Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine July 2007.
This is one of the originals--an old-world wheat beer brewed with 60 percent wheat and 40 percent barley.
Served in a traditional wheat beer glass, the pour yields a towering head; the carbonation swirls while the foam slowly dissolves back into the liquid. Amazing head retention. Trademark Hefeweizen appearance: cloudy orange. Big fruity aroma of ripe bananas, soft clove and a waft of wheat. Smoothness is sublime as it rolls around the mouth with moderate body. Solid bread malt flavor with the wheat character obviously dominating, fruitiness coming big in the middle with ripe bananas and a hint of lemon. Very mild hop bitterness pushed down by a medium-sized spicy clove phenols that do most of the balancing. Neutral yeast flavor and lingering wheat appear in the dry finish.
First off, never put a slice of lemon in this beer--that would be committing He- fecide. If the beer supposed to have a lemon in it, don't you think the brewers would have taken care of that for us? Hacker-Pschorr Weisse may be lacking in complexity, but it makes up for that tenfold with drinkability, which is what we look for in He- feweizens. Pair it with an egg salad sandwich on rye bread with kosher dill pickles.

Nice fat and juicy wheat beer, spicy flavours upfront with a crisp carbonation. Little bit of phenolic activity with suggestions of clove and black pepper. The fruitiness is all over the place ... so nix the lemon wedge please.

Presentation: 1 pint light brown bottle with stamped freshness date.
Appearance: Pours as a cloudy golden orange with a magnificent creamy, chunky white head -- it keeps well and sticks to the glass. Carbonation is fine.
Smell: Light clove and crisp wheat aroma.
Taste: Crisp and refreshing from the very beginning with a lemony hop snap and gentle tingle on the palate. Smoothes out with a slightly buttery caramel flavour (like a butterscotch candy), followed by clove spice and a slightly grain dry finish.
Notes: This weisse is simply sumptuous! What a session beer!

Pours cloudy amber orange with astonishing creamy golden head, lingering for a long time and leaving excellent laces. Very good aroma of banana, cloves and wheat, all is typical, but very tender. Full flavour, deep and well-balanced, malts to banana and spices. Medium body and carbonation.

Appearance: Cloudy; orangish-amber; medium-sized, frothy head; long lasting
Aroma: Spicy; cloves; bananas; good Bavarian wheat aroma
Taste: Creamy, malty on start; zippy carbonation; leads to good, spicy wheat beer flavor (cloves; banana, citrus); very smooth and well balanced
Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

The first time , I bought this beer at a local liquor store it was horrible. I should of look at beer date before I bought it. It was old beer. The second time I taste it on tap it taste like a world class beer.
Appreance: hazy pale orange a white head
Smell: Aroma is a typical wheat beer.
Taste: It has great depth with spices of clove and coriander with the sweet lemons. It is very smooth and balanced malts and mild hop influence without over doing it.
Mouthfeel : Light side to medium bodied with a good, smooth, creamy feel to it. It is Awesome!
Overall: World class beer! Try it on tap do not buy old bottle at local liquor store.
