A- Light amber cloudy beer with an off-white disappearing head.

S- Banana and clove, nice sweetness; very rich, complex aromas.

T- Slightly sweet, less banana and clove than in the aroma, but quite present; very faint bitterness.

MF- Smooth with some bite from the carbonation

D- Very drinkable. I will have this again.

Poured from a 500ml flip-top bottle into a dimpled pint mug.

Pours a dark, cloudy, orange colour, with a lively at first but quick to settle down head.

Smells pretty musky and fresh oddly.

Tastes like a classic hefeweizen, a very balanced smooth taste, with a sharp sweetness on the palate giving it a nice taste.

Overall a really nice hefeweizen, not bland like many can be.

Served from a swing-top bottle purchased in Switzerland.

A: Cloudy chestnut brown. Nice sticky lacing with fluffy head.

S: Banana bread, burnt sugar, faint earthy hop aroma.

T/M: Heavier on caramel malts for a hefe, brown sugar and cooked banana. Hefe yeasty flavors take the side show. Slightly unpleasant alcohol esters on the finish. Medium-bodied and normal carbonation (would like a bit more, but might have been the pour).

O: Not my favorite. Nice idea with a more flavorful and full-bodied hefe, but not executed as I'd like.

500ml flip-top bottle. Mindestens haltbar bis Ende: 01/12.

It pours a hazy brown, clearly an attempt to join the market of Schneider Weisse or Unertl. The head is thick and off-white an sticks for a long time.

The smell is mostly clove with a hint of caramel malts, bread, and lemon.

The flavor is also quite clovey with a lot more lemon interference however. The mouthfeel is surprisingly flat.

You could see the direction this beer was heading, but it didn't make it all the way.

A - Very dark cloudy chocolate/caramel colour. Solid two fingers worth of dark brooding head.

S - Sweet banana & strawberries. Soft cream & caramel.

T - Mild at first with low levels of carbonation. Sweet flavours with just a touch of sourness. Primarily it's a weakish sugary caramel taste. It's nice and soothing but a little disappointing after inhaling such a glorious aroma.

M - Slightly spicy & sour. Pleasant enough but a bit plain.

O - Great aroma, enjoyable to drink. The flavour could be stronger and more vibrant though. Overall though this is one of my favourite Hefeweizen beers and well worth the interest - if only for the aroma. To me it's that little bit more interesting than a Weihenstephaner or a Schoffer.

.5L, best before the end of September 2011.

Pours a shade or two darker than the normal Hefeweizen straw-orange. Head retains okay, not a whole lot of lacing.

The aroma is yeasty and phenolic, with some ripe fruit esters as well.

A very bready, wheaty Hefeweizen. Not too much banana or bright fruitiness. Earthy, bready, yeasty and basic. The aftertaste is pleasantly spicy. Mouthfeel is excellent, with an ethereal lightness and soft, fluffy carbonation.

Sternweisse reminds me of Erdinger in its bready simplicity. Decent beer, just not one of the better Hefeweizens.

Pours a golden/orange color with substantial, long-lasting head. Aroma is citrus, hay, with a slightly unpleasant earthy twing. Taste is rather weak for a Hefeweizen but is mostly sweet malty flavors with wheat banana, and lemon predominating. There's also a grassy, earthy flavor present as well. Finishing is sweet and slightly astringent. A below average example of the style.

Drank from my Erdinger Weizen Glass.

A - Pours a hazey dark straw colour thathas a very foamy head that dies quickly.

S - Heavy clove aromas from the bottle. Turns to an intense custard aroma.

T - Flavours of banana and heavy clove finish dominate with a little lemon zest

M - Medium body and low carbonation

D - A good example of the style.
