Jack Daniels barrels so I thought J.D. but after a couple sips, and TRUST me, his ni a sipper, some caramel and vanilla extract emerged above the din. Caramel and sugary with detectable whisky notes.
Feel became a bit warm an heated in the gullet. A thin feel overall with a lacking flat carbonation.
Last swigs: Sugary vanilla cherry rummy.

This is a great sipping beer. I must say I was very lucky to get some as it was very limited in supply, only about 100 gallons were made.
Very smooth and quite an incredible finish with the Jack Daniels flavor out in front but not overly so. I'm sure glad to have a growler stashed for when the cooler weather arrives.
